Hallo,

 

ich habe hier eine Basis Software Installation (mit Autologin d.h. mit dem Netinstall Agent) mit der alle Rechner betankt werden. Anhand der Installation Order ID werden die einzelne SW Pakete in einer genau festgelegten Reihenfolge installiert.
da es etliche Pakete sind muss dazwischen auch ein Reboot eingebaut werden da sonst andere nachfolgende Pakete Probleme damit haben.
Ich nutze für den reboot ein eigenes Paket mit
InitiateSystemShutdown+EndInstallerSession
Leider wird nicht gleich ein reboot ausgeführt ... der Netinstall Agent installiert zwar dann keine Pakete mehr aber der Netinstall Service läuft an und installiert weiter munter Pakete und iwann wird während einer Installation der Rechner hart runtergefahren...
Danach passen die Installationen nicht.

 

Wie löst ihr das Problem dass gleich ein Reboot erfolgt und auch der Service keine Pakete mehr installieren kann.

 

das ist doch ein BUG. bei InitiateSystemShutdown+EndInstallerSession
darf nichts mehr installiert werden... oder was verhindert den reboot?

Wir haben vor einiger Zeit auf Netinstall 5.8 mit OSD 3.2 upgedatet. Die alten OSD-setups funktionieren weiterhin (wenn man die alten tftp-images verwendet), neu erstellte auf Basis von OSD 3.2 jedoch nicht richtig: Es scheint Probleme bei der Installation des Netinstall-Services zu geben (Was ja, wenn ich das richtig verstanden habe, jetzt von osdstart.vbs erledigt wird). Der Rechner bleibt nach dem Autologon mit der Meldung "No NetInstall Server currently available..." hängen und EndInstallationProcess wird nicht ausgeführt. Der Zugriff auf die Netinstall-Freigabe klappt aber prinzipiell, denn das Verzeichnis %ProgramFiles%\NetInst wird kopiert.
Laus OSDStart.log wird mit dem Benutzer, welcher im Setup-Builder als Administrator eingetragen ist verbunden (in unserem Fall username: install, was wohl auch klappt.

Am Anfang sieht man, das er Dateien kopieren kann, weiter hinten kann er dann aber nicht mit der Freigabe verbinden. Der user BIT
i_service hat Leserechte auf die Freigabe, allerdings wird dieser offensichtlich nicht verwendet. Im Eventlog des Server unter "Security" sieht man, dass die Verbindung mit Username Administrator aufgebaut wird, also dem lokalen Administrator des Clients - diesen kennt der NetInstall-Server natürlich nicht.
Wieso versucht er es nicht als ni_service? Hat jemand nen Tipp, wie man das hinbiegen kann. (Abgesehen davon, den lokalen Netinstall-Admin auch auf dem NetInstall-Server anzulegen bzw. den Gast-Zugang auf dem Server zu aktivieren)

We have many request offerings and I would like a list of the fields used in each of the request offerings.  One list for all would even be helpful.  Where do I find this information.

I have an email for similar requests that goes to the customer. Fields are not required.  I want to only show the populated fields and answers in the email notification and not the blank ones. 

 

Partial Example:

User ID: $(GetSRPValue(RecId, "UserID"))

First Name: $(GetSRPValue(RecId, "FName"))

Middle Initial: $(GetSRPValue(RecId, "MiddleInitial"))

Last Name: $(GetSRPValue(RecId, "LName"))

 

If the middle initial is left blank, I don't want it to show on the email.

 

Email would only have:

UserID:  asmith

First Name:  Andrew

Last Name:  Smith

I looked at https://community.ivanti.com/docs/DOC-45871 and am unsure of where to find the default blacklist. This is not affecting everyone in the environment, just users on a particular image. The personalization group is the same as another group that does not have the issue. The image is used in a persistent pool. I am able to launch reader without issue as a new user in that pool.

I'm running 2016 SP3 (self electing subnet services)

 

1. Do you have to push a full agent with the PXE set to make a computer a PXE server or is there a easier way.

 

2. If you no longer want a computer to be chosen as a PXE server do you have to Uninstall the complete agent then install a agent without the PXE set?

