Query Sort by Time Not Sorting Properly

$
0
0

I am having an issue with a query.  I am trying to sort based off time from a DateTime field that only displays time on a form (Start Time).  The query is grouped by a separate DateTime field that only displays date on the form (Start Date).  There is no calculation on these fields as they are meant as 'implementation dates and times' that a user selects themselves.  After digging deeper, it looks as if the date is being changed somehow though there are no calculations.  For instance, here is the query that gets emailed from scheduler:

However, if I launch the query via web desk, the date & time appear for the 'Start Time' column. As you can see, the date associated with the time is days prior:

Here is what the fields look like in the form (I used the first row in the example below).  The grouping is working fine (shows as an entry for a 11/13 Start Date) but the date that is getting assigned to the time field is showing as 11/12.  I am very confused and this is limiting our ability to utilize reports\queries to drive collision conversations.  There are also numerous entries where the date assigned to the Start Time field is a handful of days earlier (Additional screen shots below)

(Example of numerous days prior)

How to Stop the delayed reboot after patching?

$

There are times when an endpoint has been turned off and does not get patched during the night.  When it's powered on, the patch process kicks in and the user is eventually forced to restart their computer.  This is not agreeable for conference/webinar machines.  How can we prevent a reboot from occurring after the Reboot Message has appeared?

How to add price items to Service Request based on user input

I am struggling to understand how to automatically add transactions to a Service Request, but dependent on the user's responses. I do not want to have 1 price for a Service Request because the cost would be different based on what the user selects. Does anyone know how to achieve this?

Thanks,

Tim

Just poking around to see if anyone out there has any pretty cool Service Catalog designs they'd be willing to share out.  I've seen a few but I know the community is overloaded with really smart people.  Just seeing what people have done.

Thanks!

Event ID 5: Client does not own profile

Hello,

we are using Ivanti Environment Manager now for around 1 month and already fixed some minor issues. Unfortunately I still recognize the following errors in my event log:

(70) [ProfileService.HandlerImplementation.SynchroniserHttpHandler] Exception in SynchroniserHttpHandler::HandleRequestSystem.ApplicationException: Client does not own profile

What does this mean and where can I have a look to fix this error message?

Hallo,

MS SQL Connection string

I have installed the product "Device and Application control 5.1.2" whit MS SQL Express 2012 R2 SP2 in the same machine. We need to move SX database to another corporative MS SQL 2012 R2 SP2, which is in another domain without trust relationship.

We need to use MS SQL user, not domain user. We can change the MS SQL connection string in the registry, in service paramaters, to use ms sql user?

It doesn't look like the support matrix has been updated and wondering if it is supported or if a new client will be released.

How do I create another management console?

I am told that our license key comes with 5 management consoles. I would like to divide our Ivanti patch server into two instances, so that Servers can be managed by one and Workstations by another. I recently accidentally chose "All Endpoints" on my monthly patch rollout, and patched all servers as well as workstations. I want to provide a failsafe against that human error by separating the two Consoles.

I get the following error when trying to delete a link field:

This field had a couple of configurations on it such as relationship and being used in a workflow. I have removed all of these configurations but still get the error above.

Not sure if someone has ever had such an issue before and was able to resolve it?

TIA.

Application and Device Control License

I have previously used Lumension 4.6 which used a license file called endpoint.lic. I am currently installing Application and Device Control 5.1.2 and have tried to use the same license, this does not work. I then logged onto the Avanti Portal and downloaded the new license files for version 5.1.2 and dropped them into C:\Windows\Syswow64\ as directed by the setup guide, these still don't work.

I have noticed that I now have two license files to download instead of one and also their names have been slightly changed. My question here is, how do I get the installation to see these licenses?

Any help would be appreciated.

All Endpoint Client installations and Client Deployment Package Creations fail with TLS context error

$

Hi All,

I have a fresh install of Ivanti Device and Application Control 5.1 U2. We have a Microsoft CA built as per the Microsoft documentation. (See below for Certificate attributes)

I'm installing the client on a Windows 7 Endpoint, I have copied the sx-public.key from the server into the \Client directory where Client.exe resides. I have ran Client.exe with administrative privileges, selected authentication certificate will be retrieved from a CA, then entered my application server FQDN with the default port.

When I click Test I get the following error: (Server name redacted)

Error

Could not connect to server <ServerName>:65529

==> Failed to initialize TLS context, details: The certificate is not valid for the requested usage.

I have also tried creating a Package using the Client Deployment Tool. After launching the tool, configuring the Deployment Copies location I followed these steps: New Package | Select x64 Client | Entered FQDN / Port | Import Public Key | Test

This gives me an almost identical error:

pinging <FQDN>:65529

==> Failed to initialize TLS context, Details: The certificate is not valid for the requested usage.

I have confirmed connectivity to the Application Server from the clients and confirmed inbound firewall rules are in place (These are the default rules configured during IDAC installation)

I'm not sure if it is an issue with our certificates that have been issued to both clients and servers? I can't find any clear cut guidance from Ivanti re cert configuration? Each Endpoint has been issued with a certificate from our Microsoft CA with the following attributes:

Version: V3

Signature algorithm: sha512RSA

Signature hash algorithm: sha512

Valid to (xxx 2019)

Subject: <FQDN>

Public Key: RSA (1024 Bits)

Enhanced Key Usage: Client Authentication

Key Usage: Digital Signature, Key Encipherment (a0)

I have read through the information here: How to set up Microsoft Certificate Authority (CA) certificates to be used by IDAC (Ivanti Device and Application Control)  Although this post has some information in it, it doesn't say what the actual requirement is: "That means the certificate  shouldn't be expired or has a weak encryption like RSA 512bits. Current Windows systems should display an information if the certificate encryption isn't strong enough. This can depend on the key length, asymmetric algorithm or from the hash in use. In general RSA 2048 with SHA256 is recommended. "

Any help is very welcome

Thanks

Filters for Portable Devices (Smartphones)

Dear ivanti community.

our company using device and application control a few years.

Now we want to connect some smartphones to our local computers to transfer images to internal storage.

If we connect our phones they appear with 2 types of devices. One of that is a portable device (MTP-USB-Device) and the other is a Modem / Secondary Network Access Device (Samsung Mobile USB Modem).

Now we add the MTP-USB-Device and enable one user to get access on the device. This works fine. The user can browse on his phone and is able to copy data on his computer.

Here is our question:

Our intention is that the user only can copy images like *.jpg, *.png and *.jpeg. How can we realize that?

The button in the permissions are grayed out. We cant put a filter on portable devices. For removable storage devices it works fine.

We hope that you can help us with our problem.

With best regards

Paul Ennen

I have logged a support call, but was wondering if anyone else had seen this before?  As far as I can tell both tenants are running the same version of ISM.

We are trying to give one of our teams who's access is limited by permissions and scopes access to "manage software lists" so that they can create custom data and files that need to be included in our inventory scans. I found the following post from 4 years ago that mentioned only full administrators can access this portion of the console. Has anything changed since then? We are running 2017.3.5

Manually creating software inventory + licenses

Evening,

After a discussion management decided not to use software discovery, but instead would like us to manually track purchased software licences, and assign them to computers under CI.

So far, I'm not seeing anything OOTB to make that happen.

What I'm wondering (before I start creating objects) is this :

Do we just create a new form under CI named Software to link with computers?

Or is there something OOTB we are missing?

Hello community,

a quick question: where can I translate the "Watch List" button?

It's nowhere to be found when looking at the translation tool neither can it be found in the frs_def_translation table on the database.

Thanks for the help.
