Window Calculation Question based on Category?

Hey ServiceDesk Pals,

 

Does anyone know a way to create an conditional statement based on a Category higher node?

 

For Example: If I had a category:

- Field Services

     - Devices

     - Kiosk

     - Vendor

     -Other

 

How could I write an If statement that would encompass all items under Field Services without saying:

if Incident.Category.FullName == 'Field Services - Devices' or Incident.Category.FullName == 'Field Services - Kiosk' or Incident. Category.Fullname == 'Field Services - Vendor' .....

 

How can I say if Incident.Category.FullName 'Field Services':


emuser.exe high memory

We have recently deployed our Environment Manager agents to our desktops and have noticed that the emuser.exe process starts in the 25-40mb range  but after a short while after it will climb to 200-300 mb.  In some cases i've noticed it climbing up to 900mb in use.   We use a tool called ControlUp that I use to monitor desktop resources (Xendesktop persistent desktops in our case) so I can monitor everyones processes .   I found if i restart the AppSense User Virtualization service it helps but i'm needing to do that on large numbers of desktops almost daily now to keep that number down.  I saw some reports of this process with high CPU use but that seems fine in our environment , its the memory that seems to be a killer.  We already turned off self-service since that eats up 40mb on its own so trying to keep things streamlined as possible.  Hoping someone has some advice ! thank you

Close final task - Close Incident

Hi all

 

Looking to get some assistance regarding closing open tasks in the Incident module.

 

What I'd like is for a pop up to appear when the final task is closed advising that the incident should now be marked as resolved.

 

I think it would either be a Triggered action or a workflow instance but need some guidance in the right direction.

Self-contained agent installation fails on a client

Hello everyone,

 

I am a new Ivanti user and this is my first post.

 

I am on EPM 2017.1 SU (2017-0627D), on a Windows 10 Enterprise x64 client the self-contained agent installations fails, it hangs on "rainstall.exe".

 

I attach wscfg32.log file retrieved from the client.

 

I really appreciate any useful information or tip on how to "fix" this issue.

Automate adding members to a contact group

I have related a specific contact group a service request via a quick action.  As a second action I want to add members to that same group based on loginID's that are in hidden fields on the Service Request.  The Contact group gets related, but the members are not added.  See attachment.

APM Installations Performance

Hi Leute,

 

wie sind so eure Erfahrungen mit APM und den Installationszeiten? Bei uns braucht das System unheimlich lange für die Installation von Updates. Der Scan ist innerhalb einiger Sekunden erledigt, aber das installieren von einem Kumu Update dauert teilweise fast 2 Stunden:

 

 

Auch das installieren von anderen Updates dauert verhältnismäßig lange. Für Visual C 2005 SP1 braucht er grade schon wieder 20 Minuten. Währendessen läuft die TiWorker.exe und verursacht ordentlich CPU Last.

 

Ein AV Schutz ist auf den Clients nicht installiert. Im Moment kann ich mir nicht erklären wo das herkommt, hatte Jemand schon mal das Problem?

Search personalization database for specific registry value

We have a specific registry key and value we would like to be able to search in the PersonalizationServer database as it is being personalized as part of our Office group. Basically we are looking for a list of users that have this key and its value.

 

Is there a way to do this and/or instructions on how to do this?

Using Ivanti Workspace Control with Carbon Black causes users to be instantly logged off

I recently upgraded a customer from v.9 to 10.1. During the upgrade, when we upgraded the agent on the Windows 7 image, our testing showed that when RES/Ivanti was composing the desktop, Carbon Black would kill the winlogon process, causing the user to be instantly logged off. We have a case open with Carbon Black, however, they are stumped. They had helped the customer originally with setting up the exclusions to allow RES to work properly, but now, they can not get it to work.

We tried configuring Carbon Black to bypass any child processes of RES(pwrgate.exe), which made it work, but since these are fully managed desktops, every executable is called through this - and as such, it doesn't scan/monitor anything.

Is there anything that has changed in v10.1 that would trigger Carbon Black to think that it's malicious?

