Key Indicator ( Ctrl/Alt/Numeric/Upper case/Lower case)

Hi,

Had been using Honeywell D6500 (WinCE5.0) with Wavelink for the model.

On the Wavelink, it shows the special keys ( Ctrl/Alt/Numeric) on the Wavelink Telnet Emulator.

But when upgrade device to Honeywell D6510 ( WinCE6.0), there is no Wavelink TE for it and had to use Universal version.

The universal version does not support special key indicator and therefore not able to show if CTRL/ALT/Numeric is keyed.

Is there no way to show them? Or will there be a version that will support D6510?


EMSS 8.5.0.2 Update 2 release date?

On the EMSS compatibility with Windows 10, it was noted update 2 was to be released already.  I am unable to upgrade to this version, and I have 1709 Windows 10 machines ready for deployment, except I cannot install the HEAT agent.  Is there an ETA on the release date of U2? I know the matrix said it was to have been release on the 17th of last month.

How to Disable the Right Click function in Ivanti SD

I am looking for a way to either disable or limit the features listed when right clicking on a ticket on the Web interface for service desk. We currently are having some users and analysts who are using this feature to bypass ticket requirements we demand. They are doing this by right clicking and resolving tickets after the ticket has been acknowledged. So what i am looking for is to either permanently disable the right click feature for these user or to change the options presented on the analyst dashboard.

Agent Configuration - Unable to delete

I am unable to remove an old agent configuration.

 

I received the following error:

 

(Agent Name) can't be deleted because it is currently scheduled

AgentConfigRemoveError.png

I am sure that I have deleted all tasks and packages related to this configuration.

 

I am using LDMS 9.5 SP1  9.50.1.6159B

 

Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Hi all,

 

This is a two part question:

 

1.  I'm able to create a service request using a custom template via the web service.  However, the status is set to 'Submitted'.  Is there a way to change the status when a service request is created via API?

 

2.  Is there an ability to create a note for a service request that has been created using the web service api?  I can retrieve a service request using the API and loop through the fields, but i don't see an ability to programmatically add a note.  Can someone point me in the right direction?

What is the best way to test the changes and enhancements in LANDesk Service Desk?

I have one production and one staging servers for LANDesk Service Desk but I feel there should be different ways to test the different changes, because simply it is not useful to do everything on the staging and take it to the production using "Design transfer" and it can not be same procedure for testing the processes, the mappings and the other components. So is there any better way to deal with the different components in the Service Desk???

Dashboard errors

Sometimes I have one of the analysts complaining that he/she can not see the tickets because the window is showing server error. Check the attached screenshot

Usually I login using the sa account and re-select the dashboard from there and it simply works!!! but why is this happening? and why it happens with some of the analysts?

Failed to download (C:\ldprovisioning\SDClientHandler.sig)

When using provisioning packages for complex software deployments, I am seeing an issue where some of the devices are failing to install any of the software packages that I have included in the template.  After closer inspection, I can see that none of the files for the software packages in the template are being downloaded, so when it tries to execute, it fails immediately.  I found an error in the ldprovisioning.log file -> Failed to download (C:\ldprovisioning\SDClientHandler.sig) <- that appears to be the issue, but I'm not sure how to go about resolving this.  Wondering if anyone else has seen this, or has any ideas how to troubleshoot further?  LDMS 2016.3 SU3

Suggesting for Querying for a range of logon time

We have a combination of 24 hour boxes running 12 hour shifts and boxes that run typical Monday-Friday 8-5.

 

I know I can push a form out asking user to identify what category their box falls into but I want to do it by query if possible.  But the parameters I have to work with might not be ones I can query.

 

8-830 box are usually the same user but not necessarily, and the 24 hour boxes are twelve our shifts where the most recent log on is either around 6 am or 6pm.  Without pushing out a form, or tagging machines, any way you know to query a particular logon time of day rather than date or something else I just have not thought of?? Thanks.

New UI design for mobile/responsive site

I implemented the "new UI" for the self-service user and have noticed that when I login to the site on my mobile device it looks like a completely different page comes up with different design & widgets.

Any ideas how to edit the mobile UI?

Enable Mac Lock Screen

I need to enable the enable the lock screen on Macs after the computer goes to sleep or the screen saver starts. 

