How can I ensure capitalization on name fields?

What is the proper way to ensure that a field is capaitalized i.e. FirstName?

 

Need to ensure that data in fields are capitalized if they were not input that way.

 

Would like to avoid lowercasing any intermediate cap letters i.e. correct   mcGhee to  McGhee and not  Mcghee

For a new installation of Ivanti Management Suite we created a copy of the database connected to Service Desk.

After I changed the database configuration within the Data Connection in Service Desk, imports do not work and the log just gives me:

6/7/2018 3:49:23 PM : Import Started [TEST MODE]

6/7/2018 3:49:23 PM : There are no objects in the database to Import or the datasource could not be accessed. Make sure the datasource is not locked by another application or another user.

6/7/2018 3:49:23 PM : No Source Objects found

6/7/2018 3:49:23 PM : Import Ended

6/7/2018 3:49:23 PM : This import took 00:00:00

 

The views we address in the data connections stayed the same and were not changed name wise.

New object search set up

Hi,

 

I have created my own business object but am having trouble setting up the search function in the top right corner of the workspace. It may be irrelevant, but this object is like CI in that there are multiple types all shown in the same tab.

 

I am getting the error below when selecting "Full-text Indexed" in the options for any field :

 

Currently the only field that this box will search off is the Case number which i have set as the Display field for the object. Strangely though, when I search using the case number the record comes up on the search dropdown, but when I click it or press enter all the existing records are returned anyway.

 

Any ideas?

Migrating Machines from Management Center 8.7 to 10.1 FR4

i am Actually Testing the Migration of machines from 8.7 to 10.1 AMC

following are the Steps i followed and faced some issues

 

  1. Uninstalled the CCA and EM Agent using an uninstaller utility from a Machine which is pointing 8.7 AMC deployment group
  2. Rebooted
  3. Installed the packaged 10.1 CCA  which will register the machine into a 10.1 Deployment group called “staging”
    1. When I install the 10.1 CCA, the machines started showing up in the 10.1 Staging deployment group – this is working as expected
    2. Rebooted the machine to run the “staging” deployment group’s startup actions
    3. Staging policy has the startup action to unregister the machine from the current deployment group and register with appropriate production deployment group based on the Domain of the Machine, - this is working fine
  4. Both the 10.1 Staging and Production deployment group is configured to install the agents -  this is working fine I could see that remaining agents (EM and AM )were got installed
  5. % of deployment is 100% for the Migrated machine on 10.1 deployment group -this is working fine from the 10.1 console perspective
    • 10.1 version of EM and AM policy is also there in the Add or remove programs List
    • Checked the Following location to verify which policy is part of the machine c:\programdata\appsense\   there is no configuration at all, I could only see merged config folder and system configuration

When I actually logged into the Migrated Machine, I did see the following issue

 

Issue 1

    1. 8.6 version of EM policy and 8.9 version of AM policies are still there in the Add or remove programs list
    2. 10.1 version of EM and AM policy is also there in the Add or remove programs List
    3. Checked the Following location to verify which policy is part of the machine c:\programdata\appsense\   there is no configuration at all, I could only see merged config folder and system configuration

 

Could any one  please Advise us,  how can we re mediate this ?

I was actually expecting the that the 8.6 EM and 8.9 AM  policy to be  replaced by 10.1 policies

 

 

Issue 2

 

  • Machine is reporting online on both the infrastructure (AMC 8.7 and 10.1)
  • I was able to poll the machine from both infrastructure

 

I was expecting that machine should report offline on the non-active deployment group so that we can mark that machine as Migrated one.

 

Any Suggestions on the best practices on how to migrate the 8.7 machines to 10.1 infrastructure? 

IE favorites sync causing shortcuts to not launch

I am running into a weird, random problem when syncing a user's home directory favorites to the local favorites.  At random times, favorites will become unusable and will not launch or show the URL associated to the favorite (but they are visible to the user).  When connecting to the users machine through the Admin$ share, I can see their favorites and launch them without any problems.  I can also restore the shortcut from a previous days backup and it works.  What is AppSense writing to the shortcut when it copies that would prevent it from launching for a user?

ISM SSL / TLS error when adding package to project in Development

Hi,

 

I have a customer who has ISM 2017.3.1000.31399 . They want to use HTTPS. As instructed we added 443 bindings and the correct certificate. ISM (DEV) is opening secure and correct.

For it is a Staging tenant we want to record a project en add this to a package so we can update the Production.

 

So, when adding a package to a project the following error occurs:

 

We have a Production server and a Staging / UAT server. OpsConsole runs on Staging / UAT.

 

Anyone knows how to solve this? The customers does not use a wildcard certificate.