Installing Agent from Unmanaged Devices

Hello everybody,

 

We setup a new Ivanti 2017.3 Management Console. We are going to install to the AD devices that the Unmanaged Device service has collected. It doesnt work. We hadn't trouble in the old server. I run a task from the unmanaged device, anyway it don't start. I hadn't any response: active, failed... nothing. At least someone could tell me where a log is to understand better? Thanks in advance. F.

WinPE10 mit Win7

Hallo zusammen,

 

ich versuche gerade verzweifelt Win7 SP1 mit WinPE10 zu installieren. Leider scheitert es akutell bei mir schon an dem Fehler "need another boot environment" im DSM Client. Des weiteren lässt sich die "setup.exe" von Win7 nicht starten, da zwei dll Files (wbemprox.dll und fastprox.dll) den Fehler "the procedure entry point ... could not be located in the dynamic link library". Eine Installation über WinPE3 ist nicht möglich da die NVM-SSD nicht erkannt wird. Habe leider auch schon alles mit Win7 versucht und komme einfach nicht weiter. Hat von euch noch jemand eine Idee?

Windows 7 installieren mit WIN PE10

Hallo,

ich versuche verzweifelt mit DSM 2016.2 Laptops mit einer NVMe-Festplatte unter Windows 7 zu installieren.

Ich habe per DSM ein Bootenvirnment WIN PE 10 erstellt. Windows 10 lässt sich auf dem Rechner problemlos installieren. Dann habe ich mit NTLite die besagten DLLs getauscht.

Anschließend sann starte ich die Windows7-Installation mit besagtem Bootenvironment. Die Festplatte wird noch partitioniert, aber danach bleibt die Installation mit einem Fehler stehen. Das Config-package bringt eine Fehlermeldung. Das Windows 7-Image müsste funktionieren, da ich dieses mit einem WINPE10 von einem USB-Laufwerk auf die Hardware installiert bekomme.

Hat mir jemand evl. eine Schritt-für-Schritt-Anleitung was ich genau machen muss?

Wie kann ich setup.exe manuell starten bzw. wo finde ich logfiles um den Fehler einzugrenzen.

 

Bin für jede Rückmeldung dankbar.

Dynamische Gruppen werden nicht aufgelöst

wir haben seit einigen Tagen das Problem dass dynamische Gruppenmitgliedschaften nicht mehr aufglöst werden was dazu führt dass für Software keine Policyinstanzen erzeugt werden.

Des weiteren sind zahlreiche Einträge wie "WARN  Enteo.BlServer.ClientManagement.Model.UpdateDevicesCommand - Client tries to update Device with ID 94381, but cannot be updated by a client" im Log

Ich gehe davon aus dass der Deadlock (SQL Error 1205) dafür verantwortlich ist. Hat das schon jemand gehabt und wie kann das behoben werden?

what ports on Windows are used for agent deployment? I´ve looked on this site, but it shows all ports used by Windows agents:

How quickly should LDAP changes show up in LDMS query?

We prefer to deploy software based on AD security groups.  Ideally, we put a machine into a security group, then within a few hours LDMS installs the software associated with that group.  But I can't figure out exactly what mechanism tells a client, and thus the core server, what security groups a system is in, or when that mechanism runs.  I put a machine in a security group, did a hardware inventory, a hardware-and-software inventory, a Full Sync inventory, ran gpupdate /force on the system and ran all three different inventories, rebooted and did the inventories, then even did a vulscan (though I don't think there's any connection there).  The system would not recognize the new membership in that security group until sometime last night.  I'd like to know how a system recognizes the new membership so I can "nudge" a given system to help it install software faster.  I would think this is in the User Guide somewhere, but I've looked and looked and haven't found it anywhere.

Missing Services after Agent (Re)Installation

I have accidentally deployed the workstation agent to a bunch of servers, but now when I install the server agent over the top of the workstation agent services are missing. (Using the self-contained .exe method.)

 

Specifically, the LANDesk(R) Management Agent (CBA8) is missing.

 

I can re-register the service with "%PROGRAMFILES(X86)%\LANDesk\Shared Files\residentagent.exe" /register but why must I do that? Is this a bug? How am I supposed to reinstall the agent properly? Must I uninstall it and reboot first?
