Problem with Configuration Item Attribute for Raise User on Self Service End User Window

Hi Guys

 

Having a mind block yet again !!

 

We're in the process of designing the End User "Log an Incident" windows and stuff for Self Service (7.4) and I've hit a stumbling block.

 

Because we wanted the window when opened to be prepopulated (and read only) with the logged on user's details (Name, Email address, Telephone etc) but at the same time have an Analysts Incident window in console appear blank for the Raise User we created a relationship between User and Incident called SelfServiceUser and then with copy rules all the fields populate with the current logged on user's details - lovely.

 

However, we weren't really thinking ahead on this and when we put the Configuration Item attribute on the window which is set to "Is list user config items?" = True, it is returning all config items and not just those associated with the user.  Once the window is saved and magic happens in the background and the Raise User attribute is properly populated then when selected only the CIs assoc to the user appear.

 

So does anyone have any bright ideas on how to get this to work pre save?  Basically we don't trust our users to pick properly from dropdowns containing loads of choices so having Raise User for them to pick themselves is a no no as is giving them the full list of CIs to choose from.

 

Any help greatly appreciated
