Change the E-mail title for self-assignment.

Hi Everyone,

 

Is it possible to change the e-mail title for e-mail notifications regarding self assignment? A test user gets this e-mail but I could not find a way to change the "Self Assignment" title.

I found out (and vaguely remember) executing files from the network is blocked by default.  I located this tidbit from the AC Guide:

Network folders/shares are denied by default. So, if the file resides on a network folder, the file or

folder must be added to the rule as an allowed item. Otherwise, even if the file passes Trusted

Ownership checking, the rule will not allow access.

 

I would like to allow everything by default while having AAC set to restricted thus reserving the ability to block items as needed.  A search revealed a post suggesting adding \\*\* to allow network share executables. 

Is there an advanced setting/engineering key I can add to allow 100% of everything unless explicitly denied?  If not, what needs to be added or changed to make this work so I can strictly use AC as a blacklisting tool?

Another issue I encountered was the End User attachments collection tab only shows 1 item. Is there a way to show all of the files attached?

How to change sort by default on Knowledge Base self service mobile UI?

How can I change the sort by value to default to most viewed rather than best rating on the knowledge base in self service mobile UI?

 

I would prefer the search to return best match however we seem limited to the sort by field.  Is there anyway to turn this sort by off and return by best match?

Is the MOT_MC92N0_CE7 Wavelink Product Configuration still supported?

We have MOT_MC92N0_CE7 Wavelink Product Configuration installed on a PC. It is not communicating via USB. Is there a Windows 10 version? Is the product even still supported?

We would like to have Task ids be an extension of the Incident id.  For example Incident 12345 that has 2 tasks.  The task ids would be 12345:T1, 12345:T2.  Is this possible?

Trusted Vendor Certificate Chain - trusting CA certs

Can a certificate chain be used to trust vendor certificates? That is, can we add the Issuing CA to the Trusted Vendors list and trust any certificate issued by the CA?

 

The use case is internally developed code - rather than adding individual certificates to the Trusted Vendors list, is it possible to trust the Issuing CA instead?

 

In my testing, it looks to me that the answer is no, but I wanted to confirm and perhaps understand why this isn't possible today.

Migrating Hived settings to Personalization DB

Our XenApp published desktop environment has been using Hived settings for several years now and we want to migrate to Personalization.  Unfortunately the way that the Personalization local import works, it will completes the migration before the hived settings are applied to the user profile.  Does anyone know of a different method that would import the local profile settings once they are hived in, essentially either delaying the Personalization import or some way to import the settings after Personalization is set up?  I am totally surprised that there is not a way to easily migrate from one method to the other of customizations.  We are on XenApp 6.5 with Ivanti/AppSense 10.1

EPM 2016.3 SU4 to 2017.3 upgrade: in-place or new core migration?

I'm trying to determine if it's a task I should tackle myself or potentially invest in pro services from a specialist. I'm pretty experienced with EPM now with over 6 years as primary admin on it and have been through 2 upgrades with specialists in the past and they didn't look too bad but specialists always know a few useful tricks.

 

We currently use 2016.3 for provisioning, software distribution and patching. One primary and two much smaller sites, around 700 clients (win7/win10). We use it pretty heavily so downtime more than 2 days would be a problem.

 

I'd also like to know if I tackle it, will an in-place core upgrade be a good idea vs a new core and migrate clients. Current core server is VM so with snapshots and SQL backups, I could roll-back with good confidence.

 

I'm leaning towards doing it myself with in-place core upgrade and roll out the clients over a month or so.

I am creating a request offering and i would like to have the from to have multiple drop down boxes that a dependent on each other.   For instance if the users selects "RISE Front End" then the next text box would have a different set of options than if the user selected "RISE Back End"

 

Can this be done?  if so how?

Disable "new task" when incident is resolved or closed

Can someone tell us how to disable the new task buttons when an incident is status is resolved or closed?  Currently you can create a new task on an incident that is resolved or closed and you do not get the error message until you try and save.  We would like the button disabled.

 

Response levels and escalations

We have a request system, and at one point a "Procurement" task is generated.

The Process of the procurement task has 4 distinct statuses

There is a single "response Level" applied to the task and this has 4 "Escalations" , which use the 4 statuses as their stop and start points to make them sequential.

Each Escalation has (you guessed it) 4 actions , which change colour and send out emails as that Escalation progresses, culminating in it turning red and breaching.

 

The problem ,in a nutshell, is if it breaches in an earlier Escalation, it continues to be breached when the next Escalation starts. I'm not sure if this is by design. This doc seems to suggest you can set it either way, but i dont think im grasping it properly.

 

Indeed its not clear if the subsequent escalations are even starting because even if the task is going to stay breached , the first action of all escalations is to turn it green - which dosent seem to be happening. However the emails are getting sent so i guess the next escalation is running - is the final stage of the first escalation constantly overriding it?

Here is example of one of the 4 escalation configurations:

 

I'm unclear on "Completion type" this can be set to 'Enter status' or 'Leave status'.

Also not sure what the "use re-escalations" thing will do.


Can you hide the clone icon of Saved Search?

Is there a way to hide the clone icon under the Saved Search list for users?  We have an issue when the default Saved Search gets cloned it takes the default to the cloned search. We realize this has been fixed as of Version 2016.2, but because of timing constraints we can't make that upgrade yet.  Anyone know of a way to hide the cloning function without turning off the ability to create and modify personal searches?

when using expression $([^Target_BO# where Target_Field == "value"] ReturnField) it appears that the value cannot be a field in the current business object unless it is the same name, perventing calculated values:

 

eg

My loginID is "12345"

 

If I was in a service request,

using  $([^Employees# where LoginID== "12345"]RecId) would return my RecId from the Employees business object

 

If I now enter "12345" into a new service request field called Target_ID

using  $([^Employees# where LoginID== Target_ID]RecId) would return an error stating Target_ID is not in the employees business object

 

It appears that a variable cannot be turned into a text value for the where clause.  I have tried "Target_ID", tried ToString(Target_ID) each time I obtain the same error.  Unfortunately service requests already have a field LoginId but this cant be used as it is not LoginID (slightly different). 

 

Anyone know how to make the variable into a string s the where clause will work or another expression that I can get the data reference from?

Replies to email from Service Manager are generating a new incident

We have Ivanti set up to create incidents submitted via email to our helpdesk email account, and this works correctly. Currently though, replies to messages sent from Ivanti generate a new incident instead of just updating the existing incident. How do we keep replies from generating a new incident? We just want replies to update the existing incident. Thanks!

Error Using Remote Console - Error installing LANDESK Update.

Hi all,

 

I have an issue with Remote Console not working due to a Database mis-match between Remote Console and the Core.   I have tried to install Updates on the core / and also raised a ticket with support... so was hoping someone on here can advise.  I have been looking around but I have a few issues here and the posts I have seen have not unstuck me with the issue.

 

Error when trying to access Remote Console:

I have been advised to install LANDESK Updates to get them to match (although the updates don't show version numbers that correspond to the versions of the DB in the Remote Console Error.

 

Upon temping to install the following update I get errors.

 

Update LD96_SU-2016-0928

  • I have re-downloaded
  • Unblocked ZIP before extracting.
  • Confirmed the missing files exist in the extract.

I believe this could be related, but I care a lot less about LANDESK beta updates to the Core with potential issues then I do regarding been able to use the Remote Console.  The console is a priority for me but thought I would mention both as they could be related problems.

 

Will update with any news and any attempts I try.

ForEachChild doesn't add new line

Could someone please explain why this expression doesn't add a line break after each value?

I'm using it the change approval request quick action which sends the approval notification email.