Hi Everyone

 

 

I just load balanced the web servers, meaning i had two web server and load balanced them using net scalar

 

 

now when i access the application using the load balanced IP i get the attached login page which now shows up to sign in using the configdb or Diamond application servers

 

 

Please advice if i am to add the load balanced IP to the individual web servers and where exactly

Good Afternoon,

 

I wanted to start a friendly discussion on everyone's experiences with Ivanti 2018.1 so far.  I am wondering if the problems we are having are an issue with an unknown bug (which i highly doubt) or something else on our end.

 

Currently our problem is random, but templates fail to deploy usually on the Deployment of packages stage of the template.  But a template that takes normally say 2 hours to run, now takes 5 or more hours to run and most of the time fails.  It seems to be completely random (location based).  Our network team states that they see nothing wrong.  We do have an active case open and working with support, but wanted feedback from anyone using 2018.1.

 

Our other experiences so far are with Network Map:  Even though we are not discovering over WAP but the agent discovered all nodes from our laptop devices from our wireless subnets.  It also discovered users home networks and added them to our network MAP and not sure how we can remove that.  i haven't contacted support about this as our other issue is more important.  For the time being we disabled Network mapping.

 

Another possible issue is with PXE Booting.  I had PXE booting working in 2017.3 and since upgrading to 2018.1 I seem to not be able to detect a PXE rep on the subnet.  Again becuase of the other issue, I have not looked into this at this time.

 

Outside of that, everything else seems to be going great.

 

So that being said, what have your experiences been?

I am currently trying to figure out how to set up a scope so that a limited user can provision a machine in a specific Device Group, but also has the ability to Provision BareMetal Machines.

 

Any ideas or thoughts behind this?

 

We are currently on 2018.1 of Ivanti Endpoint Manager so far.

Hopefully a simple one!

 

I want to send an email to the customer when an analyst adds a note to a Service Request. That was simple - Business Rule - on Link > Relationship ServiceReqContainsJournal:Journal#Notes > trigger an email

 

What I can't get my head round is how to format the conditional expression so this only fires when PublishToWeb in the Journal#Note is True

 

What is the syntax to reference the linked object?

had an earlier issue with one of the downloads for this not downloading, downloaded it manually fixed that, but now, even though a vast majority of the installs show as successful and I have done reboots and rescans, the affected machines still show as detected even though they were patched.

 

just looking at the history, the reason for those machines is "the client file rainstall.exe is below the minimum version"

I have previously used Lumension 4.6 which used a license file called endpoint.lic. I am currently installing Application and Device Control 5.1.2 and have tried to use the same license, this does not work. I then logged onto the Avanti Portal and downloaded the new license files for version 5.1.2 and dropped them into C:\Windows\Syswow64\ as directed by the setup guide, these still don't work.

I have noticed that I now have two license files to download instead of one and also their names have been slightly changed. My question here is, how do I get the installation to see these licenses?

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there ,

 

I have several machines that fail when installing patches with the error message " status marked as detected because pre-req check failed."

I saw on a document provided by ivanti that the problem is due to the registry key "Common AppData"= "C:\ProgramData"

Is there any BAT or script that i can use to deploy this key to all my affected machines plzz !!!

The Application Setup - Customer Information page is part of the Application Setup workspace which we could use to add internal customers or externalcustomers (other company we support) who have purchased a product or service from our company and require support.

 

Base on the screen shot here, we could not find the external customers to configure the details. Please advise.

When I resolve the Parent of a Major Incident, the Children are not resolving.

 

On my Children Business Object, I have Propagate Actions set to True.

On both Closures and Resolutions Business Objects in Manage Actions they are set to Propagate to children.

 

Yet they do not resolve when I resolve the Parent Incident.

 

Does anyone have any idea why this is not working?

One of our more alert helpdesk staff noticed that when we add a note to a call - all the times are synced correctly.

When we add a "customer note" the time on the window is one hour out.

looking at the 2 "create date" attribs in object manager - one has "adjust for time zone = true" and the other false.

Problem solved! well , no . Its greyed out in object manager and I cant change it! any ideas?
