Users are required to enter their credentials when they launch and Office app on non-persistent VDIs. What needs to be captured in order to only enter this once?

Good day!

 

Ok, I know exactly what to do if this was Excel, LOL.

 

BACKGROUND

In Incident we use a Reported CI and Reported Reason field. We then display the Reported CI's OwnerTeam so the Service Desk know who should probably be assigned the Incident.

  • If ReportedCI = "Printer - Local" then EscalationTeam = "Technology Support".

 

NOW TO STEP IT UP AND PREPARE FOR AUTOMATION/SELF-SELFSERVICE.

This works until you start to look at the Reasons(issues) that people call in. Technology Support may not always be the correct escalation team.

 

Often the OwnerTeam of a CI is not the team that would address a particular Reported Reason(issue). This may be due to the location where the issue is occurring, the type of issue, or perhaps the size of a location and the job duties for the personnel. This can be a lot of exceptions for someone to remember.

 

For example, a Printer with a paper jam:

  • In some locations this is handled by Technology Support.
  • In other locations the General Services addresses a paper jam.
  • That said, Technology Support handles all printer menu errors.

 

We need to suggest the team for the Incident Creator. Eventually incoming Self-Service Incidents will go immediately to the correct team and not need to be reviewed/relayed by the Service Desk.

 

SO THE DATA

  • Every CI has a Owning Team
  • CI's can have many Reasons (issues) - Printer jam, Dirty prints, Menu error
  • Reasons can have many CI's - "Application Issue" applies to many of our applications

 

Every combination has a different Escalation Team

QUESTION

What kind of logic do I need to read across multiple rows to locate the value in column? We would know the first 3 columns.

I am thinking I need a Reasons workspace tat would be maintained with all of the routing options possible. I am not clear how I would get the final answer!? Is it simply a series of cascading validation lists constrained by the prior lists?

 

Thanks for any guidance you can provide. This feels very complicated but hopefully is not.

Good day.

 

I am really stuck on this one...

 

BACKGROUND: We have several locations, with 1 being headquarters. Locations vary in size so the same department/team does not handle the same issue in every location.

 

SITUATION:

In Incident, we classify using Reported CI + Reported Reason to determine who should get the Incident. (Automation will do this down the road when we launch Self-Service.)

  • Reported CI - A constrained list of CIs. In this case EnterpriseApplication which are Active.
  • Reason for Call - A constrained list of Reasons applicable to the Reported CI chosen above.
  • Escalation Team - An auto-populated field using Business Rules based on the Reason for Call chosen above. (Right now we only have the OwnerTeam for the CI as an answer which does not suit our needs as described in Background above.)

Here is the Escalation Matrix I'm developing. CI's + Reason = Escalation Team

  • Green Box (Operating as desired)
    • When choosing Active Directory I see two Reasons.
    • Selecting either Reason populates the correct Escalation Team via Business Rule (shown below)
  • Red Boxes (Not working, Pick List manually coded with "San Francisco")
    • When choosing ABBYY... I get the two entries in red boxes below.
    • This needs to be dynamic based on the CustomerLocation in the Incident.

PROBLEM

As seen below this Pick List works perfectly for a Customer in San Francisco (with San Francisco hard-coded). However, I need this to be dynamic and read the Incident.CustomerLocation from the newly created Incident.

 

The issue now lies in the first constraint below. I've tried creating a relationship between Incident and EscalationMatrix. Doing so allowed me to see the Incident.CustomerLocation field to add to the constraint. However, that did not appear to read the field for my new Incident. I assume it is due to the fact that we really aren't linking the Incident and the Escalation Matrix.

SO? Any ideas how to feed the Incident.CustomerLocation into this Pick List? Have I over-promised?!

Since upgrade to 2017.3 ldap user informations desappears from inventory.

 

I know it's the import ldap rule that add information, but i think it's deleted each time an inventory arrive on Core Server..

 

I can "active" ldap import as active rule, but in this case the core server can't import inventory when they arrive and the pending inventory can become very big.

 

I also know that some attibutes can be "permanent" perhaps it's not the case.

