I'm currently looking at upgrading to Service Desk 7.6, the only thing holding us back at present is the requirement for Google Chrome Framework for Internet Explorer.
Our company's standard browser is IE8 - which for our end users means they need to install the chrome framework. Obviously we want to try and push this via group policy or something similar to ensure they don't need to install this when prompted, so they can just get to the self service portal without any prompts.
My quesion really, has anyone else been stopped in their tracks when planning to upgrade to 7.6 because of this?
If so how have you handled the chrome framework update?
I've done a fair amount of research into the chrome framework plug-in and while there's no problem pushing this out, there is a number of things to watch out for, e.g. chrome framework updating automatically and the requirement to install google updates for enterprise into active directory to manage the push, further updates and other features.
Thoughts appreciated.