 

There is a Definition to enable this setting but it is not working for me.  The definition is called "APPLE-PasswordRequired-5s"

Although the definition is in the scan folder it, all 800+ Macs are "not scanned" under the history.

 

When I try to do a repair it says that "scan complete, nothing to patch".

 

Does anyone know how to make this work or how if there is another way to accomplish the same thing?

Change Management: Reason, Justification, BusinessFunction

Hi all,

 

We're starting to use Change, and also thinking to slate projects in Change prior to approval; a bit unclear about the handling of various kinds of "reason".

First we want to identify the business driver, e.g. manage risk, reduce direct cost, save time, improve decisions (more accurate/timely reporting), customer satisfaction. I think this would fit in the "BusinessFunction" list, which currently contains "Vital", "Helpful", "Important". I'd see the existing values as covered by Impact, so no great loss.

 

Then there's the reason for the change. There's two lists & tables available: ChangeReason and Justification.

Justification contains:

* Incident / Fault

* Scheduled Maintenance

* Enhancement

- NULL

- Unscheduled Maintenance

- (None)

- Release

We could add "new application" or "new system/service".

 

ChangeReason has the first 3 of those, except the first is called "Failure".

The documentation says the the Justification field is to specify the Reason for the change. So what's ChangeReason for?

 

Are we going to run into problems trying to use or change any of these lists in Change?

 

There's also TypeOfChange which appears to mostly be about the scale & impact, as its selection determines which risk calculator is utilised. That's good.

Workspaces Login Methods

I am still new to LanDesk so please bare with me on this. I discovered portal manager a little while ago and am now getting around to testing out what it can do. I like the idea of creating policies so that users can download the software they want on their own. After doing a few tests, trying to find out why my software packages were not clearing the portal after a successful install, I noticed that the portal is reporting the installation as failed while the console is showing success. Then I come to discover that portal manager is no longer supported and has been replaced with workspaces. When I start up the workspace on the endpoint I am greeted with a log in screen. Am I expected to create an account for every user in order to use this? If so then where do I create these users? If it requires AD then I have an issue as a large chunk of our users are offsite and use local accounts. Any info is greatly appreciated.

HEAT SM iPhone app only for SaaS customers?

I downloaded the HEAT SM iPhone app and can't help but notice that under the username/password fields is a field that defaults to "tenant1.saasit.com".  Does this mean that the app is only usable by SaaS customers?

We are an on-prem customer but would still love to take advantage of the app is there any capability.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Incidents to Requests and vice versa

Hi there everyone,

 

We have recently switched over to Ivanti Service Desk.  We are running 17.1.  I was hoping that I could get some guidance on how to make it easier for my technicians to switch an incident to a request and vice versa.  We are using both the incident and request process, primarily straight out of the box.  Any help/screenshots is greatly appreciated.

Hallo zusammen,

 

ich versuche gerade verzweifelt Win7 SP1 mit WinPE10 zu installieren. Leider scheitert es akutell bei mir schon an dem Fehler "need another boot environment" im DSM Client. Des weiteren lässt sich die "setup.exe" von Win7 nicht starten, da zwei dll Files (wbemprox.dll und fastprox.dll) den Fehler "the procedure entry point ... could not be located in the dynamic link library". Eine Installation über WinPE3 ist nicht möglich da die NVM-SSD nicht erkannt wird. Habe leider auch schon alles mit Win7 versucht und komme einfach nicht weiter. Hat von euch noch jemand eine Idee?

Task fails to execute on server with error 'No user has logged onto the system, failed operation'

I have had this problem for several months now. It only affects a few systems specifically Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2012 R2. Not all the servers act the same. About half the servers have no problem running what ever task I push to it. Then there are the same servers every time I push a task to it fails. It fails with 'No user has logged onto the system, failed operation'. When I RDP to the server and rerun the task it will succeed no problem.

 

The tasks I run very from batch scripts to powershell scripts to executable to msi Distribution tasks. I have looked through the PolicySync.log and PolicySync.exe.log with no errors showing from what I can tell. All systems have the same agents installed(Workstations and servers alike). I don't have this problem with the Windows 7 boxes.

 

Has anyone had this problem?
