APM Schwierigkeiten DSM 2018.1

Hallo zusammen,

 

Wir haben vor einiger Zeit DSM auf 2018.1 geupdatet bisher auch keine nennenswerte Probleme. Allerdings habe ich nach dem Update schon früh festgestellt das das APM nicht mehr das macht was es soll. Sämtliche Ausnahmen und Parameter werden ignoriert. Das APM lädt halt wirklich alles runter was er so findet. Was mich am meisten stört sind Pakete (proofing tools z.b) in allen erdenklichen Sprachen. Auch wenn ich eine Ausnahme für ne Kategorie setzte ignoriert er das einfach. Mittlerweile führt das dazu das ich täglich Patches lösche. (Die er dann anschließend wieder neu runterlädt) Unser Master-Depot ist nun über 1 TB groß und es wächst immer weiter. Leider haben wir zudem massiven Platzmangel auf allen Depots so das bei einigen gar nix mehr geht. Und leider ist das alles dem APM zu verschulden. Mir bringt das ganze halt gar nix mehr wenn ich nichts mehr steuern kann. Bin schon am überlegen ob ich es löschen soll und neu anlege. Oder hat noch irgendjemand ne Idee?

Rapid Report doesn't work with Google Chrome

I've just installed RR in our 2017.3.1000.31399 version of Ivanti SM.  After tried it with no success in Chrome (v.66), it appears that it works fine in MS Edge with no change in the template. 

A version problem in Chrome, an extension missing ?  Any idea to make it work in Chrome ?

How can I manage multiple sites in multiple countries?

Hi,

 

I have recently started managing many Ivanti EPM servers globally across many countries including places like UK, Brazil, Australia, UAE, India, South Africa and USA. I have just finished upgrading all servers to Ivanti EPM 2018.3 so they are all on the same software version. The servers are all configured different with different settings and strategies around security patching, software distribution, OS Provisioning, reporting/alerting, etc. Each country and office has it's own Ivanti EPM instance which do not currently communicate with each other.

 

I am looking to centralise, standardise and simplify everything. I am looking for advise on the best strategy of how to do this. I am currently researching into this to find all the options and then weigh up the options. In the UK I have a distribution point setup locally at one site as a test to see how this works but I am not sure this would be the best option globally when the Core server is in the UK as I imagine the replication would be slow. The other option is to have a rollup core which I don't know much about as yet but I am looking into. As far as I am aware a rollup core communicates with many different instances of Ivanti EPM and stores information from them all based on whatever criteria you set, this might be a better option as at least I could hopefully see what is happening on the servers from a central point. What I was really hoping for though is that I could have an Ivanti EPM core server in each site and they could do some sort of Core Synchronisation back to the Master Core server in the UK similar to a Master and a slave server. I would then make it so each onsite IT contact can only do things relating to clients in their office and things like security patching are completely standardised and the same across countries with exceptions where needed.

 

Does anyone know if this is possible from a technical point of view or have any ideas of how managing multiple countries can be made easy? I don't know if I am on the right track with the right line of thought or if there are other ways of doing what I want? I know there are other factors to consider like office politics and local laws of what information/data you can retain etc but that is less of an issue right now.

 

Any help is much appreciated and thank you in advance.

LDAP group targeting for Windows-Agent Settings Tasks also select iOS MobileDevices

Hello guys,

 

we have four possible configurations for the endpoint security agent which are set by policy and LDAP targeting.

In the LDAP groups, the users are maintained according to the authorization.

 

We want to ensure that the endpoint security agent settings are set as quickly as possible after logging on to a client.

Unfortunately, the MobileDevices also receive corresponding guidelines and cannot process them, of course.

Owing to this fact, the MobileDevices no longer process the guidelines actually intended for this purpose.

How can we exclude the MobileDevices from the addressing and still guarantee a fast and not inventory based compliance?

Agent Upgrade from 8.4 to 8.6

Hi Experts

 

We will be upgrading from EM 8.4 to 8.6 and as part of that the CCA and EM agents will also be deployed to all VDIs. We have been asked to take a phasewise approach for the agent deployment from SCCM. I understand that AppSense supports n-2 version of agents and we can deploy till the last computer is deployed. What is the recommended approach for such phasewise rollout, is there an experience that you can share  @ Landon

Issue with filters after 2018.2 Update

Hi all,

 

We seem to be having an issue with various users when using the filtering options within the Activity List, we did not have this issue prior to the update.  When a user tries to filter on 'Today and Prior' for instance using a key word such as 'new' Goldmine just comes to a complete stop and crashes, requiring a restart of the application.  However what makes it even more strange is that some users appear to be are able to filter and seems to work fine but this may just be coincidental.

 

Are there any reports of these issues after the update, does anyone have any idea what it may be linked to?

more contacts after migration and upgrade

We have recently upgraded from Goldmine Premium 2014 to Goldmine Premium 2018.

One of my users is complaining that since the upgrade she has noticed she has many more contacts than before.  Some she does not think belong to her.

I've searched the knowledge base and have not seen anything related to that scenario.

Could not login into GoldMine Incorrect Password!

GoldMine PE 8.5.2.8

 

Hi, I have a working remote site installations on two PC's both running Win 10. However the installation on my server (Win Server 2008 R2) has for no apparent reason stopped allowing logins. This means the remote sync is failing to connect. There's a silent login startup script on the server that is presumably failing because if I try to log in manually I get a dialog saying "Could not login into GoldMine Incorrect Password!".

SQL Server Management Studio can connect to the database so that's not the problem. I've tried copying the GM directory to a backup directory, then uninstalling GM and re-installing from the setup.exe but even then I get the same dialog, regardless of whether I use MASTER and the default pwd or whether I use my own username and password.

I have an up to date copy of the database on one of the remote machines that is working fine. What's the best way to get the server install back up and running and synced so it has the same data that is currently on the remote?

Track incident (re)assignment

Hi guys, I'm looking for a way to track the reassignment of incidents so I can report on how many times it has been passed around and why.

 

I've cloned the Reassign Owner Team QA and amended it to include the Owner assignment option too, and for the most part that works in allowing the agent to enter a memo describing why the call has been reassigned.  I've tried to introduce a drop-down box to select a reason, such as 'site visit required', 'lack of knowldege', etc, but I think I may have done this wrong...

I've created a field within the Incident object validated against a pick list, but the more I think about it won't this field just get overwritten every time the incident is reassigned and just record the latest 'reason'?? Should the field be on the Journal?

Ideally I'd like to be able to run a report on calls with the highest pass rate, and drill down to see why?  Do we get a lot of calls passed to a different agent due to lack of knowledge?

 

Also, I've created a business rule so that if an agent reassigns a call via the owner drop down box on the form based on the change of the Owner field, but I've found that when using the QA the business rule also triggers and the reason memo gets logged in the journal twice???

Goldmine Freezes when adding a referral to a new contact

The last dozen or so times that I've created a new contact and attempted to add a referral, once I've chosen the contact to refer to, the whole program freezes, requiring me to restart the program. Any ideas as to why?

Windows Calculation to make a field mandatory

Hello -

 

I'm trying to make a field mandatory when an Int32 attribute has a certain value and I'm having no luck.  It says my syntax is valid but the field never becomes mandatory.

Can someone take a look and tell me what's missing?  Thanks

Customizing emails through HEAT

I am new to the application and would like to know where I can find information on how to customize the emails (specifically the variables) that are sent out. For instance, when I use$(GetSRPValue(RecId, "TargetDate")) it results in this 12/13/2018 12:00:00AM (UTC -05:00) - America/New_York.    I just want to see 12/13/2018 in the email.   I tried $(FormatDate(),"mm/dd/yyyy")but it chokes.

 

There are other variables /functions that I would like to use, especially calculations, but would like a source to reference.   Any help would be appreciated.

DSM APM and Java updates next year

Does iVanti know how they are going to handle java updates of Java JRE running on Desktops\Servers come January of 2019?  Oracle is saying we must purchase a license per user for each desktop that has Oracle Java, as well as servers.  Publicly available updates will no longer offered for free.

 

Here is info on this, and my quick interpretation of the information.

 

  All Java that is 8 and above will stop receiving publicly available updates after the first of the year in January, the exact date I'm not sure.  You can continue to use Java without a license, but you will not receive any updates to it.. good luck if your doing vulnerability scans.. :-)   The license to use Java JRE on each desktop is user based, so your supposed to have a license for each user that has the ability to login to a workstation.

 

  For servers were still figuring out whats required, but its core based and if your virtualized it doesn't look good.

 

 

Just curious, how is everyone else planning on handling this?   I'm sure many will go to OpenJDK which is completely opensource.

Data import from WebAccess

I need to allow an analyst to invoke the execution of a data import on request. The data import is defined as usual using the console, but it's not scheduled. When there is the need to activate it they can place the excel file in the right folder and would like to be able to trigger the data import execution in some way from webaccess. Any idea?

Auto Close after 3 days is not working

Hi all,

 

I've been following the guideline(Using Calculations to replace and enhance AutoClose (or automatically move any process on to any status with any action) ) to auto close tickets at status "Request Completed" after a period of time.

I'm trying to apply this function to Service Request module but it's not working.

 

This is my AutoCloseFlag calculation which I followed almost exactly like the example. But to speed up the process, I used 1 hour instead of 24 hours(3 working days).

For the query, I think the AutoCloseFlag is returning "False" value instead of "True" because when I test the criteria conditions, it's not showing the ticket at "Request Completed" status. So, the Scheduled Bulk Action unable to run the autoclose function.

Chat and Social not working

Hi

2018.3 Version '

 

i used  design transfer and import the Chat and Social Module

I have the instances name:
ServiceDesk.WebAccessfor web-AccessWorkspacefor Bridge-IT

 

i follow the steps to edit the Chat.html and Chat.JS

as follow :

 

1-  i copy the folder ( Social ) and replace the original location under BridgeIT folder
location C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDESK\BridgeIT\

 

2- i edit Chat.HTML file :

ListPendingChats = 'http://WIN-60O5M0GN492/Workspace/Social/Chat.html?session="client":"BIT","session":"pending"';

          and