Upgrade Relay Servers (2015 SR2) to 10.2.500.0 fails

Hi,

 

Just upgraded our  RES ONE WOrkspace 2015 SR2 environment to Ivanti Workspace Control 10.2.500.0. Did the installation by running "Ivanti Workspace Control Upgrade Pack 10.2.500.0.exe" on our Management Server which has the WM Console installed (and not the WM agent). Upgrade went fine, but when we try to upgrade the Relay Servers we get:

 

"This version of Ivanti Workspace Control cannot be upgraded directly to Ivanti Workspace Control . Please first upgrade it to RES ONE Workspace 2015 (or any other version from RES PowerFuse 8 IR5 onwards)"

 

Which is strange, as the version of our Relay Servers is 2015 SR2.

 

Tried to upgrade some agents and this also went fine.

 

Already opened a case, support engineer told me that the upgrade should take place on a PC that has both the console AND the agent installed, which is strange as the official upgrade guide says:

 

The first computer to be upgraded should be a computer running a Full or Console-only installation of RES Workspace Manager/RES ONE Workspace with a direct connection to the Datastore (i.e. not to Relay Servers).

 

Anyone any idea??

CBA not loaded - linked to Database?

So if anyone else is having this issue or seeing it I have found something that i wanted to see if i can get a correlation to.

 

We have random agents that have CBA not loaded - this is causing issues with our depolyments / patching

 

I have a full clean uninstall powershell script which REALLY cleans the machine and reinstalls the agent - this was not helping

 

So i tried the removal script again but before removing and reinstalling the agent i deleted it from the Database first. This worked.

 

I then decided to just try deleting the machine from the Database  - next time i found a machine with the issue. And NOT touching the agent install in anyway.

 

I then ran a full sync scan manually from the client from the cmd line.

 

To my surprise when the machine came back into the DB the CBA was fine?

 

So it appears to be linked with the DB - my question is what in the DB is linked to the agent reporting CBA not loaded? the IP was all the same so it was not that.

 

This is great as we dont have to remove anything but i am curious to why this is and maybe there is a way or just removing a DB entry rather then the entire Device to fix the CBA -

 

This of course is in our environment it may be different for others.

Hello everyone,

 

I am a new Ivanti user and this is my first post.

 

I am a bit frustrated regarding the inventory local scheduler and I wonder if is there somebody that is facing the same issue.

 

Basically, in the Local Scheduler Command I configured the settings you can see in the attached file but I am not able to handle these tasks as desidered.

 

Although these settings, all my PCs run the inventory scan in different days and not the same days I would like for.

 

I mean, I would like that my inventories always run on Monday-Wednesda and Friday from 1:00pm to 2:00pm but it is not and I do not understand why !!

 

I configured the inventory starting from Monday till Friday but it seems that it considers Saturdays and Sundays too.

 

So, is it right (by design) or is it a bug ?

 

Just another example of a PC which will try to start the inventory on Saturday (...but it will not start it because of it will be turned off on that day):

Lastly, but not less important:

 

I have some users that complaint about the inventory because of it takes long time before finishing (sometimes till 2 or more hours) and I can not understand this too.

the PCs should run a really slight inventory if there is nothing changed from the previuos one but it does not seems because, as I wrote, it seems that inventory always scans all the folders and path that have been already scanned.

 

I really appreciate any useful information or tip on how to "fix" my issues.

Prompt for user to enter time delay on Wait block

I'm using on premise HEAT.


The scenario is that an Analyst raises an Incident for a loan device which they action, then they click the button and set it for xx days, after this time a new task is created to remind the Analyst to collect the loan device.

 

I've worked out how to get a Workflow with a Wait block of x days which then creates the new task. However I'd like the Analyst to be able to change the time when they click the button.

 

I’d like to get a prompt to appear and ask for xx days/hours/minutes and then that wait time is used in the work flow?  Or, if easier, the Analyst picks a date & time on a calendar and it waits until then to create the task.

 

Any suggestions how I could implement this please?

Hello,

 

So, I am trying to mitigate the Synaptic Vulnerability and I am getting no where fast.

 

I've created a distribution package but it fails.  I believe it is failing because the wrong "Latest" driver for this model of laptop was used.  Per Hp's bulletin these laptops need version 17.#.#.25 to mitigate the Synaptic debugger vulnerability.  Many of these laptops have version 19.# installed, which according to HP's bulletin is a version that is vulnerable.

 

So, I need to get 19 off the laptops to install 17.  Unfortunately my switches to force an install don't seem to work.  How do I remove a driver to install a different one using Landesk?

So

Xtraction Group Pivot Not Displaying All Columns

Hello,

 

I'm having issues with a pivot table in Xtraction not showing columns for all the responses to surveys from our CA SDM system.

 

This previously worked according to the report author and some of the people that view it normally. They are not sure when it stopped working.

 

Basically there should be columns for Very Dissatisfied, Dissatisfied, Not Applicable, Satisfied, Very Satisfied, and potentially No Answer.

 

It is only showing 3 columns. Very Satisfied, Very Dissatisfied, and Not Applicable. But the data set it's pulling does contain Satisfied and Dissatisfied.

 

If I filter directly for those responses it will make columns, but it won't display more than 3, so as soon as I filter it to show more answers it just goes back to showing what I originally had.

 

I've looked through all the settings I can find on the dashboard and can't seem to figure out how to get more columns to display.

 

I've attached some screenshots and have more with the actual pivot settings I can attach shortly.


Using 'Run Program' to run Autoit scripts?

Hi, I'm new to Ivanti (running on-premise) and we're still in a pre-live environment.  I am attempting to setup some integration points (unlocking accounts, resetting passwords, etc.) and I already have compiled scripts written in the Autoit script language that do these things.  They run fine when i run them from the remote server, but I get odd results when running them through Ivanti as a QuickAction.  Is anyone else here using Autoit scripts with Ivanti?  Any advice to offer?

Unable to connect via telnet VT220 to host using WavelinkTE and Velocity on MC92N0 with Android

When trying to connect to an host the application stops and presents in dialog box error: Unfortunately, Terminal Emulation has stopped. In Velocity i get exactly the same, only shows: Unfortunately, Velocity has stopped.

I am able to connect using TN3270 or TN5250 emulation to an other host.

Only alternative telnet emulator that works is Glink (competitor's product)

 

But my warehouse WMS is the host i need to connect to.

This has never been an problem before on WindowsCE devices in MC9xxxx series of Symbol (later Motorola, now Zebra) with Wavelink software for over 20 years now.

Since Windows is or will go end of life for these type of devices, i need an working solution on Android based scanners.

 

Tested on MC92N0 (Kitkat 4.4.4) and also on an demo Zebra TC8000 (Kitkat 4.4.3) provided by my supplier but got exact same result/error.

I already made an support ticket here with Ivanti, and with Zebra support, without any succes to date.

Who knows maybe here reads this, and has the same problem, and even better, someone who has an solution or at least suggestions.

WavelinkTE v2.0.18.4977 (newest to date)

Velocity 1.0 / 1.2 / 2.0 ( 2.0 is newest to date)

Alter Validation Rule pop-up box

Is there a way to alter the pop-up box used for validation rules?

For example, the highlighted part is my message on a validation rule. Everything else just adds confusion for the end users when trying to save and is unnecessary information.

Migrating Hived settings to Personalization DB

Our XenApp published desktop environment has been using Hived settings for several years now and we want to migrate to Personalization.  Unfortunately the way that the Personalization local import works, it will completes the migration before the hived settings are applied to the user profile.  Does anyone know of a different method that would import the local profile settings once they are hived in, essentially either delaying the Personalization import or some way to import the settings after Personalization is set up?  I am totally surprised that there is not a way to easily migrate from one method to the other of customizations.  We are on XenApp 6.5 with Ivanti/AppSense 10.1

Query Based Scope returns duplicate results

EPM 2017.3

I found this: Scope returns duplicate results

However my scope is based on a query, the query itself looks fine (no duplicates) but the scope show 1 device multiple times.

I tried changing the columns but still the same no matter which column set I use.

 

Any ideas?
