Windows 10 LTSB?

Hallo zusammen,

 

hat jemand schon Erfahrungen mit Windows 10 LTSB gesammelt?

Die Einführung von Windows 10 ist ja irgendwie unausweichlich. Aber nach der interessanten NWC-Roadshow kommen halt doch verschiedene Fragen auf bzw. wir machen uns Gedanken über verschiedene Szenarien.

Für den Standard-Office-Arbeitsplatz wird (da Volumenlizenzen vorhanden) ein "normales" Windows 10 Enterprise sicherlich zum Einsatz kommen. Mit dem Nachteil oder Effekt, dann man hier relativ häufig aktualisieren muss (Inplace-Upgrades). Sprich, bei einem normalen Lebenszyklus eines Rechners von 3 Jahren wird dieser min. ein, eher zwei oder gar drei Inplace-Upgrades bekommen. Länger lebende Rechner dementsprechend mehr.

 

Wenn ich jetzt überlege, wie lange das zu Hause mit dem Upgrade von Win 7 auf Win 10 gedauert hat, geht das in der Firma ja nicht mehr tagsüber, sprich das Upgrade muss nach Feierabend laufen. Allerdings gibt es bei uns auch genügend Rechner, die im 24/7-Betrieb laufen, hier müssen wird uns überlegen, was sinnvoller ist:

a) die LTSB-Variante nehmen und hoffen, dass die fehlenden Funktionien dort auch nicht gebraucht werden

b) regelmäßig die Rechner tauschen und durch aktuelle Installationen ersetzen. Sofern das mit der installierten Spezialsoftware und den Lizenzbedingungen verbeinbar ist...

 

Die LTSB-Variant hätte dann auch zur Folge, dass ein "anderes" Betriebssystem zum Einsatz kommt, sprich  man hat zuerst mal ein Win 10 1709 Enterprise und dann ein Win 10 Enterprise LTSB. Später werden sich die Zahl der Installationsquellen erhöhen, wenn dann Win 10 1803 und 1809 hinzukommen, und irgendwann wird es auch Win 10 LTSB 2020 (oder ähnlich) geben...

 

Wie ist hier Eure Planung?

In Telnet CE FN F9 and F7 no funktion

Hello all,

 

we have change from Motorola to Zebra Warkabout pro 4.

We use telnet ce 7.3 and we need the F7 and F9 Button.

If i press the Button, no function with CTRL with blue FN no reaction.

so i have do from a other forum,edit the emulationparameters.i must press the 7 button 1sek to press F7.

it‘s work but it is not the best solution.

i want use the F7 With the blue FN Button,what can i do?

Can´t change scheduler login

Hello,

 

what are the requirments to change login in the scheduler service? When I´m trying to change it in Configure/Services/Scheduler/Change login it won´t apply.

 

It ends up with an error "Failed to grant logon as a service rights". The credentials are for the client PC,

RES Workspace : Upgrade from 2016SR1 to 10.2.500.1

Hi,

 

I plan to recently upgrade RES Workspace from 9.12.1.0 (2016 SR1) to 10.2.500.1.


Why? we are currently upgrading our Citrix platform to 7.15LTSR.

 

As we do not have yet a testing platform, I'd like to know the rollback procedure in case of any issue.

I thought:

- SQL databases FULL backup

- VMware Snapshot (plus Veeam Backup) of my CItrix DDC (RES Console installed on it)

 

Do I have to perform anything else?

Does anyone already perform this upgrade?

MBBScanner has stopped working

Hello,

 

after upgrading agents to 2017.3, when running inventory scan, many computers experience error  MBBScanner has stopped working.

 

Event viewer shows the following:

 

It has not happened on my test machines. So far I have disabled the Scheduled scan, but this is not a solution.

 

Thank you for any input or suggestion how to resolve this.

Unable to access the shared folder?

I'm trying to save dashboards in the Shared Folder, but its showing the below error (same with Administrator user also).

