How to resize web desk window on landesk 7.7.2

Hi All

 

I am having trouble in re sizing the web desk window. It looks fine on the console (i dont haveto scroll on the right to see the columns), but as soon as i open the same window in web desk i have to scroll to the right and also click and hold to re size the window

 

Can some one help on this please?

 

The window which i am opening is a sub window on web desk e.g if i am selecting a category from drop down, once selected if i click on category i see a pop up window which i am issues with

I recently upgraded from LD 9.0 to LD 9.6 SP2. I would like to know the best methods to issue netsh commands as actions in OSD Provisioning. We used to issue the netsh commands via the unattend.xml file in OSD deployment in LD 9.0.

Intel KVM not supported on Server 2012

We are running LANDesk 9.6 SP1 on Windows Server 2012 R2.  We just recently configured vPro and I have been looking over some of the options that it gives us.  The one thing I noticed is that "Remote Control via Intel KVM" does not work with Server 2012.  It appears that it might be a limitation from Intel and not LANDesk according to the message.  Has anyone else run into this or know if there will be a patch that will allow this to work?

Hi all!

 

Is it possible to calculate time after breach for closed incidents using GetBuissnesTime?

 

My calculation is:

When I'm trying to test this calculation - error appears:

error on line 9: function not available on client

 

 

If line:

Czas= Incident.GetBusinessTime(Rozw,Incident.BreachTime)

is replaced by:

 

Czas= Rozw - Incident.BreachTime

 

calculation works fine.

It means that GetBusinessTime works only in not closed incidens?

 

(values 111111, 222222, 333333 are set for debugging purposes, to check which "if" fails)

Help with Design Transfer tool

To anyone who can help,

 

Current situation:

  • Development Environment: Contains 4 months of Development
  • UAT Environment: Is a copy of Live that does not face users.
  • LIVE Environment: Is used on a daily basis by our approx. 17,000 users.
  • An upgrade from 7.7.1 to 7.8 has been performed in the last month by our support and implementation team.
  • We have attempted to use T2L tool from Development to UAT and failed
  • Error message: The ALTER TABLE statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint "fkey$md_query_condition$qa". The conflict occurred in database "LANDESKUAT", table "dbo.md_query_attribute", column 'md_guid'
  • LANDesk investigated and found that someone/something had made over 200 changes in our target (LIVE) environment.

 

At this point we spoke to LANDesk and came up with the following solution

 

Suggested solution:

  • Create a new environment called Sandpit
  • Copy the current Development environment into Sandpit Environment
  • Put a copy of Live environment into Development environment
  • Perform a T2L around the whole system as the tool should be successful due to all environments being the same.
  • Use the design transfer tool to import/export work between the Sandpit environment and the Development environment
  • check that the transfer has correctly added Development to the Development environment
  • Use T2L to move Development environment to Sandpit Environment for testing
  • Once testing is confirmed, use T2L to move Development environment to Live Environment

 

We have read the design transfer instructions and looked at the forum we are slightly nervous about committing to this process...also having little/no experience in our team with design transfer tool we would really appreciate anyone who has an ideas or experiences like this to share experience..

  • Do you have a better suggestion of keep our development work and move it to Live?
  • Are there any best practises?
  • What is the best order to use the Design transfer tool?
  • What issues should we look out for?
  • Our we wrong in our suggested solution?
  • Will we run into road blocks?

On some devices the Endpoint Security Service doesn' run, but not at all

Hi,

on some devices doesn't run the EPS.

No error during the installation, the EPS-Client is on the device but not active. No way to start it.

Only a simple "unknown error" in the Event Log.

But there are some other devices without this Problem, so we can accept: It's not a Core Problem.

All devices have Windows 7.

A support call at LANDesk Support is open, but since 3 days they couldn't find the problem.

 

Has had anyone of you the same or a similar problem?

And could fix it?

Deploying package on XP - Agent Error Message

Hi,

 

I am pushing a package to an XP machine and I keep getting this error message: The selected delivery method and or package(s) require features that are not provided by the agent installed on this target. This can be resolved by upgrading the agent to the latest version

 

Now I know that I have different legacy agents on the my XP machines but surely there must be a way to send a package to them.

This is the solution provided: Change the downgrade options in the delivery method to use "Download functionality to level of agent" but I don't understand this means.

 

Can someone please help?

