Windows 10 PC Settings elevation

How does Application Control handle Windows 10 PC Settings?

 

A specific scenario.  For whatever reason, some of our Windows 10 users cannot change their timezone.  The option is greyed out.  I have added the Privilege to our users to run Date & Time Component.  If they go through the Control Panel it works, if they go through PC Settings (or right clicking the time in the lower right corner) they cannot change the time zone, still greyed out.

 

I'm not looking to solve this specific issue, since we found some registry entries that help.

 

My observation seems to point to Application Control not elevating PC Settings "Components" like it does for Control Panel.  Is this true?  Is there another way to elevate these?  I know you can run Settings from the command line via "start ms-settings:..."  Is the current practice to elevation this way, and will it work?  Assuming worst, is there a plan to add a comparable function to the Control Panel Component escalation?

Policy Change Request

Hello,

 

I have a issue with the application manager here.

 

We are using the Version 10.1.423 from application control and 10.1.475 for the CCA.

I have enabled Policy Change Requests in the Applcation Mananger policy and deployed the policy to one of my test clients, in this case it´s Windows 8.1

 

I can see in the management console, that the client is green and have 100% AND I can see that the latest policy is installed on the test client.

 

BUT I cant see the policy change request context or desktop icon. Why?

 

And yes, I do have a valid licence ;-)

There are no errors in event log. The licence check passed.

Update AppSense Management Center Prerequisites

Can the AMC prerequisites be updated independent from the server installer? We have installed AppSense Management Center 10.1 FR3, but it looks like the prerequisites for MS VC++ 2015 still show 14.0.24123.  The latest VC++ 2015 that can be downloaded is 14.0.24212.  It looks like the only way to update the prerequisite is to click on "Delete Installer" and then "Upload Installer." When I tried that with the AMC console, I received the attached popup, but it succeeded.  I went to http://URL/ManagementServer and I was able to download the VC++ runtime and it is the latest, but the AMC console still shows 14.0.24123.  Is this supported?

Change customer on an Incident from Internal Services to another user based on sender's email address

I have a lot of servers that send email alerts to the email listener which in turn creates incidents.  Each server email address starts with the same three characters.  The email options are set so that when a ticket is created from an email and there isn't an employee record, it links it to the Internal Services user.

 

How can I change the customer on the incident from Internal Services to another specified employee for the tickets that are created from an email that starts with those same characters?

Add Journal visibility tab.

Good afternoon,

Could someone help us on adding at tab in the information field to show the Journal entry. Right now, when we create a Comment (fig. 1) or a new Journal (Triage) (fig 2), we does not know it was entered unless we go to them. so we would like to add a tab (Fig 3) that shows that information.  Please help, thanks. -Jimmy Tang

Application Blocked even with Trusted Vendor certificate

OS: Windows 7 SP1, x86/x64

Application Control 10.1 FR3

 

I'm testing Trusted Vendor on this platform; however, applications are still blocked. In this instance, I'm testing GoToMeeting by adding the LogMeIn, Inc. certificate to Everyone / Trusted Vendors, but it continues to be blocked. The same configuration works in my test environment on Windows 10.

 

Anyone got any pointers as to why Trusted Vendor would not be working?

how to add tab to show journal or comment.

Good afternoon,

Could someone help us on adding at tab in the information field to show the Journal entry. Time Components - Change Background Color for Current Month only

Hi All,

 

I am currently using Time Components (last 13 months, including current month) for one of my dashboard.

As you can see below, Alert Rules has been set.

 

I would like to know, if we can only apply the Alert Rules across all the months exceptthe current month.

So ideally, the current month (2nd last column is all in red) i would like the background to be green.

Calculation Help

I am wanting to hold in a attribute various attributes combined, then use this to send data out of Service Desk to a Webservice.

 

I have got about 90% of the attributes i need working in the calculation.

 

The Calculation is a Before Save, the field I am having an issue with are:

  • Incident Guid
  • Incident Ref
  • Date Created

 

I have got these in the calculation but don't get populated until the incident is saved and a dependency in the calculation is changed.

 

I need these populating once the incident is first saved.

CI Manufacturer affects the Model List

Hi Everyone,

 

We are adding several drop down menus such as Manufacturer and Model. From our previous asset management system, whenever we pick a manufacturer from the drop down window, it affects the model drop down menu and lists only the models for a particular manufacturer. How can this be done through Ivanti?

Pending Status Timer

I'm curious if this has been done somewhere or if there's a forum discussion that I just haven't stumbled upon yet. I am looking to create a pending status with a timer built within it. I'm working with our sys-ops team to develop a server decommission process within our current landesk environment (2016.3 presently). They would like the ticket to go into a holding status for roughly 30 days after the server in question has been turned off and removed from our monitoring service. There have been multiple instances where a server is needed again so they have defaulted to a 30 day wait period before removing from AD, DNS, etc. Conceptually I would like the ticket to go into a 'Pending' status and then after 30 days the ticket would automatically be put into an Open or custom status so that it is more visible once again and potentially assigns to the appropriate group (after 30 days I would imagine it would get lost in the queue).

 

Wanted to put a feeler out there to see if it's been done and if there would be any tips on how to accomplish the above before I try and re-invent the wheel

agent blocks .bat file from GPO

I have made an GPO on Windows Server 2016 that runs a .bat file when logging off and on.

But when I activate the agent (pfwsmgr.exe) also with a GPO then my script does not work.

 

Any idea to unblock this?

And yes. I know I can do it with Workspace

DSM Agent on desktops, gathers user group memberships. polling interval?

When the DSM Agent updates on the workstation, it tells the DSM BLS server what groups the currently logged in user is a member of.  How often does this process run?  And how can I change the frequency of how many times a day this runs?

 

Also how do I change the frequency of how often the DSM agent checks for updates from the DSM servers?

Merge to PDF?

At one time there was a link that could supposedly merge GoldMine data to a PDF file, similar to the way a Word document works. I don't recall if I had never tried it, but as far as I know there were people using the feature.

 

I have been asked by a customer if I can see if it's still possible. Looking at some old compatibility matrix documents I see that up through GoldMine 2013, Acrobat Professional 7/8/9 were listed as options in the "Integration" section.

Clean install on server to existing database - HELP

I'm doing a "clean" install onto my server: I deleted all related old GM files and registry entries. Now when I'm installing the "new" GM, in the installation dialog it is asking for the location of of the gm.ini and dbalias.ini files. Since this is a new clean install, those files don't exist. If I select Install to connect to a new database, it wants to create a new database and not connect to my existing database. Do I have to install and create a new dummy database then link to my existing database? I've done this before but don't recall having to jump through these hoops...

completing a recurring appointment sometimes affects all related recurrences

Often, but not always, completing a recurring calendar appointment causes all associated future events to be completed.

Am not always given the option to complete the single event. When this happens, a warning asks if I want to complete all events.

Anyone else running into this? Any suggestions?
