Personalization export/import

I am looking for some advise... we are currently running 2 environments, these being Production on Server 2008 / Windows 7 XenDesktop with EM 10.1. For the last 6 months I have been building a Server 2016 / Windows 10 Xendesktop environment. I am now in a place where I will be moving 2016 to production, the last step is to export all the Windows/Application Personalzation from the UAT to Prod - but it will have sit along side the current production configuration, as it will be a phased migration.

 

The issue is that many of the group names across both are the same, so if export from UAT and import to PRD then the groups will merge, with different keys/folders/includes/exclusions this will cause issues. My thought was that id I rename all groups IN UAT and prefix them all, making the names different this would resolve the issue.. maybe I am wrong.. some advice would be great?

Cannot delete all user data for one user

I cannot delete all user data for one user. Deleting user data for other users is not a problem.

Searching in Goldmine for accounts using email address fail

We've two different Goldmine implementations for different regions and in both of them attempting to search using someone's email largely speaking fails. About 5% of the time it works. The rest of the time GM hangs.

 

We've a couple of other implementations of GM and searching works fine.

 

Our VAR can't fix this problem....anyone got any ideas why this might not be working?

 

Searching on other fields does work for the record.

Changing object behaviour after save

Hi all, I know it is possible to change an object behaviour after it has been saved by applying updates in the database. I have used it before and it works but offcourse it is unsupported and undocumented. Does anyone have it laying around? I seem to have misplaced it. Best regards

Rollout Projects - Met success Criteria

Hi,

 

We're an on-prem customer (recently upgraded to 2018.1 - but issue seen in 2017.3), and I'm trying to get to grips with patch deployments via rollout projects. The only issue/question I really have is that no matter how I configure the project the "Met success criteria" never gets to 80% (my minimum for the next step). Regardless of how many patches I have, or how many targets. In fact more often than not I don't get any progress.

 

I'm currently working on deploying the latest VLC patch which is working, the endpoints are updating but not reporting back to the project. The deployment task is showing accurately at 100% but there's no progress on the project.

 

Without posting my whole project and steps, is there anything obvious I should be doing? Is there anything I've missed in the documents about how the status is reported back to the project>

Calendar Security

I started a conversation about a month ago on the issue of calendar security.  It is currently possible in our setup for a user to manipulate the calendar such that they can read emails from any other user.  The only exception is if an email is marked as private.

 

I had some great feedback last time, but the issue has not been resolved.

 

Changing the users settings as provided by John Neighbours suggestion, changes the users access to the tabs section of the contact card and not what they can view in the calendar.

 

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to overcome this potential security breach.

 

Whilst most of our emails here are not confidential internally, some are and that concerns me that they could be accessed by unwanted eyes.

 

Is the only solution to make sure that an email is marked private before it is sent?

Printers not mapping, sometimes.

Hello Ivanti Community,

 

We have an issue where "sometimes" people do not get their printers when logging onto our Citrix 7.6 environment. They are removed at log off and re-added at logon. Printers aren't hidden or secured by anything.

We cannot exactly pin-point when or how it starts and we cannot find any relevant logging. It does happen however.

 

We also have been able to confirm it happens when they log off and on again, several times in a row, also sometimes.

Only when we log the users off via RDP it works again. Which makes no sense to us.

 

Also when i go to the printer servers via Windows Explorer the printers list like expected. Only when you right click and press connect you get a message saying the driver won't install. It does do this with out old (hidden) backup print server.

 

I know i am being a bit vague but this is all we have been able to figure out. Does anyone have any idea where in ivanti i can turn on some logging?

Or do i need to provide some extra details for trouble shooting? I hope you guys can help me figure this out because our team is really puzzeled. I hope you guys can point me in the right direction.

Windows 10 Inplace upgrade, Pakete auf Reinstall und "The network path was not found"

Hallo zusammen,

 

ich teste gerade mit der Windows 10-Installation sowie Inplace Upgrades. Soweit läuft schon mal alles. :-)

 

Ich habe ein paar Skripte, die nach einem Inplace upgrade über den Befehl "MarkPackageAsNotInstalled" und dem entsprechenden Software-Tag dann auf Neuinstallation gestellt werden. Auch das funktioniert - im Prinzip.

Allerdings erhalte ich dann öfters die Fehlermeldung

Could not make files available for job InstallJob:PolicyInstance.xxxx. Reported error is 'The network path was not found. (0x00000035)'.

 

Ich denke mal, das liegt daran, dass der Service Installer losläuft, während Windows noch beim Starten fertig konfiguriert wird. Da das Upgrade auch die Treiber migriert, könnte es gut sein, dass die Netzwerk einen neuen Treiber erhält und somit die Verbindung verliert.

 

Jetzt ist das in der Regel nicht weiter schlimm, im Moment verteile ich so gut wie keine Pakete, so dass auch kein weiterer Neustart des Rechners durchgeführt wird. Aber wenn das System später mal so weit wäre, dann wäre ja eh die Pakete aktuell und es würden das Inplace upgrade sowie alle durch das entsprechende Software-Tag zurückgesetzten Pakete eingespielt werden. Aber das würde dann nicht direkt im Anschluss geschehen.

 

Eine Idee wäre, den Start des Runtime Service zu verzögern, aber das würde dann ja alle Installationen treffen. Aktuell ist der Standard-Wert 0s eingetragen.

