Hello, recently we received an email with the information for licensing a Android device.

Clicking an hyperlink, it starts the activation process, and a required file was the email. After complete the registration process i can see that the email provided for us was not correct.

 

¿¿ How can we change this information ??

PnP Treiber werden nicht mehr installiert

Hallo,

mir ist in mehreren Umgebungen aufgefallen, dass PnP Pakete nicht mehr installiert werden. Laut Meldung können Dateien nicht gefunden werden. Der Path zeigt ins Temp-Verzeichnis des Runtime Users. Bei der Überprüfung finde ich die angegebene Datei in dem angegebenen Verzeichnis nicht.

Kennt jemand das Problem? Habe das Problem bereits an den Support gemeldet und auch die Info bekommen, dass das Problem bekannt sei und ich die Dateien in das "Work" Verzeichnis des Paketes kopieren soll (inkl. Replikation). Die Fragen die noch unbeantwortet bleibt ist, was der Kollege mit dem "Work" Verzeichnis des Projektes meint. Ins Extern$ Verzeichnis habe ich die Dateien auch mal kopiert, aber leider ohne Erfolg.

We are randomly seeing users which are getting the above errors when trying to launch either Word or Excel.

The error stops either application from working. Our support teams are also saying they have seen it with other Office applications too. Other people can log into the same PCs using accounts that are using the same personalization templates and they are fine.

 

It's happening both on our Desktop and Citrix infrastructure.

 

The issue is resolved by deleting all registry settings for the 'Microsoft Office 2016 / 365 group'.

 

We have implemented the fix detailed in 'Office 2016 applications failing to launch or hanging intermittently ' but it hasn't made any difference.

 

I have turned on as much client logging as possible to the local appsense client log, but there aren't any personailzation errors.

 

I've exported the registry from one of the faulty users and imported into a blank user and the issue does not occur, even when logging into the same PC.

 

We do not see this issue at all on those user groups that are not using this personalization template.

 

Has anyone had similar issues or got any ideas?

"Download pending" status in Portal Manager after Windows suspends.

Hi, the reason of this thread is the following.

 

I use Ivanti Portal Manager in a lot of computers in my organization. When I start Windows and try to install any software from Portal Manager, it works fine. But after the computers get suspended (and resumed), locked or just used for other things for a couple hours, the Portal Manager stops working ok.

When any user try to install a software, the progress bar in the Portal stays in "Download pending" forever, at the moment the only solution I've found was restart the computer, but is not practical at all for the user...

I've tried restarting manually the Ivanti services but doesn't work, and looked for similar posts in the community but doesn't found anyone reporting the same problem, which is weird.

 

Ivanti 2017 v3.

Windows 8.1, 10

Windows 10 Tiles empty with res10tiles.xml filled

Quick environment info:

- Ivanti workspace control 10.2.9

     * using "Custom Resources" with "DefaultTileLayout_Windows10.xml" file
- Windows 10, v1709 with latest windows updates

- Desktop shell configured "Use Microsoft Windows Shell as the default Shell"

- non-persistent VDI

- Users have "Modify" NTFS permissions in own userprofile (\RES Settings)

- No GPO configuration for Start Menu

 

Issue is that the "res10tiles.xml" file is not loaded correctly.

The "DefaultTileLayout_Windows10.xml" is loaded correctly when the res10tiles.xml file isn't in .".\RES Settings\".

The moment you logoff, "res10tiles.xml" is created in the "..\RES Settings\" folder and the file is filled with the information of the "DefaultTileLayout_Windows10.xml". (That works fine)
When you logon and the Ivanti Workspace control agent has loaded all the settings completley, your tiles in the "Start Menu" is "empty", but the "res10tiles.xml" filled.

If you logoff the "res10tiles.xml" is modified, and empty because the Tiles in the Start Menu or Empty, so your in  a loop.

 

LOOP:

Tiles filled in Start Menu,  log off, "res10tiles.xml" is filled, log on, Tiles empty in Start Menu, "res10tiles.xml" is still filled, log off, "res10tiles.xml" is empty, logon, Tiles empty in Start Menu.

 

 

Is there a solutions for this, or does someone else have the same issues?

An unexpected error occurred whilst communicating with the management Server. The operation timed out.

I have a user who cannot launch the Ivanti Management Console from his workstation.  I have validated that he is connecting to the correct Management Server but when he click's connect to logon he gets the following errors:

 

An unexpected error occurred whilst communicating with the management Server.  The operation timed out.

or

An unexpected error occurred whilst communicating with the management Server.  The underlying connection was closed:  An unexpected error occurred on a receive..  Unable to read data from the transport connection.

 

The same user can launch the Management Console from another workstation so it is not a permissions issue.  The user can launch the Environment Manager and Personalization Manager consoles from his workstation without issues.

 

We have tried un-installing and re-installing the Management Console.  Clearing his Appsense Personalization Profile and rebuilding his local user profile.  Is there any logs we can look at to find the root cause if the problem or any additional troubleshooting steps?

A notification is not sent to all recipients when both the group and the user are specified. It is sent only to the user. The "Notify Specified Recipient (s)" checkbox is checked

 

Question about RES AM license XML (SA incentives)

Hello,

 

I am writing a script that gets license information (total licenses/used licenses) out of the database for reporting purposes.

 

I found out that the license information is in an encoded XML format in the imgData1 column in the table tblSettings. And for most customers I get the correct information that way.

 

But for one customer I see in the AM console '+67 SA incentive' for a license, but I can't find anything in the license XML about this incentive, so the total license count is too low in my report.

 

What triggers this incentive?

CustomAppUserModeliDs.xml

Hi,

 

We have created a CustomAppUserModeliDs.xml file to allow multiple instances of custom apps to appear in the start menu which works a treat. However, we have a domain that consists of both Windows 10 and Windows 7 operating systems.

 

Would the .xml file being pushed out to Windows 7 machines be detrimental to their configuration?

 

How does Widows 10 reference the CustomAppUserModeliDs.xml file once it is in Custom Resources? Would it be possible to place the file in a start-up script to copy it into the Custom Resources folder, or does the act of allowing Ivanti to copy it there from the Custom Resources configuration screen make a difference?

 

Alternatively, is there a way to specify which items are downloaded to a specific OS from Custom Resources, or is it a catch all?

5250 Reset key auto execute

I am using an android device with Kit Kat and Velocity.  Is there a way to create a script that will perform an auto reset on a 5250 session when there is an error?  I have setup the enter key to do this, but it is a pain.  My computer terminal session auto resets when you press the next key.  I think there is probably some way to do this with velocity, but I am new to the scripting on this device and an not clear on how to do this exactly.  It looks like I could use the getText() function to see is a message is at the bottom of the screen and then somehow execute the reset key.  Any help with how to create a script, in the project I have created, would be appreciated.

Hi,

Im trying to ensure that all our Employees have 2 roles assigned (Self Service User, and Self Service Mobile)

 

Is there a way I can export a list so I can see who has what role?

 

I looked in the Employee module, but I am not getting accurate results, I also looked at the Role module, but there is no export option.

 

Any ideas?


Leaving Agents and Configs until last whilst in place upgrade 8.6 to 10.2

Hi,

 

I'm planning on upgrading our EM+personalization, PM, AM environment from 8 to 10.2. I've read the docs online and it suggests this order:

 

Upgrade Server+DB

Stop IIS on all management servers

Load Balancing needs to be disabled. Disable VIPs.

Install Appsense DesktopNow onto 1st Appsense management server

Once complete, click "Configure" next to Management Server

SCU launches and upgrade DB

Start IIS on this server. SCU should open. Repair all variances

 

Upgrade all additional Management Servers using above steps.

 

----  Deploy latest CCA by updating VDA image. This will require a reboot of VDAs! Can we do this after enabling VIPs?

 

Reenable VIPs

 

Upgrade Personalization Server

Stop IIS on server.

Disable VIPs on load balance

Launch Desktop Now installer clicking upgrade

Once complete, click "Configure" next to Personalization Server

Personalization Server and Browser Interface

Follow wizard to upgrade

Launch SCU on exit and repair any variances.

Restart IIS and check

http://servername/PersonalizationServer/status.aspx or

https://servername/PersonalizationServer/status.aspx

Check personalization analysis is ok

Check Personalization console\manage\Advanced Settings dialog and "NumberOfArchivesToKeep"= 1, "LegacyDeleteDelayDays" = 30 + "ProfileCleanupDelayDays" = 0 (Preprod)

 

Upgrade Agents and configs

AppSense Personalization Server is backward compatible in that older AppSense

Environment Manager agents are capable of utilizing a newer Personalization

Server, however AppSense Environment Manager agents older than 2 feature

releases behind the Personalization Server are not supported.

At this point, the AppSense Environment Manager agent should be upgraded to

the same version as the Personalization Server. In doing so, care must be taken to

ensure the configuration is upgraded to match the agent version. Additionally,

theses installations should occur in the following order: 1.) Agent then 2.) Upgraded configuration.

 

----- Upgrade remaining Personalization Servers. Can these steps be moved to before agents and configs as all will require a reboot?

 

----- Reenable VIPs

 

 

 

As our agents will require a reboot (approx 1000, which will be done over 1 week), I'm hoping to upgrade all server components first, not just the 1st server as suggested in docs BP02 - DesktopNow Advanced Upgrade Guide

Anyone able to tell me if this will be ok? This is the order I have done previously in minor revision upgrades with no issues, but seeing as I'm going from 8-10 and am now also using personalization, I thought I'd check for advise first.

Policy Change Request Extended MAPI Error after upgrade to 2018.1

After the installation of Suite 2018.1, users receive the error in the appendix of a policy change request.

The article https://community.ivanti.com/docs/DOC-48322 describes the error but only one mail address is entered.

Is there a solution?

How to control the "Invoke Workflow" block - started exit

Hello Everyone,

 

     I have a SR template with a workflow that its' purpose is a Laptop request form. I would like to have the workflow invoke another workflow that creates a SR for a team do some work as part of the laptop request.

 

I have created a workflow with a quick action that creates the SR for the other team. Using the "Invoke Workflow" block, the sub workflow creates the SR for the other team Ok. My problem is that i would like the main workflow to be waiting until the SR created by the sub-workflow has been fulfilled, which the "started" exit on the  "Invoke Workflow" block exit stops me from doing.

 

I realise this case is calling out for a task to be used, however my colleagues seem to not have time for any changes or new ways of working.

 

I am not dead set on using the "Invoke Workflow" block any other suggestions are welcome.

 

Any help would be awesome!

Hide from Menu : Go to the Start screen

Hi,

 

I would like to remove from the logout menu which consist of "logout,disconnect,refresh" the option "go to Start screen" wich allow to display the windows server start screen.

 

Below the menu I would like to remove.

In place upgrade from Win 7 to Win 10

This is my first time posting but I have been trying to get a package built to use an unpacked iso to do an upgrade.  I was following the instructions from this posting (Windows 7 to Windows 10 1703 Inplace Upgrade ) but my packages hang on installing or when I tweak the command prompts I also see a Client has started processing task and nothing ever happens.

 

Under Install/Uninstall options I have /auto upgrade /quiet .  Has anyone else had success in doing in place upgrades?
