I just did a standard push of the 9.5 agent with all the trimmings except remote control (it also lacked antivirus and firewall since the only LDSS feature we licensed was patch). In the agent config under Device Reboot Options I specified that it should reboot with user option to cancel (if needed).
I pushed it to one XP box and one Win7. Both had the 9.0 SP3 agent. Both had previously had the remote control component. Neither rebooted! The event logs say everything was upgraded successfully, and I confirmed that the LANDesk Remote Control service disappeared.
Either this is a big engineering improvement for LANDesk or I screwed something up. Is it feasible that an agent upgrade from 9.0 SP3 to 9.5 will no longer require a reboot?!
