Dears,

Using Ivanti Project Management Schedule Successor are related fine between the Tasks, However changing the time of any of the related tasks is not automatically changing the depended tasks, is this by design or i'm missing something?

Running 2017.3.

I'm looking to create a pick list of just managers, but unclear how to do this.  I'm importing employees from AD and filling in the manager (manager link) field.  Is there a way to create a pick list of just names that appear in this field, and only show that name once?  [A manager may appear many times over the employee population.]

Not send Surveys to members of a group

We don't want our IT team to fill in surveys for Incidents that they may have credited for themselves.  This is to help stop the skewed survey's we are getting.

 

For example if I open an incident for myself and complete the work, I do not want to receive a survey where I can give myself the highest marks possible.

 

Does that make sense?

How to assign organization unit based on LDAP department attribute

We currently assign Org Units through the LDAP import based on email address:

 

$(if IsRegexMatch(ParseDN(mail,  0), /my.sinclair.edu/i)

  then "Student"

  else "Staff/Faculty")

 

I would like to change that to use the department attribute so I can publish service requests for specific departments. So if the department attribute is empty, they should get "student.". If the department is "1234" (for example) then it would be assigned "HR" or if the department is "4321" then IT, any other department number would be assigned "Staff/Faculty".

 

I want to make sure I get the syntax correct. Help please?

Create Quick Close Button for Service Request

Hello everybody,

 

I want to give Helpdesk the chance to directly close a service request without creating tasks related to the SR.

 

How to I manage to get this straight? I have already searched the community and found an article that describes to to the follwing things:

 

- create a command button in service request form  - check

- link the command button to the quick action "close service request" - check

 

Now, I have opened "new service request", select a service from the catalogue, fill in the neccessary information and then press on the button "Quick Close".

 

The following error message is prompted:

 

"The following information does not satisfy validation constraints:

 

 

Required field ServiceReq.SvcReqTmplLink_RecID value must be provided.

 

 

Data in the database has changed while you were editing"

 

The quick action that is related to the button only sets the status to "Closed".
How do I manage to get what I want?

How to ignore leading zeros in a pick list used in a request offering

We have an employee ID field with nine digits and most of the employees have 1-3 zeros filled to the left. I'd like users to be able to submit request offerings without having to enter the leading zeros. Can this be accomplished for service requests?

Adding a control to the middle of a Form mega-cell

Hi!  I'm trying to add an item to the middle of a OOTB form, and I'm hitting a wall.

 

The form I am trying to modify is called Incident.DefaultForm.  For those who don't know it, this is what I see in the left-most column:

All of these fields (controls) are located in a single cell (highlighted in blue).  I'm trying to put a label (or a button, or a field, or anything) between Impact and Urgency.  But if I highlight Impact and issue the "Add Row After" command, I get a row added at the bottom of the right column.  If I just drag it over from the explorer window, it ends up at the bottom of the left column, even if I released it over the Impact field.  And once it is dropped, I can't move it up or re-arrange any of the items in this cell.

 

I'm more than willing to accept that I've missed something amazingly simple here.  I just can't find a single place where the manuals (or other experts I know) can explain how to add a field to this single mega-cell, or how to break the mega-cell back into individual cells, so I can re-merge them at the end of the exercise.

 

My hope is that somebody out there knows how to accomplish this without deleting the entire left-hand side of the form and building it again by hand.  I'm even willing to hand-hack the XML form definition if I have to.

 

Any hints/advice would be greatly appreciated.  And, it goes without saying, thanks in advance for any suggestions you can offer.

ISM Workflow - New/Next task pulls agent entered notes/information from previously agent completed task - Any Ideas

So I'd like an update to happen to populate that info (completed agent typed notes/resolution) into the next task in the workflow. So agent enters Asset Tag Number Assigned, the Hardware Serial Number, or Software License Number etc..I want this info that was entered into previous task to populate into next following task in then workflow.

(the only Idea I have is to update the completed task info to a hidden field on the SR form header > pull that info from said hidden field on SR form header to new/next task in workflow)  There has to be an easier way = -)

 

Desk side assigns new PC and notes: new asset tag# assigned > want that asset tag# (entered by agent in the task) to then populate into the next Task in the workflow to Asset Management.  This is just an example I could use this in a lot of other ways that would have larger amount of text to update.

Below screen shot with pink* shows where I want the update to happen for this simple example.

Connecting IVANTI SM to Client Chatbox

I have an interesting situation at hand

 

I have a client who utilizes an on premises chatbox solution with Artificial Intelligence to engage her customers, but they want that chatbox solution connected to IVANTI SM so that incidents and request from the chatbox are seen on SM for them to be treated

 

1. How can this be achieved using Heat API

2. Should the connection be done on the chatbox or on IVANTI SM

3. Has anyone done this before

4. How can we utilize the ivanti workflow if the connection was successful

Vanmiddag heb ik een upgrade uitgevoerd van RES Workspace Control 2015 naar Ivanti 10.2.700.1, wat op zich probleemloos is verlopen.

Het enige waar ik nu tegenaan loop is het feit dat ik heel veel foutmeldingen in de management console van Ivanti krijg, zodra er een gebruiker inlogt.

De melding ziet er als volgt uit, met wat kleine privacy aanpassingen:

Error Description: Toegang tot het pad H:\Personal Settings\Music\desktop.ini is geweigerd.

 

De H: schijf is de Home directory van de gebruikers maar dat lijkt me vanzelfsprekend.

Iemand enig idee hoe dit komt, was voor de upgrade zeker nog niet en er is niets aan rechten veranderd in de tussentijd.

New object search set up

Hi,

 

I have created my own business object but am having trouble setting up the search function in the top right corner of the workspace. It may be irrelevant, but this object is like CI in that there are multiple types all shown in the same tab.

 

I am getting the error below when selecting "Full-text Indexed" in the options for any field :

 

Currently the only field that this box will search off is the Case number which i have set as the Display field for the object. Strangely though, when I search using the case number the record comes up on the search dropdown, but when I click it or press enter all the existing records are returned anyway.

 

Any ideas?

Object Permissions

I need to implement this scenario:

 

- certain incidents must only be visible for users with a particular role

- tasks contained in such incidents should be accessible for users with any role

 

I.e., the contents of the incident itself must stay private; the incident owner can create tasks within this incident and assign them to anyone.

 

I tried to implement this using object permissions. There is a incident field called Realm that controls access; for the 'private' role I defined object permissions on Incident as 'Realm is equal to <something>', while all 'public' roles have object permissions 'Realm is not equal to <something>' to prevent them from viewing (or modifying) this incident. This works very well, as expected.

 

However, if a user with a 'public' role tries to save a task contained in a 'private' incident, an exception is raised: You do not have rights to update Incident (3CB585C3FCEB4FC9B818601FE983ECAF).

Running Rule Trace I can see a >Trigger 'Update My Item' object event 'On Update' Incident --> RunForChild: 'Update My Item'< which is defined to run on any update to incident.

 

My question is: why does an update to a task also performs an update to the related incident? Is there a way to prevent this?

 

 

I'm experiencing this on ISM 2017.2.1.

Tried to refresh again through Ops Console but get the error...

 

How do I stop the restore? or is there anything else I can try?

Updating the style for the grid view column.  Currently when TypeOfChange is Emergency it uses the IntegrationStatusAborted style.

Need to add a "Status" into the expression but not sure how to add... tried a number of other options but received errors...

$((if TypeOfChange == "Emergency" then "IntegrationStatusAborted" else "") || (if Status == "Cancelled" then "Cancel" else ""))

 

Any suggestions?
