I have a number of "line item total" attributes which have calculations based on the quantity & cost of line items being requested.
We have a requirement to then add totals of all line items together and display in a "Grand Total" attribute. However, since there are calculations already on the line item "Total" attributes, I cannot create a calculation on them.
To facilitate a workaround, I have used copy rules to copy the line item totals into dummy attributes created (that do not have calculations on them). I can then add a calculation to the the dummy attributes to get my grand total. All seems to work fine but I am just wondering if this is stable enough as I have concerns about the reliability of copy rules, especially in web access. Which is primarily where my customer will use this.
If anyone has implemented a grand total in another way or using copy rules as described, I would be interested in hearing if this has proved stable.
Thanks
Keith