I have been reviewing setting that will allow me to export a CSV, creating a Data Export Connection and Export Data from a Quick Action on a schedule.

 

I am searching for an option to export the file without the system adding a time stamp to the file. I would like to save the CSV as a static name on a daily schedule so I can have a different system perform an import from the CSV.

Site Selector Server role in old 8.4 and now in 10.1

Hello,

 

We have a existing AppSense 8.4 setup as below:

Management server has also Environment server role with Sites created for Personalisation Groups across 2 DataCenters

Another set of Server are as Environment server role and are Personalisation Servers.

The End State Config is setup of the Non-Persistent VDI environment and same msi is installed on the PVS Image.

The config has the Personalisation server as the load balanced server URL of Management servers

The Sites are configured on the Management server with the Membership rules of different Personalisation Groups.

 

We are planning create the Ivanti 10.1 setup as below:

Management server wont have another role

Personalisation server will have the site configured with membership rules of different Personalisation Groups

The End State config would have the Personalisation server as the load balanced server URL of Personalisation servers

 

Kindly let us know if this is how it should be done as the Site Selector servers are no more in use?

Hi

 

Is there any reason why "category" needs to be specified when creating a package for a desktop link? We don't have a need or want to use categories and can't see why it should be a pre-requisite. If you try and save the URL package it does not let you save because of it.

Is there a way to delete the patch history for a device?

So I have a server that I slipstreamed a load of patches into, or so I thought, and from EPM's point of view it states patches were applied on a certain date.

 

However I can see from the server itself that the patch has not actually installed at all.

 

So I am wondering if there is a way I can delete the patch history data for the server so that I can run a fresh Vulscan to get an up to date actual patch listing?

 

I am assuming that a vulscan will pick up patches applied that EPM has not applied?

Where is the default curtaining for new records set?

We've been using GM since 2000 and are currently running GMPE 2018.1.  We use it only in our sales department and our sales reps have defined territories/vertical markets.

 

We have never used any type of record ownership (all are set to public) or curtaining (all WERE set to null).  Recently I had a sales rep tell me that he created a new contact but couldn't see it.  I checked and could see it just fine.  I checked the record details for the contact he created and sure enough the curtaining was set to complete. I fixed it and ran a query to see which records had a 2 in the second character of the Contact1: Status field and all but one of our contacts (the one I manually changed for him) was set to full curtaining.  There is no clear explanation for how that could have happened since it would have been quite the laborious process for someone to have edited each of our contact records using the 'Edit -> Record Properties' feature and only I and my Network Admin have rights to do any global replacing.

 

I have since updated all of our current contacts to no curtaining using the lead management feature, but new contacts are still being defaulted to complete curtaining.  I checked each user's Properties, and under Ownership, all of us default to 'Public'  owner and curtaining is set to 'None' for new records.  I'm about to pull my hair out. 

 

Can anyone point me in the right direction?  Why are new records being curtained when they are created?

Update In-House Application to iOs devices

Hello

We use IEM 2018.1 (update of 2017.3)
Every 1 year, we have to renew the certificates of our internal applications and redeploy them via MDM.
This is an update and not a simple installation.

 

Under AOD Wavelink, we change the IPA files and in the AOD interface, the CFBuildingversion. After that, the updated application replaced the old version on all iDevices.

 

Since version 2017.1, then the following, I can't make the update.

I hav modified the IPA and the id Version,

Having an application expired on 685 devices via MDM 2018.1, I am looking to perform this update, what is the solution ?

 

For the moment, the only solution, is to users delete the application manually (and lost information of this appliaction) and wait 1 hour the re-installation of this by the automated scheduled task of EPM; but for more than 600 iOs devices, it's not a very pratical solution.

 

Please help, rapidely

Hello,

 

Here's my problem:

 

- i've created an advance agent and i used the UDD to discover some computer on my network.

 

If i create a scheduled task for the agent (push) and run the task it will stay active forever so i had to delete the task.

I've also noticed that if i use the "tutorial" about UDD and create a schedule task (instad od clicking "run now"), the task wil lstart but never end.

 

The account use for the scheduler is a domain account who is local admin of any computer.

The account is alos on the l"Landesk  Administrators" group on the Core server.

 

I have no error and i don't know where to look (logs, etc...).

 

Can you help me?

Hi All,

 

I'm looking to start a discussion regarding Analytic Metrics - any experiences with this, advice, business use cases etc. please share

 

This seems to have the potential to be a powerful tool within ISM but it's difficult to nail down some aspects such as Historical Metrics (or at least it has been in my experience!). I am hoping a discussion will help us to realise the capabilities of the feature and perhaps even introduce some people to it.