 

Wie handhabt Ihr das?

Add a percentage sign at the end of a formula field in Xtraction

Hi - I'm trying to add a percentage sign at the end of a formula field in Xtraction.  The example I am using is:

 

if ([C1] = 0 ,1, [C4] / [C1]) * 100

 

I've tried a few things with zero luck.  Any suggestions?  We are still on 15.1

Action to add appointments on the Change Calendar

We have made our change object schedulable so we can take advantage of the calendar options within Service Desk.  The schedule action has been added (renamed Add to Calendar) and is working properly, but we would like the action to display the calendar in a month view instead of only showing the current day.  Is this possible?

 

 

It would be very beneficial for the calendar screen shown above to show as a monthly view.

On Demand Training Tutorials?

We have someone new joining our department and I would like this person to take some time and go through some Ivanti LANDesk tutorials. I have looked through the site and can't seem to find what I am looking for and though it wise to ask if it even exists. I was hoping to find tutorials on patch management, software deployment and imaging. We run LANDesk 2016 in our environment, any info you can pass my way would be much appreciated!

App Store Resrictions?

Hi all, I was curious if anyone knew how to restrict Apple OS and Beta releases from the AppStore with LANRev? Possibly a Config Profile?

 

The AV agent version we have currently is not compatible with Mojave and would like to restrict users from downloading it until we can update it. Thank you!

Service Request in Business Object drop-down on new Form Offering.

How do make a new Form Offering, and have Service Request show up in the Business Object drop-down? Service Request has a relationship with MyItems as noted in another, similar post (pretty sure it comes this way out-of-box) but the dropdown shows only Incident and Approval Vote Tracking for me.

Service Manager automated emails aren't always sending.

Hi all,

 

We've noticed that some of the emails that ISM is trying to send aren't going through. Specifically, we have a number of emails that are sitting in the Draft folder of the Exchange mailbox it uses. It looks like ISM created the messages as it should, but they never sent. We can see messages being sent. They briefly pop into Drafts if you watch the mailbox with an Outlook client, and then disappear, then appear in Sent folder like normal. But a few messages per day just pop into Drafts and never leave. There are no records of it in the Sent folder. The log in ISM shows that the messages are sent, and without any errors.

 

We've tried to find a pattern to the emails that fail. Are they all from the same business object, rule, or action? Is it to specific users, at certain times of day, etc? Unfortunately, it's all over the map. Some are survey emails after an incident is closed. Some are notifications to end-users that a new incident was created. Some are team notifications telling them they have a new assignment. It happens during peak hours and even on the weekends.

 

Anyone ever seen anything like this before?

License "Disappeared" when we changed Wireless Access Points. When you put new license in it says "Your authorization expired"

We changed wireless access points in our facility yesterday and for some reason, some but not all of our Motorola / Symbol MC55 that use TelnetCE 7.3 lost their licenses.  They had been working just find for the previous 4 years,  When I tried to put in the license information, the expiration date is "1010500" on the license, into the TelnetCE client it returns the error: Your authorization expired on 10/10/25   not sure what is causing this, they were all purchased about the same time and all the licenses we purchased one by one from 2012 - 2014.  Hoping someone has an idea.

Telnet not responding after "Networ Out-of-range"

Hi all,

 

we have recently faced issue with our TelnetCE that we are using on Datalogic barcode scanners. Issue is as follow:

when we are using WEB emulation in TelnetCE and we are walking inside our manufacturing area we are receiving "Network Out-of-range" popup when we are switching from one access point to another. This message is displayed for 1-2 seconds and in most cases when it is gone we can continue our work in the system. Unfortunately sometimes when "Network Out-of-range" message is gone, scanner is becoming frozen - we are trying to click anything in the system but we don't get any response and when we are trying to refresh the page in TelnetCE we are receiving "web page unavailable". Then if we will try to disconnect session and reconnect again we are once again receiving "web page unavailable" (but we have good connection as signal indicator is showing full, green signal strength). The only way to get scanner working is to reboot it.

 

We have already executed several activities to solve the issue but nothing is helping:

- we have updated firmware on the scanners to latest version

- we have executed wifi audit to double check that this is not a network issue

- we have changed and tested several settings in WiFi card configuration (in Summit Configuration Utility) to limit the number of situation when scanner is moving between access points.

- we have also disabled "Network support" option in Telnet configuration (section "Emulation"->"Network") but this change is only not displaying popup - instead of it we have progress bar that is loading and then after several seconds we have "frozen scanner"

 

So after all those actions we know that TelnetCE is sometimes hanging up when it is loosing network connection. As we have wireless devices we will never get rid of situation when devices are moving between access points or when they are travelling in areas where there is no WiFi signal, so now we would like to configure Telnet to work stable in those situations.


Does anyone faced same or similar issues? Or does anyone have any ideas what more we can change to get rid of "frozen scanners"?

Hello Community,

 

We did a fresh install today of Ivanti Workspace Control. Sometimes the login proces hangs at 78% (see attached screenshot). The only resolution seems to be to restart the server. I have looked arround for documentation regarding this issue but i have been unable to find any.

 

Any help is much appreciated.

I started randomly noticing the error below in my DEV environment when opening new tickets or existing tickets.  Has anyone else seen this before?

I have tried performing an IISreset and restarting the server.  Running 2017.1.
