Where find error description we can find in Console - diagnostics - error ?

Hi,

I have some error in Console and want to know their signification.

Example:

Processus:          res.exe  (10.2.500.0 - C411600)

Procedure:         clsPFDAL.OpenResultSet, SELECT strValue FROM tblSettings WHERE lngClassID = ? AND strSettingLC = ?

Error #: 0

Error Description:            There
is already an open DataReader associated with this Command which must be closed first.

Error #: 0

Error Description:            The surrogate pair (0xD978, 0xD343) is invalid. A high surrogate character (0xD800- 0xDBFF) must always be paired with a low surrogate character (0xDC00 -0xDFFF).

Lookup.ini result based on 2 fields

GoldMine v2018; Need to update a numeric field with a price if the values of two different character fields meet the criteria.

 

I've looked through the forum, community and a couple of different documents I have on the lookup.ini and I don't find any example close to what I need.

 

UCOLOR must equal "Red"

UTYPE must equal "Chair"

If both conditions are met, then UPRICE will update to 543.00

 

These are the expressions I've tried:

 

[AUTOUPDATE]

UCOLOR=UPRICE

UTYPE=UPRICE

 

[UPRICE]

LOOKUP1=&IIF(CONTACT2->UCOLOR)="Red",&IIF(CONTACT2->UTYPE)="Chair",543,0

OVERWRITE=1

 

I've tried "OTHERWISE"= instead of "Lookup1="

I've tried different positions of the parentheses.

I've tried with and without the "&".

I've tried using ".and." between the two expressions and not the "IIF".

I know that numeric values do not require single or double parentheses.

 

The issue is probably a combination of all the variations.

 

Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you!

Hello, one of my customer's would like to simplify the customers survey experience.

They simply want to capture if they were happy with the service or not.

When the survey notification is sent, it has 4 face icons. We want the user to click on the face that best represents their experience with the service desk.

 

Upon clicking the Icon, I want execute the same action as pressing submit on the survey.

See Screenshots below/ attached

 

Example:

Click on one of the faces and iw ill spawn and submit the corresponding survey

 

 

 

Looking for the url that this submit button executes

Role to Create/Edit Dashboards

Is there a role, other than Admin, within ITSM (HEAT) that is allowed to create and edit dashboards?  If not, what permissions do I need to add to a role to accomplish?

PXE Rep not Broadcasting - Can't PXE Boot

All-

 

I'm having some issues with PXE. The PXE rep, regardless of what elected client it is, is not broadcasting as a rep. Sometimes the appropriate services are running, sometimes they aren't and I restart them. Very very strange that this all of a sudden started happening in our environment (I'm not aware of any changes we have made). For about 2 months prior to this issue reappearing, PXE booting and imaging worked great.

 

The first time something like this happened, it resolved itself. When a client would boot and search for reps, it would find a rep but the elected rep would have a randomly generated IP on it's own subnet. This was due to our computers using Cisco Umbrella ODNS as a filtering and traffic monitoring solution. At some point between Cisco updating Umbrella endpoint software and the ivanti core being updated/upgraded to the most current version (2017.3 SU2), the PXE reps started functioning properly.

 

Some notable information:

ivanti 2017.3 SU2 running on Server 2016 Standard

Reps vary from desktop to laptop running Windows 7/Windows 10 version 1703 and 1709

All Dell Optiplex (7010, 5040, 7050) or Dell Latitude (E5480, E5470, E5450, E5440)

Verified Firewall ports are open and allowing traffic to the best of my abilities on both clients and network appliances

Made zero changes to the .wim boot file except update the background

I noticed the .wim images are not replicating with the updated image (followed the troubleshooting on the community with no avail)

Tried PXE reps with and without any security (all of our security products as well as none and dropping the firewall)

*I had noluck whatsoever finding the registry keys to change the score of a PXE rep so it was by happen-chance I was working with the right computers

 

Attached are all of the logs and information I could possibly think of. All help is welcome! I may end up opening a support ticket but thought I'd post on here first. If I remember any other details, I'll be sure to reply with them. Thanks!

Replacement for custom script task?

I just upgraded from 9.6SP2 to 2017.3, and while I am converting all of the packages and tasks, I came across a custom script that would clear out the task queue for clients that were stuck in waiting to execute or policy made available status.  It is my understanding that custom definitions took the place of custom scripts, but that would not work in this instance since it would get stuck in the very queue it is trying to clear.  Is there a way to do this now?

HEAT UAT Database Issue

Hi all,


We're having an issue at the moment following a Database refresh on our UAT environment.

 

We have a call outstanding but I thought I'd ask the forum to see if anyone else has had the same issue.

 

Steps taken:

  • Back up taken of Prod Application Database and restored into the STG environment successfully.
  • Back up then taken of STG to remove email listener settings and restored to the UAT app database
  • Log on unavailable in UAT DB – error message is ‘Access Denied’. DB can be seen by the server as it is presenting the log on screen
  • Prod back up then restored to UAT including email listener being on – the email service on UAT server has been disabled to stop the application looking in the Prod mailbox and logging calls in UAT incorrectly
  • Same issue with log on applies to UAT with refresh straight from Prod
  • All server application services and ISS Services have been restarted on UAT server after all DB restores
  • Another Prod backup was taken at a later date than that of the one restored into STG and put straight into UAT – same issue with log on applies
  • A back up of the UAT DB was taken one calendar week before the refresh that has worked in STG and not in UAT. This back up that is solely of the UAT DB can be restored to make the UAT application work, however this does not contain the relevant data or config settings that are applied in the Prod or STG
  • Local Admin account also fails to log onto Application – even running script on the DB to set the password to a generic log on does not allow access
  • All user accounts do not have access

 

Does anyone happen to know the specific tables in the DB that store the user accounts or log ons etc. as we might be able to strip these out of the working old version of UAT and into the new one as a trial.

 

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

How to make mandatory Package ?

Hello,

 

In our domain we have some applications we needs to be installed after domain integration because the location of the computer will change some settings.

 

Currently we use script for install software in GPO but it's too heavy (We have almost 5-6 applications like that).

 

I would know if it's possible to create something like "mandatory package distribution"

 

Each computer in specific scope, must have a specific list of applications (installed by EPM)

Resetting file associations in Environment Manager 10.1

Hello - I am new to administering Environment Manager 10.1. We have some users who are experiencing problems with file associations within certain applications, and we would like to reset this component of their profile, without resetting everything.  I'm able to navigate to the user's Personalization Analysis, and it's pretty clear how to reset/delete various components of their user profile. But I'm unclear where the 'file associations' would reside under the different Windows components - would it be 'Explorer Settings'?  I'd prefer not to use trial and error to figure it out, so any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you.

PC not reporting after uninstall\re-install agent

Hello all,

We have a machine that has lost connectivity to the core. I have reinstalled the agent but that did not fix the issue. Uninstalled the agent - rebooted, installed the agent, noticed that the agent is set to gateway mode (switched it to in Direct Mode) ran Inventory Scan, and the machine is still not showing up on the core.

What next steps can i try? Cleanup the registry but i am not sure what to look for.

Writing template variables in WinPE through user input

For so many years, I've been seeing LANDESK/Ivanti touting their ability to have one template for all provisioning scenarios.  For the most part, this is true.  But, I am falling short of their nirvana because of  OU joining. 

 

Currently, we have 12 OU's that our PC's can land in and I have to maintain 12 separate templates that join the machines to these OU's.  I am doing the OU join in the unattend.xml during sysprep processing, not the join domain action in the system configuration pass of the provisioning template. 

 

I have been working on a batch file to run at the beginning of the provisioning process that will prompt the tech to enter the destination OU.  What I need to figure out is how to have this batch file write to the template variable, say %destination_ou%, that gets resolved when the inject script action injects the unattend.xml file.

 

ie:  <MachineObjectOU>OU=%destination_ou%,OU=Managed Computers,DC=COMAPANY,DC=CORP</MachineObjectOU>  gets resolved to <MachineObjectOU>OU=MyOU,OU=Managed Computers,DC=COMPANY,DC=CORP</MachineObjectOU> after the unattend.xml is injected.

 

Even if I were to use the join domain action in the system configuration pass, I would still need a way to pass the user input to the provisioning variable.  When testing to see the template variables, I can't see them in WinPE, such as %ldhostname% which gets set as a database variable in the template.  From a cmd prompt in WinPE, echo %ldhostname% shows %ldhostname% when echo %path% gives me C:\Windows\system32;C:\Windows;C... etc.

 

Does anyone know of a way this can be done?

Firewall ports for Avanlanche setup

Hi,

Should be quick and simple.. I'm trying to understand the firewall settings here.. I installed  Avalanche product on one server, the DB is externel and I'm using Android device as scanner.

1. Ports for "Mobile Device server ports" should I allow the traffic from server source or client source or both?

2. Ports for "SecurePlus and RC ports".. not should to understand the in/out.. I should I read it?

User cannot see all his contacts list

One of remote user cannot see full list of contacts he owns.

The single view he can see is only of 2 contacts (from ~270 contacts), nothing more.

And even these contacts are nothing to do with him. Or his ownership.

If I click on "Company" to search for a certain Company, search result gives a big 0 (zero).

This behavior is only on his remote Goldmine app installation.

I have tried to replicate in other remote installation and it works fine. All contacts can be seen. So is not database related but only local application configuration.

Question: where is the hack? What has he setup by accident and now we do not know how to revert?

GoldMine Web (GMWEB) - Server Error: Error, Run SQLcollation statements error.

 

This occurs when entering an email in Update Contact. About 30 seconds after clicking OK, the message appears. I have tried numerous contacts in our database and the results are the same.

 

I applied GoldMine-2018.1-HF2 in March. I am not sure if the problem existed before that or not.

 

Any help before I open a New Support Case is appreciated.

Gateway missing

A recent install of Ivanti Service Manager and almost all functionality is present but unfortunately when trying to have the Discovery client configured using an on-premise Gateway I noticed that within the "Administrator > More" section that "Gateway" doesn't even appear as an option?!?!

Error when adding button to add External Task to Service Request

I have a button I want to link to a tab in Service Request.

The tab exists called "External Tasks", and my Action is:

CurrentTab:ObjectWorkspace:ObjectView

When I click on button I get this error: 

Action error: Cannot execute the chosen action. No tab of type Task#Workorder is available in the workspace.

What did I miss or is this a bug in this version 2015.2.1

Would like to set up an Ivanti patch systems with distributed servers and external repositories,

cant find the how to .. is it even possible with Ivanti's patching solution?

 

For example we have 2 major sites

 

Site A has the DB and initial installation on server1 - Site A will have agentless and agent installs, also the repository for the site on Server1

Site B has server2, should server2 use same DB as server1? or have its own DB with Site A reporting on it.

There are lots of smaller satellite offices - want these to report in to Server1/Site A, but have its patches stored on a PC at the site to minimise bandwith usage

 

How do I go about this?

I have read the documentation but its vague and high level

Imaging with Windows 10 without HII

I have been testing at work configuring Dell OptiPlex without HII when imaging with Windows 10 1709.  I noticed it has saved a lot of time during the imaging process.  Is this a good practice to follow or should I keep HII in the provisioning template?
