Tracking a release to multiple CI's

Looking for examples of how other HEAT users track the progress of a release to multiple CI's

Say for example replacing PC's in a specific role at 20 factories.

Each PC has a number of setup steps that must be done in the correct order, and steps cant be missed.

Looking at what the Release module can do in HEAT, each PC needs its own task to track technicians time and a milestone so you have the checklist to keep track of the steps complete.

Downside i found here is checklists don't have a configurable order, so creating reusable templates for milestones leaves the milestone's checklist muddled.

 

Looking for hints/tips of how you track such roll outs in heat at your organisation.

As a side note, does anyone know of documentation that presents various scenarios like this, and practical steps/workflows/Best practices you would use to track them in HEAT? I've been through the HEAT user and admin docs, and they don't quite hit the spot.


Alerts in Self Service Mobile UI shows Red regardless of category

Alerts show in the self-service mobile UI in Red regardless of severity.  How can we change the color?

Standard desktop shows the alerts in different colors depending on severity.  Mobile UI shows them all in Red -how do we have the color change or how can we default a color for an alert severity?

In Self Service Mobile UI you can set option to save requests in draft format with the save for later checkbox in the settings.

Can we have a link from the homepage that will open a list of draft requests?

 

In self service mobile - requests saved but not submitted show when draft button clicked under service catalogue page.

 

From the Home page we want to setup a link to show just a list of the draft service requests - is this possible?

Calculations on Automatic Action (Process Designer) not being calculated ServiceDesk v2017.1

Is anyone aware of an issue whereby Calculations do not work when included in an Automatic Action.

Known bug?

 

1. Create a New Automatic Action (associate with window) - 'Amend Incident'.

2. Add to Process flow.

3. Double Click to Open the new Action to Reveal the Core Object Window and Right click to add a calculation to a string attribute...

     amend the calculation e.g. Value = "Sample Text" ...> return Value

4. Save & Test...

 

The Calculation will not work. however - I have calculations in place - that use the above method that are in place and working.

 

It sounds like a bug - Does anyone have a workaround?

Setup & Sync Tool: Cannot save this object, name not unique within its context

Hi all.

 

In Setup & Sync Tool I keep getting an error message saying "Failed to save organization "nnn" (Cannot save this object, name not unique within its context.)."

I've checked the option "Ignore duplicates" in the tab "Mappings".

Data source is AD.

 

Anyone know how to solve this?

Identity Director Client and Identity Broker setup

I have multiple Runbooks that deploys software to users per request. This has worked for a few months, but recently I installed and configured Identity Broker to be able to offer users single sign-on feature.

What I just discovered is that when users now request software all my services fails as the #Requester[DeviceID] or #Requester[DeviceName] (specified in Service Catalog | Service Name | Workflow | Deliver | Invoke Run Book | Properties | Computer(Optional) field) are no longer being resolved, which makes transaction fail. I can only think of Identity Broker being reason for this. Have read the manuals and available KB's but nothing points in direction of some missing configuration.

Have anyone any ideas of how to overcome this issue?

Customer is on latest available version of both products.

application invisible due to uncommon character

In order to get an application at the bottom of an alphabetic list, we added a uncommon character. 

 

The application is succesfully sorted at the bottom of the list and still functions, however, it can not longer be found in the RES One Workspace Console.

 

 

This means it is no longer possible for us to either disable/delete/edit the application. Which is a severe problem.

 

Can anybody help us with deleting the application without using the (malfunctioning) Workspace Console? We have access to the RES One DB.

CI Daily Reporting

Hi,

 

We currently have HEAT Service Management (Cloud) running in our orginisation and I've been put in charge of monitoring the assets meaning spending long hours mangaging CI's on a day to day basis.

 

One of the main issues I seem to be having with CI's is that they are not reporting daily to HEAT which is definitely not helpful, I have set up a setting in Inventory Settings to run daily, but although the same machines are on and everything, they will update one day but the next day different machines update but not the entire CI list. Please see screenshots below.

It does not seem to be consistent and I dont know if its because the settings arent working properly or if im just not modifying the right setting.

 

Can somebody please possibly assist (I need all of our machines that are only to report daily).

VulScan Using Excessive Memory and disk usage 100%

Hello,

We have problems with different users in our organization. When you start VulScan, the PCs are blocked with excessive memory usage and in some cases 100% disk usage creating a system lock.
In our infrastructure is installed McAfee antivirus, and reading some thead we have seen that there could be an inability between the two.
We have taken steps to exclude the entire Landesk folder from the virus scan, but unfortunately the problem still occurs.
Do you have any advice to give me to try to permanently solve this problem?

ich hätte eine Frage an die DSM-Community, die nicht unbedingt etwas mit DSM hat aber egal

Vielleicht kennt der ein oder andere etwas Vergleichbares oder hat sich schon damit beschäftigt...