Problem with the deinstallation of the Wavelink TelnetCE 7378 application

I am currently about to deinstall / install the Wavelink TelnetCE 7378 application on our Motorola MC9100 device. In order to achieve this, I have already tried the following measures without any success:

 

(1)      Deinstallation via the Motorola Wavelink Application (Application & Config):

 

After having executed the deinstallation process I get the following error message despite the fact, that the application is already installed on the device:

 

"Update failed. Unable to determine install directory. Please verify that the product is installed on the device."

 

(2)     Deinstallation via the remove programs menu on the scanner

 

It is written on the screen: "Programs in storage memory: Wavelink TelnetCE 7378". I mark the entry. Afterwards I click on "remove". After having clicked on "remove" the following error appears:

 

"Wavelink TelnetCE 7378 was not completely removed. Do you want to remove it from the list of installed programs?" Then I click on "yes" but nothing happens.

 

(3)      Reinstallation of the client via the "Application & Config" button on the application:

 

The reinstallation process starts. However I get the following error messages on the screen:

 

"The previous version of Wavelink TelnetCE 7378 will be removed before the new one is installed. Select OK to continue or cancel to quit". I click on "OK". After three seconds the following error message appears:

 

"The previous version of Wavelink TelnetCE 7378 cannot be removed. Do you want to continue installing Wavelink TelnetCE 7378?" Here I click on yes. Then the following message appears:

 

"Installation of Wavelink TelnetCE 7378.cab was unsuccessful."

 

(4)      Restarting of the Scanner and the following of the reinstallation / deinstallation measures (Bullet points 1 - 3) as described above after the scanners’ reboot was also not successful

 

(5)      The deinstallation of the Wavelink Application and the following of the reinstallation / deinstallation measures (Bullet points 1 - 3) as described above after the scanners’ reboot was also not successful

 

 

So I have now tried five possibilities to solve the problem. Do you have any other hints regarding the solution of this issue?

Hello,

 

how can I update a process? From Test environment to Live environment, without Test2Live, because i would only export / import the process. The other developments in my test environment are not ready to get live, but the process.

Is there any way to update a process in Live environment?

Hello,

 

I'm using VPN connection to the customer's server, when i'm logging an incident by Analyst I see all of the actions and everything is fine, BUT when our customer log on at the same Analyst and create an incident there are missing actions - i dont know why.
I tried to restart IIS Server, restart all LanDesk services and Application Pool, I checked if there is only 1 user in database(not duplicated) and we are using only 1 server. Customer tried to change web browser.
Nothing help.

 

Version 7.8.0

 

 

Any suggestions?

Retrieve System and User DSN in ODBC

Hi,

 

I had a look around in Landesk to see if it's possible to retrieve a list of System and User DSNs from the registry. I have looked at custom data -- registry items but what we would be looking for is subkeys within HKLM\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI\ODBC Data Sources, these subkeys are unkown since users can call them whatever they want however the custom data requires a known key to retrieve custom data.

 

Has anyone performed this within Landesk? if so how?

Which Business Object must I create a Customer Happiness Object

We upgraded our LANDesk Service Desk Test Server to 7.8.2 because we need to know how this Customer Happiness Tracking works. I read that this is not a feature that is there ready to just use it but rather, it says I need to create an object and incorporate it to our existing Process. Please I need your guidance whether I must create this Customer Happiness Object under the Call Management or Incident Management. I really appreciate your help. Thank you very much.

Intel KVM control not working for LDMS on Core server

We are running Windows Server 2008 R2 for our Core server and it's installed in a Virtual Environment on our vSphere server.

 

We cannot remote control using KVM from the server.  We can however, remote control from our workstations.  This may not sound like much of an issue, and it's not a huge deal, however we do have techs that log into the core to run the LDMS.  They do this because they are remote and using the LDMS from outside the office on a VPN is horrendously slow.

 

Anyway, does anyone know if the KVM control is support on Windows Server 2008 R2?

LDSD database and what it includes

We are currently on LDSD 7.5 and in the process of upgrading to 7.8 - our current setup is so unorganized and because of this our reports & queries are not acurate.  We had a thought that since we are upgrading, we could start with a fresh database, however we are concerned that we would lose all of our window configurations, etc. and would need to re-create everything from scratch.  Is this true?

 

- We want to redo all of our categories because right now we have to drill down too far and is is causing data to be left off when reporting

- We want to create new dashboards for other areas.  Currently we are all using one dashboard

- We need to add a new field on the Resolution field that would have a drop down list (like a category) that would include major categories that we would select when resolving a ticket.  We believe this would help in reporting

 

 

We have reached out to our Account Rep and received a quote to have LanDesk do this for us as well as a knowlege transfer, but this came to mind and I wanted to get opinions from other Clients.
