LANDesk Managment Console 9.6 on Xenapp 6.5
We recently published LANDesk Management Console 9.6 on our Xenapp 6.5 farm.
The Server is running Win 2008 R2 X64.
The issue we are seeing is that when we launch the management console the login screen flashes then disappears.
I look at the Citrix Receiver Connection Center, and it shows it is connected to the Server that the LANDesk management console is installed on.
I also look at the Server, and in task manager I see it started the console.exe being the process is running. It can take multiple attempts to finally get the login screen to come up.
Has anyone seen this?

Duplicate devices for all Mac agents
I have around 2 dozen Mac's deployed in our office and remotely, all of them are showing as duplicate devices. For instance, I sort by Serial Number and the same Serial Number shows up 14 times with oldest Inventory scan showing 2 weeks ago. For this serial number, some of the device names are the same and some are device names of a complete different laptop most often with Windows OS installed. The user "Full Name" and computer "LDAP Location" always shows correctly for that serial number. Can someone shed some light on why I would receive so many duplicates and why the device name is often wrong?
Simple SQL query to output users with department name
Hey Guys,
I was wondering if anyone knows how to link users with their departments in landesk using SQL.
What I need is a query that lists all users (raised users) who have logged an incident or request against Department name. I know this can be done in query and report designer. But I was hoping for the SQL equivalent.
So far I can output all the users but the department name is in Hexadecimal format (guid). I know the table usr_department shows the list of available departments but how do I join this table with tps_user so it simply shows all users and their corresponding department?
Any help would be appreciated.

Use the Logon/Logoff Data for a Report
I m looking at our test upgraded server to LDMS 9.6 SP2 and want to be able to get a report that uses the Logon events in the Clean/Repair History of the Security and Patch Information report.
I think I have found the relevant field in a Query and it seems to pull back what I want but I also need to be able to use a date parameter.
We have been asked if we can provide a daily report of users that have logged on at each of our branches and I was hoping to use this information for that.
Anyone any thoughts?

enable I2of5 barcode on MC9190G
If I use DataWedge, I can scan an I2of5 barcode. However, I would like to try and allow Wavelink to handle the scanning so that we have control over when the scanner is available (too many scans happening in quantity fields). This one barcode type has us stumped because we cannot get Wavelink Studio to recognize it. One oddity is that the only way to get DataWedge (or the sample scanning program) to recognize it is to set the length from 1 to 40. For some reason, it is initially set to 14 to 10. I am setting the min and max length when trying to enable it with the AddBarCode() method, but it will still not read it. Is there anything else that we can do other than turning DataWedge back on? It's becoming a PITA when they scan the item twice and one time is on a quantity field and it starts spitting out a million labels or tries to receive a million units. Obviously, having complete control over when the scanner is enabled will get around that, so that is the direction we would like to go, but our largest vendor uses I2of5 and so we must be able to read that as over 50% of our inventory is already barcoded for that.

LDMS 9.6 SP2 w patch - EPSUI is freezing up.
When attempting to write new white list entries under a non-admin account, it locks up and opens multiple EPSUI windows while it continues to attempt communication. (i left the client overnight and had a dozen windows the next morning). And under admin account, it accepts the chosen prompt to learn and closes the window, but the new entries are not being learned, they keep coming back to prompt the user. This must be a new feature as I've never seen it before. Can i remove this portion of EPS? I only use device control. I have no need for application blocking. (it's not enabled in the agent configuration)

Remove or hide the 'Save' button for users?
Hi all.
Through the course of rolling out servicedesk to our end users, we've found that having three buttons actually confuses people. The buttons being Save & Submit, Save, and Cancel.
Cancel and Save & Submit are easy enough but people forget what they are doing and save their ticket without submitting it.
Is there a way to just hide or remove the Save button all together? I try to tell people that its the equivalent to saving a draft email...edited and saved but not sent, but its still an extra step/possible trap for users in the long run and removing that button would elminate any issues all together with confusion.
I know you can hide all three fom a site, but I don't see how you can hide/remove just one.
Adjust color palette for Web Desk charts
In 7.8.2 I see the charts are flat and have various new (better) colors. Is there a way or will there ever be a way to change that palette much like there was with console?

I am looking for the example cvs file on my core and cannot find a file named ImportLicense.csv. Does anyone have a copy of this file? I would like to import licenses.
Importing license data from a CSV file
You can import existing license data from a previous version of LANDESK Management Suite or from another data source. The data must be saved as a CSV file.
A sample CSV file (ImportLicense.csv) is included in the LDMAIN share of the core server (in the LDMAIN\LANDesk\SAM folder), for your reference. Note the following guidelines for creating a CSV file to import license data:
- The only required column in the CSV file is the Name column.
- If you don’t know what to put into a column, leave it blank. The import process will add a default value for any blank column.
- After the license property columns, there are columns for associated products. They are called “Associated Product 1” and “Product 1 Version”, “Associated Product 2” and “Product 2 Version”, and so on. Put the product name in the “Associated Product x” column and the product version in the “Product x Version” column. If there is no product version, leave the column blank. The import process will look for matching products with the supplied product name and version. If multiple products are found with the same name and version, all of the matching products will be associated with the license. Any number of products can be associated to a license.
- The import will not override existing licenses. If an existing license matches the name of a license being imported, a new license will be created with the name of “<License name> [1]”. The number in brackets will be incremented with each additional match so that every license has a unique name.
To import license data
- Prepare a CSV file with the license data you want to import, using the guidelines listed above.
- In the Software license monitoring console, click Products > Licenses. On the toolbar, click the Actions > Import from CSV.
- Browse to the location of your CSV file, and then click Open. The license data is added to the database and is displayed in the Product>Licenses page.
To review the imported licenses and edit the data
- Click Product>Licenses and select a license in the list.
- On the toolbar, click Edit. Review the data on each of the five pages of the edit license dialog (Definition, Associated products, Records, Purchase, and Shipping).
- Click Save when you have finished

This error occurs when attempting to Patch the 9.6 SP1 Core to 9.6 SP2.
I have also submitted a high priority support request but am still waiting on a response. If anyone has found a way to resolve this issue let me know.
What i have discovered so far is that the error message below shows that it is looking for the two files in an invalid location.
Between the ManagementSuite directory and ldlogon there is an extra "\" in the line.
If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

I'm struggling to get this configuration to work properly
The login and password are working fine, but the command is not being executed. I'm wandering what i should fill on the command prompts/responses fields, in order to get this done.
Basically what i need, is that whenever the client connects to my server, an specific BAT file must run automatically.