 

Kennt ihr eine Software-Lösung mit der man Windows-Geräte (Win7+Win10) remote Fernlöschen/Wipen/Sperren kann.

Mir ist bewusst, dass ein Wipen/Sperren nur mit einem laufenden Windows + funktionierender Internetverbindung funktioniert.

We have a customer asking how to manage bit locker whole disk encryption using DSM. Ideally they are looking for any scripts or packages so they do not need to manage via AD GPO.

 

Also any tips and tricks in the is area welcomed!

Anyone else seeing this patch that as was downloaded only a few days ago with a published date of 2005!

 

This is now showing up in our xtraction reports.

 

I assume this is an oversight in the definition rules somewhere.

 

Seems to be the same for MSFT-DN15_intl as well but not quite as bad as only 2017.


CI Location

Hi

 

When our system was originally designed we had numerous CItypes designed to suite our environment e.g. Mobile device, Wifi Dongle.... What we have no discovered it that our dashboards are not populating as the "CI Location" field was substituted on the new pages with "Physical Location" however on the workstation CI page CI Location is being used. Now when we attempt to create a saved search using CI > CI Location the "CI Location" is not listed however Physical location is list. The issue is that I cannot create a saved search and populate the dashboard with the location as I cannot filter on "CI Location". 

 

How do I make the "CI Location" field available in the CI search and the "group by" shown below?

Export Computers with SQL Query

I'm looking to export the list of registered computers from the Management Center along with some additional info (machine name, deployment group). I'm pretty sure the only way to do that is via a SQL query, as the Management Center console doesn't provide a way to export a list of machines. A bit cheeky to ask like this, but wondering whether anyone has written a SQL query to export the list of machines previously and could share.

 

Environment is Management Center 10.0. SQL Server 2012 R2.

Vulscan crashes at MSRT and Flashplayer vulnerabilities

Hi,

 

We are running on Endpoint Manager 2016.

This week we noticed that for all clients in our local site the last Vulnerability Scan had been almost over a week ago. Clients from other locations have still been updated regularly (every day) as scheduled.

We then found out, that two Vulnerabilies caused the vulscan to crash: MSRT-001_INTL (The Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool) and APSB18-01_INTL (Security updates available for Flash Player)

After moving those vulnerabilities to "Do not scan", all of our clients on our local site are working fine again.

 

When vulscan stops, the last entries within Vulscan.log are like:

Hinweis: Bios Update Tool HPBIOSUPDREC für HP Clients wegen Meltdown/Spectre

Auf aktueller Hardware hat HP das BIOS Flash Tool irgendwann komplett umgestellt/umprogrammiert. Statt direkt unter dem OS zu flashen wurde der Vorgang nur vorbereitet.

Ergebnis war, daß es keine returncodes mehr bei keinem oder fehlerhaften BIOS Passwort gab und somit der Flashvorgang immer angestartet wurde.

Nach dem Reboot wurde dann ggf. das BIOS Passwort abgefragt oder wenn es zufällig gestimmt hat eine Option zum Abbruch angeboten.

Zudem ging der Client dann irgendwas einfach aus und es passierte 60 Sekunden rein gar nichts bis es auf einmal wieder weiter ging. Darüber wird zwar kurz mit einem Hinweistext informiert, aber wer liest das?

Das ist in einem Enterprise Umfeld beides ein NoGo.

Heute hat endlich HP die notwendigen Infos rausgerückt und auch zugegeben das diese im Moment nicht öffentlich zugänglich sind.

Der zusätzliche Parameter um wieder das alte Verfahren zu erhalten lautet -wmi

Ich habe auch eine Liste mit aktuellen Returncodes, wenn Interesse besteht poste ich die auch noch.

Ach ja, mit -l"[path]" kann man auch bestimmen wo das LogFile landet.

Es gibt noch weitere Parameter wie z.B. -z, aber die wollte man mir dann doch nicht geben weil teilweise viel schief gehen kann damit.

How to Constrain OwnerTeam by Owner in Task

So I have used the previously documented article to constrain Owner by OwnerTeam in Task.  Sometimes people know who will be the Task Owner but not sure what team they are on.

Can we have it both ways?

a)  If person picks OwnerTeam, they can select from those on that team; and

b)  If person picks Owner, then the owner's StandardUserTeam is populated? Please advise.