Need to update fields submitted on a Service Request to the CI Object

Submitting a Service Request with 2 fields who's contents I want to have pushed to the same fields on the EnterpriseApplication CI.  I need to have the matching object name determine which EnterpriseApplication CI to update.  For instance, I submit the Service Request with the Application name "Zookeeper"  Two fields, RegSCT Notes and RegSCI Status are on this Service Request.  Upon submitting, I need to link to the matching EnterpriseApplication CI "Zookeeper" and update the 2 matching fields on that CI from the Service Request.  I have tried to do this with a composite quick action fired from the work flow. The relationship I chose seems to give me access to all the fields in question, but the fields are not updated,

Web API

Hi All,

 

 

I have a web application in our IP Management system which creates a config file for the subnet management. I want that when this config file is created, a task is automatically created in HEAT (Ivanti SM) and this config file should be attached to this Task record in HEAT. I want to achieve this using Web API.

 

 

Has someone already done something like that? I will really appreaciate some inputs on how I can achieve this (if this is even possible) as I don't have much expertise with Web APIs.

How does the inventory really work ?

Hello everyone,

 

I am a new Ivanti user and this is my first post.

 

I am a bit frustrated regarding the inventory local scheduler and I wonder if is there somebody that is facing the same issue.

 

Basically, in the Local Scheduler Command I configured the settings you can see in the attached file but I am not able to handle these tasks as desidered.

 

Although these settings, all my PCs run the inventory scan in different days and not the same days I would like for.

 

I mean, I would like that my inventories always run on Monday-Wednesda and Friday from 1:00pm to 2:00pm but it is not and I do not understand why !!

 

I configured the inventory starting from Monday till Friday but it seems that it considers Saturdays and Sundays too.

 

So, is it right (by design) or is it a bug ?

 

Just another example of a PC which will try to start the inventory on Saturday (...but it will not start it because of it will be turned off on that day):

Lastly, but not less important:

 

I have some users that complaint about the inventory because of it takes long time before finishing (sometimes till 2 or more hours) and I can not understand this too.

 

As far as I know,  based on this URL:

the PCs should run a really slight inventory if there is nothing changed from the previuos one but it does not seems because, as I wrote, it seems that inventory always scans all the folders and path that have been already scanned.

 

I really appreciate any useful information or tip on how to "fix" my issues.

Add new members to group

After the upgrade I am no longer able to add new members to group.  After a group is created, I would right click on the group name and click Add New Member(s).  It used to take me through the process again and add new members.   It does nothing now. No other screen pops up.

patching windows to 1709

Hi

 

I am very new to the forums and Landesk in general

 

I have a problem upgrading windows 10 from 1511 to 1709 using patch and compliance.

 

Here is what I've done so far

 

I followed the below guide, downloaded the ISO from our Microsoft portal, we have both Enterprise and Pro in our environment so I created a file for both of them and  Landesk accepts them both as downloaded

How to upgrade to Windows 10 Creators Edition using Ivanti Patch Manager

 

Then I distributed the ISO's to our preferred server and created a repair job

this job I sent to a specific machine and within 2 minutes it showed Success

 

now for my stress factor..

 

Noting happened on the machine itself, I cannot see the package on the machine and it does not patch.

 

I have created several software packages and set up PXE booting for the environment but this one I cannot solve

 

I sent a package to the machine to check if I could install to it, and that works as it should

 

I hope you guys can point me in the right direction

Installing the Agent+ over the non-Agent+ using the RES Automation console

I wanted to know if the RES Automation console is able to install the Agent+ over the non-Agent+ without creating a module and running it. I have already attempted to repair the agent but it simply installs the same agent type it had before (non-Agent+, which confirms what is in the help guide). I am looking for a quick and simply way to upgrade all the current agents to the Agent+ and I would also like it to install the matching bit version based on the Windows architecture. At this time it appears that I would need to create a module with the Agent+ msi that I extracted from the console and run a job against all the systems. I would need to create conditions that would then either install the 32 bit or the 64 bit version based on the architecture of the OS. Please let me know if there is something that is simpler that I can do to accomplish this.

Sage 300, process or group rule?

Hi again!

 

I worked with Appsense support on a product called SAGE 300. However, the support rep is still looking at the the log files.

