Additional Category (Subcategory) Fields and Auto Assignment?
We are about to switch from ISD (LANDesk) to ISM (HEAT) and have our Configuration & Administrator training sessions booked for next month.
In the meantime I've been tasked to find out:
1) if it is possible to add additional category fields to use as subcategories in ISM
2) if auto assignment is possible on the 'Service' or the 'Category' (or even on the potentially added subcategory)
Having been playing with the Demo site I am relatively confident that the answer to both is likely to be 'Yes this is possible' however we would appreciate a definitive answer as this will possibly change the way we are thinking about categories. Having been using ISD (LANDesk) we are used to having up to 3 levels of subcategory under each category hence the question above.
Personally I think I am coming around to ISM's way of grouping services and then having categories linked to them rather than having multiple category & subcategory fields however this may not be fine enough detail or may potentially lead to long lists of categories under some services - does anybody have any thoughts regarding this?

Preferred Server Variable Ivanti 2017.1
Hello All ,
Is there any way to set up provisioning in Ivanti 2017.1 to take the image from a preferred server? Near as I can tell, it will always take it from the UNC Path specified in the template. However, we are a multi-site organization, and imaging over the WAN is not really feasible. I would really rather not have to set up separate templates for each site.
We made OSD Template to deploy Master , previously on LDMS 9.6, we used \\preferredserver\shareimage , but on 2017.1 the \\preferredserver doesnt not resolve anything which is on his Ip range.
screenshot : as you can see on LDMS 9.6 this variable ( "PreferredServer") on UNC works good .. but does not work anymore on Ivanti 2017.1 .
Do you have any ideas to use this variable again ?

Crash on loading boot.sdi
I am having problems PXE booting ESX VMs on 2017.3. This morning I had VMs that would not provision, they could not get an IP address for the template. I spent the morning working with various drivers and finally got that to work. Then I went to reload a couple more VMs that happened to be on VM version 8. Knowing that I have had previous lockup problems with Windows 10 on VM version 8, I opted to upgrade the hardware to currently available 11. Now when I try to PXE that newly upgraded system, I cannot load the boot.sdi file. It ends up crashing with the message that "A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed." I went through all the postings about changing the TFTP block size, but unless it takes time for that change to replicate, those options didn't help. At the moment, I am stuck in a pickle: Either stay on hardware version 8 which locks up machines randomly, or have machines that can't PXE. Assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

LANDesk-Server für PXE-Verteilung einrichten will nicht funktionieren
Hallo!
Ich muss die OS-Installation von herkömmlichen PXE-Server auf LANDesk-PXE portieren, aber es funktioniert nicht. Die Dokumentation ist auch irgendwie lückenhaft. Vielleicht kann mir jemand, der schon OS-Verteilung über LANDesk praktiziert, auf die Sprünge helfen.
Im DHCP-Server habe ich Option 66,67 deaktiviert und eine 43 so konfiguriert, dass der LANDesk-Server gesucht und auch gefunden wird.
Wenn der Client aber dann das PE-Bootimage sucht, schlägt es fehl mit der Fehlermeldung: "Could not locate boot server".
Das ist aus meiner Sicht auch logisch, da auf dem LANDesk-Server kein Bereitstellungs-Dienst läuft.
Ich habe den "Selbstwahldienst für Subnetz" aktiviert und konfiguriert.
Ich habe die Preboot-Einstellungen vorgenommen. Dabei ist mir aufgefallen, dass ich zwar das Bootmedium erstellen kann, aber es gibt keine Aktivierungs- oder Bereitstellungs-Option.
Was muss ich also noch tun, um dem anfragenden Client die Möglichkeit zu geben, das Start-OS zu laden?

Reclamation and adding to portal
I am just getting around to start adding reclamation tasks for certain pieces of software and had a couple of questions first.
1. Reclamation seems straight forward, any gotcha's to be aware of?
2. While going through the options, it shows an option to add the computer to a scheduled task that adds the software into the portal to reinstall it. I am pretty sure this does not exist, but my boss wanted to know if we could limit the install unless we have available licenses. Is this functionality granted inside EPM?

Notebook wird als Virtual Machine erkannt (Basic Inventory)

ich habe hier einen Client (Dell Precision 7520), welcher über das Basic Inventory als "Virtual Machine" erkannt wird. Andere Geräte des Modells, werden richtig erkannt.
Das Dumme ist nun, das ich einen Filter habe, der unter anderem diese Eigenschaft nutzt. Im Notfall baue ich diesen um, aber mich interessiert einfach, warum der Rechner falsch erkannt wird.Wie könnte dies entstehen?

DSM Konsole stürzt ab

WebDesk Menu Option Usage
Over the years we've accumulated a lot of menu options within WebDesk for our Analysts. We'd like to cut the menus down to the ones that have been clicked on (used). Is there a way to record menu usage so we know which are redundant and potentially be removed?

Ich habe ein Problem mit dem o.g. Befehl, im Script sieht das so aus. Da sind die Haken entsprechend gesetzt, sodass Benutzer- und Computerteil als "nicht installiert" protokolliert sind:

Das betreffende Paket hat den Tag und ist danach auf Reinstall gesetzt und wird auf dem Client erneut ausgeführt. Allerdings scheint er keine Benutzerteile auszuführen, jedenfalls kommt die MsgBox nicht hoch:

Windows 10 Standard Keyboard Layout bei Installation
Hallo Community
Ich bin nach langer Abwesenheit wieder mal im Forum aktiv. Wir konnten nun unsere W10 Clients von W10 1607 auf W10 1709 erfolgreich mit dem Inplace Upgrade aktualisieren.
Nun sind wird gerade dabei, dass Installationspaket für Windows 10 1709 zu erstellen. Bis auf die Default Sprache (Keyboard Layout) konnten wir bisher alles einrichten.
Bei W10 1607 hatte ich bereits schon mal die Problematik aber durch die Verschiebung des DSM Forum zu Ivanti ging sehr vieles bei mir verloren (Chats sowie Posts).
Nun stellt sich uns die Frage, wie wir das Keyboard Layout Default auf DE-CH setzen könnten?
Ich danke euch im Voraus für die Tipps.

1.Failed to create all default log explorer templates for detailed information please consult the log file
2. could not set the non blocking option the RPC Call to swset option failed error 18.

Service Request Owner
For the Incident object, I was able to drag in a couple extra elements to the Self-Service form so that users can look at their submitted incidences and see who, if anyone, has been assigned to their incident. However, it seems I can't do the same with Service Requests. It's as if the Self-Service form is hard-coded. Is there anywhere in here where I can squeeze in an Owner field? If so, how do I access the form? Literally anywhere on the following screens would be fine:
