I am using EPM 2017.3, and have imported my existing database from 9.6. I have a couple of rogue devices that show up in inventory but have no data. I can delete them, but after a length of time, they just show up again. My database was moved to a SQL server managed by our DBAs due to its size, so I no longer have the ability to look around for the information I need. What table does EPM store computers in? If a DBA goes in and deletes a record from said table, are there any other items of concern? Thanks for any assistance.

Connect an ISM External Business Object to SQL Server
So, I am trying to build out an External business object, one where the actual data lives in a SQL database.
I get through the part where I define the standalone object, set the External Object Synchronization flags, set a field to be the Foreign Key. That was all the easy part. I am at the part of "Associate a Script with the External Business Object. Script? What script? This isn't WSDL - I doubt that the SQL database is talking that by default, and there certainly is no methods defined for ISM installed there. Is there some other way to get this done?
Looked high and low, and all I found from Microsoft was "Do not use this functionality - it will be removed soon!" Not very promising. Nothing here at Ivanti, either.
I can't be the first guy who wants to get to some external data. Is there a skeleton out there which I can modify to do what I'm looking for?

Strange Result - Primary Owner
Hi Everyone,
I'm puzzled by this issue I am having. I have created a simple query that shows all the workstations. What I noticed is that some of the Primary Users are showing LDAP syntax instead of just the person's name.
What causes this and how can this be fixed?

Configuration Items Structure
Hi Everyone,
I feel that it is quite tedious to create separate windows/forms for each CI. Our current ticketing system allows us to select an "Asset Type Name" and manually enter the rest of the items details pertaining to that selected item. If we need to query a particular asset type all we do is filter search to only Asset Type Name that contains a particular item.
Screenshot is shown below:
Another idea in mind was to create a separate drop down menu for one CI. For example, Workstation window has a drop down menu called "Asset Type" and it has "Laptop" and "Desktop" on it. Asset windows also has a drop down menu called "Asset Type" and it has "Signature Pads", "Aircards", and "USB drives".
If I need query a list of aircards for example, I should be able to get a list of aircards. I was wondering all the items on every CI "Asset Type" are store in one table? Sometimes we like to add more item types. Let me know your thoughts about this. Any help is always appreciated!

Why is my DateDiffSQL result not accepted in CalcRule for a Number Field
DateDiffSQL is supposed to yield a number as a result. Works in Calculation rules. I'm trying to use it in a Calc Rule for a number field but keep getting a conversion error.
Tried swapping the two dates to rule out that error was due to negative result.
What hav eI got to do to count the days between two dates?

Any way to pre-install the Agent into a gold Image (2018)?
2017.3
I know there have been discussions about this, the last one I found Re: Is it recomended to pre-install the agent in the image?
Has something been implemented in the newer releases?
It takes 14 min for the Agent to install (on my tests) it's just too much.
Any new information is appreciated.

Change survey -- has anyone implemented a Change satisfaction survey like the surveys for Incident or Service Request?
We are trying to implement a satisfaction survey for our Change process using the Survey functionality in HEAT. I can build the surveys so they function correctly. However, I can't build the relationships between Change and Survey Results, Survey Metrics and Survey Sessions because the only field to relate to on the Survey side is the RecID. Has anyone encountered this issue and has anyone been able to work around it?

Using RES ONE Workspace 10 on physical Windows 7desktops
We have a current Citrix environment utilizing RES ONE Workspace 10 and it is working rather well. We do NOT have a Relay Server setup, just direct connection to the SQL server & database. We would now like to expand R1Workspace 10 to some of our current Windows 7 desktops that are joined to the local domain. Primarily, we are wanting to use it to push out shortcuts and mapped drives to these desktops to replace various login scripts and GPOs. I have installed the agent onto a test machine and have configured the agent to talk to the existing SQL database. When I reboot and login as a standard user account (that R1 has seen in the Citrix environment), nothing really happens. I don't see the splash screen as we do in Citrix, and nothing really appears different. I'm assuming I'm doing something wrong but can't find any sort of a setup guide for desktop configurations to help me through this. Or, maybe I'm wrong and this isn't designed to work as I'm thinking?

App deployment on a new build
I'm having a number of issues with EPM 2016.3 (SU6) with regard to Software Distribution and would like some guidance from the community.
We have a project coming up to rebuild 300+ workstations in a very short time frame (3 days). We have traditionally used OS Provisioning of Windows 7 with a very basic image Wim, then targeted LDAP against AD OUs for application deployment of the core applications.
There is a bug in 2016.3 causing us issues with targeted LDAP when logged on as a local administrator, so we have to RunAs PolicySync as a domain user to kick it off. Unfortunately the list of applications targeted via LDAP using Policy often does not complete, causing us to try running PolicySync again, but this causes it to run ALL the tasks, forgetting which ones it has done.
All our packages have been UNC; I have tried using http but it seems VERY slow in comparison. Network utilisation on a client during the sdmcache phase of a deployment is in single figures...
The issue is for these workstations that the finished build, windows, core apps and cad apps is 70gb(!),. A disk image would be desirable but I can't fathom how it would work with PC naming and domain join using provisioning.
Sorry, this has rambled on a bit too long, but I'm having real problems with the performance and reliability of the installation of apps on a clean build workstation, and would appreciate any help. Oddly, the targeted LDAP used to work perfectly on our 9.0 core, so much so that we are only just retiring it for build use.

Environment Manager exceptions - file paths
Is it possible to include directory paths from being excluded from EM? We have a user who does GIT processes and there are several executable's that are spawned when he does anything with that repo (thus causing high EMUser CPU). Would adding %localappdata%\Programs\Git\usr\bin to processwhitelist / exceptions (under asmodldr) exclude any process that gets spawned from that directory?

One of the user accidentally deleted email templates organized in folders, sub-folders.
I was able to trace it in DB and export to CSV.
However, I was wondering if there is any way to restrict such actions or provide read only access
or any backup and restoration solution for email templates exclusive.

I need to integrate the Ivanti UEM remote control with Heat as have been in the past with LANDESK Service Desk.

In the past, with LANDESK Service Desk was possible to start a remote control session direct of web console as easy way making a click on IC of enduser to go. Does anybody knows if is possible to do the same use wiht the HeatSoftware and how I can do this? I have the Ivanti UEM 2017.3 and the Heatsoftware 2017.2.

Disabling TLS 1.0 in EMSS/Patch and remediation
Has anyone using Endpoint Security 8.5.0.20 with Patch and Remediation installed disabled TLS 1.0 on the EMSS server?
With Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 ,SQL 2008R2 and EMSS 8.5 installed on the same machine....
and after following the MS recommended articles to enable TLS 1.2 support on the OS, SQL Server and .Net frameworks
If we disable TLS 1.0 on the server, the clients can connect to the EMSS server, but after a little while, the Patch and remediation tab shows all endpoints in a Agent Status=Online / PR Status=Offline state and the icons are Red.
Just wondering if anyone has successfully disabled TLS 1.0 on their EMSS server?