 

This application is somewhat unique because everything runs off the server:

 

\\server.name\XX\Sage 300 erp\runtime\accpac.exe

 

We have a group for Sage 300 because there are so many users. Therefore, my questions should I look into creating a group or process rule?

 

Under allowed items I am allowing the following:

 

*.dll  - allow untrusted owner

*.exe - allow untrusted owner

 

folders:

\\server name\xx\sage 300 erp\runtime - allow untrusted owner

 

I can also add user privileges if needed.

 

Checking rules analyzer - the main executable - accpac.exe is still being denied along with many DLL files.

Wer kann mir hier helfen, wo ich weiter suchen soll? Ich habe den Patch nochmal komplett eingespielt, aber das Problem besteht weiterhin.

 

Patch Management ist nicht im Einsatz, aber auf dem Management Point habe ich auch noch bei den Applikationen unter anderem "Patch Management Server" auf "incompletely installed". Ich weiß, hier gab es einen Beitrag, wie man den wohl komplett deinstalliert, aber das hat nicht funktioniert. Leider finde ich den Thread nicht mehr...

LANDesk client shows IP address of 127.0.0.1

I have a PC where the client shows that the IP address is 127.0.0.1 and I cannot contact it via LANDesk.. It isn't even in the console.  However, I can see it in AD, and I can ping it by name and see what IP address it pulls via DHCP.  How would I reestablish communication wit this equipment besides going to it and reinstalling everything manually?

Execute VBA Script from ServiceDesk

Hi,

we created a VBA-Script to open a different website and login to this automatically.

Now we are looking for a solution to execute this vba-script automatically from servicedesk while a specific action in a process was done.

Additionally some variables from the specific servicedesk action should be transferred with this script also.

 

Does anyone has a hint for us how to execute VBA - Script automatically?

Linux Agent install no core connection

Hi everyone,

 

I have some questions regarding the deploy of a linux agent on a SUSE Linux unmanaged device.

- It is possible to deploy an agent without a direct connection to the core server?

- It is possible to use ldiscan.sh to create an inventory file to later import it in the core server?

 

This is because i need only the inventory on a few machines on separate network and i would like to have all device inventory in one place.

I have already tried to manually run ldiscan.sh but while trying to solve all library prerequisites but it gave me this error:

Windows 10 ja/nein?

Hi Leute,

ich wollte euch mal fragen wie Ihr mit Windows 10 umgeht. Ich hab mich jetzt schon eine Weile damit beschäftigt und finde einige Dinge die mir zu denken geben und wo ich einfach keine Antwort zu finde.

1. Wie zum Bespiel geht Ihr mit dem Thema Updates um? Treshold 2 ist ja im November released, aber nicht mehr als ISO verfügbar. Über das APM / PatchLink wird das Update nicht bereitgestellt. Bekommt man für die alte Build noch Sicherheitsupdates? Nach meinem Veständnis eigtl nicht. Wie geht Ihr damit um?

2. Apps im Startmenü. Im Startmenü finden sich einige Apps wieder die ich im Unternehmens Feld nicht sehen möchte. Ich habe zwar schon mit einem Powershell Skript die Apps entfernen können und das auch in ein neues WIM File bekommen, allerdings ist mir aufgefallen das nach einem Updates die Apps wieder drin waren. Wie geht ihr damit um? Entfernt Ihr die Apps?

3. Was macht Ihr mit der App "Feedback" und "Support"? Diese Apps lassen sich garnicht entfernen und als Domain User ist man in der Lage in dieser App ein MS Konto anzugeben und dann fröhliche Informationen an MS zu senden...

LDAP Settings Configuration Jumpcloud Error

Hello everyone,

 

when we try to connect to the Cloud Directory Service "Jumpcloud" from one of our clients, we get the error message shown in picture 2. Something about the syntax seems to be off. Does any of you have a suggestions or experience with this?

 

We already implemented the certificate from the JumpCloud service on the server and openend the SSL port to access the Jumpcloud server.

When trying to leave the Base DN empty with following configurations we get two different error messages:
