WinPE randomly breaking - No longer loading drivers

So despite having touched nothing on our server, out WinPE environment no longer loads drivers.  The interface says "Driver Folder List is empty"

 

Now when I go into the Management Console and go to "Manage drivers in Windows PE image" it opens the image just find and lists all the drivers.  So suspecting something got messed up, I backed up the image and replaced the active boot.wim with the backup "clean" boot.wim file we saved back when we rebuilt our boot.wim file.  When using that, it doesn't even attempt to load drivers.  It just runs WinPE init, and then sits at the command line interface doing nothing.  Of course, since there are no keyboard drivers, we can't type anything.  This is extremely frustrating as WinPE seems to break on it's own every 6 months.

 

Anyone have any ideas?


Uninstalling Avalanche

I have a Symbol 9200 scanner running Windows CE.  How to I completely uninstall Avalanche from this device?  I have looked in "Remove Programs" in Control Panel and it is not listed.  I have also done a factory reset on the device and it still remains.  There is no "uninstall" icon in the Programs folder. 

 

I would appreciate any suggestions anyone could give me.

Hey,

 

Is there a way to uninstall the client using the command line?

 

I need to remove the client on about 70 servers and i am using a powershell script to do it.

But every time I try to uninstall i still need to press the uninstall button in the UI.

Is there a way to bypass this?

Hey ServiceDesk pals,

 

Is there a way to set a focus on a window when that window is displayed? Example, when I hit resolve the cursor focuses to "Category" instead of "Details". How can you change this?

Ivanti EPM 2017.X and 2018.X Provisioning Issues

has anyone else had the issue when performing provisioning tasks even though the task box is unchecked where it says to stop if task fails, the task fails and the provisioning stops. I then have to relaunch the ldprovision.exe to get it to continue. sometimes the tasks just stop responding and I have to reboot and relaunch ldprovision to get it to finish. This has been an ongoing problem since 2017.1. No one seems to really have an answer. It seems as if the connection from the task to the computer just stops. It is random. It is not always the same task. Surely this is working as designed?

I know that we can set restrictions on devices and log what's connected, but is there anyway to log what is being transferred from a computer to the USB device?

Upgrade GoldMine to 2018.1.HF-2 for a client.  One workstation is having a issue logging in.  Received the following message:GoldMine Error message when Mark logs into GoldMine on his computer 8-30-18.png

I found one old program on his computer that had the OLEACC.dll file.  I removed the file from his computer but it didn't make a difference.  Try to uninstall GoldMine on the workstation and reinstall with no change.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does GoldMine Server use HTTPS connection with GoldMine clients

Upgraded a client to GoldMine 2018.1.HF-2 yesterday.  It installed Microsoft .net framework 4.5 full.  The server rebooted, upgrade was completed.  This morning their IT consultant sent me the following message.

 

Since 2018-08-29 11:03:48 (after server3 rebooted, it is starting to report the following error:

 

  1. Desc.: The following fatal alert was received: 40.

 

Time: 2018-08-29 11:03:48Z

Category: None

Log: System

Type: Error

Source: Schannel

Event: 36887

Username: SYSTEM

Computer: SERVER3.forbes.local

 

System log generated Error Event 36887 on server3.root.fef

 

I have researched this error and it seems related to IIS cypher issue with client. Is the Goldmine server configured to use HTTPS connection with Goldmine clients?

 

Has anyone ran into this issue, if so what do we need to do to resolve it?

Enviroment:

 

Problem:

I am trying to locate this "Comments" field, so that I can edit the character limit.

Workflow:

In Incident, for our Service Desk Analysts, we have enabled object matching to Knowledge.  While configuring the filters, withing the object matching panel settings within the SDA Layout for incident. 

 

I opted to check the box highlighted below (B), this allows the "Feedback" button (C) on the Article View, so that our analysts can provide feedback.  This button launches form above (A), with field that has limit.

I am unable to locate this quick action, as it does not appear to be located on the form.    For example: FRS_Knowledge.Document.ArticleView

 

Anybody know where I can extend the character limit on this field?

Hallo in die Runde,

 

nach vielen Jahren der Nutzung deutscher Versionen von LANDesk/Ivanti Management Console wurde die neueste Version englisch installiert.

Sehr hilfreich für die Übersicht in der "Patch and Compliance "Übersicht ist das Sortieren nach Veröffentlichungsdatum.

In der englischen Version ist die Datums-Angabe dd/mm/jjjj --> er sortiert als nach dem Tag im Datumsfeld des Erscheinens.(1/3/2018 steht in der Liste also weiter oben als 3/8/2014)

Das ist ziemlich unpraktisch.

Wie kann ich das Datums-Format umstellen, damit wieder nach dem tatsächlichen Erscheinungsdatum sortiert werden kann?

Hello, is there a way to rearrange the Analyst Workspace in Workspaces without having to remove and re-add all the dashboards?  I need to re-order some of the Dashboard items in a more convenient way for our Analysts (Move less-used to bottom, etc)

Hi everyone, I know there are a bunch of documents on this issue but the issue is I cannot close a ticket as I get this error. As I am new to LanDesk, I am still unsure of all of the locations I should be looking to possibly do this. A user put in a ticket and I am certain that the subject field has too many characters and that is why I am getting this error. However, I cannot assign the ticket to myself because I get this error so therefore I cannot close it. Any ideas? Thank you

Android (Samsung S7) modem configuration for TAPI Line?

Is it possible to configure an android device (Samsung S7) to work as the TAPI Line modem for GM Premium?  When I plug this device into the Windows 7 computer, device manager recognizes it as a "SAMSUNG Mobile USB Modem" and Goldmine places it as a TAPI Line. However upon dialing the Phone Dial er pop up will not pick up,,, and then the box "Disconnected: No Answer" displays. I would think there are additional settings in Device Properties that need to be configured???  This would be a great way manager and track calling without requiring WiFi.  THANKS!

Hello,

I'm using LDMS 207.3.2 and I want to use OS Provisioning.

 

I have a problem with Self-Electing Subnet Services. The PXE Representative elected is not a device that always

works : its state is often "deactivated" and I can't change it on my own.

 

I would like to have a single PXE Rep on my subnet (for instance, a computer I have chosen before, with PXE service  activated in client connectivity). How can I do that ?

How can I set a Category "FullName" with a string via a calculation?

I'm looking to set the Category.FullName with a text string via a calculation, as I'm getting the equivalent of the FullName from another source.

 

import System

static def GetAttributeValue(Request):

     CAT = Request._DOC5600Category

     Value = ????????

     return Value

 

CAT is a string.

Value calculation using CAT is what I'm looking for.

 

The GetNamedObject will return the Named attribute, but I need the FullName.

winlogon event

Hi All

 

We are looking to reduce user logon times as much as possible.

Upon investigation in the Insight/logon reports, the majority of the login time is reported as "winlogon event"

This is listed as EM PreDesktop and comes before all the EM policy events.

 

Unfortunately this is very generic and hard to improve on without more information.

 

Has anyone else experienced this/ have any suggestions please?

Service Desk Framwork upgrade running for 6 hours

Hi all,

Currently attempting a framework upgrade on the Config center. This has been running for 6 hours now and it is still sat there on upgrade 1 of 2.

We are running Landesk version 2016

Please see attached screen shot. PLease can you advise if this is correct or should it be quicker?

I don't want to leave it over night as we attempted this previously and the upgrade didn't work (no errors showed, but log files do not indicate an upgrade took place)

couldn't login to any user issue

Hi ,

 

During the setting up and migration  of Goldmine 2018 .  Some users is not able to edit or add any additional contact except the admin user.

 

i went into the user setting as administrator and set the login pointer of database to common . After i exit the system .  i was unable to enter using the

regular password as before .. and i tried several users without success .

 

 

wonder, what could have went wrong .. and how to rescue this situation.

 

hope some of you may shed some light  and thanks in advanced
