Hide from Menu : Go to the Start screen

Hi,

 

I would like to remove from the logout menu which consist of "logout,disconnect,refresh" the option "go to Start screen" wich allow to display the windows server start screen.

 

Below the menu I would like to remove.

I've tried several options from "lockdow and behavior" menu, wihout success.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Windows 10 Tiles empty with res10tiles.xml filled

Quick environment info:

- Ivanti workspace control 10.2.9

     * using "Custom Resources" with "DefaultTileLayout_Windows10.xml" file
- Windows 10, v1709 with latest windows updates

- Desktop shell configured "Use Microsoft Windows Shell as the default Shell"

- non-persistent VDI

- Users have "Modify" NTFS permissions in own userprofile (\RES Settings)

- No GPO configuration for Start Menu

 

Issue is that the "res10tiles.xml" file is not loaded correctly.

The "DefaultTileLayout_Windows10.xml" is loaded correctly when the res10tiles.xml file isn't in .".\RES Settings\".

The moment you logoff, "res10tiles.xml" is created in the "..\RES Settings\" folder and the file is filled with the information of the "DefaultTileLayout_Windows10.xml". (That works fine)
When you logon and the Ivanti Workspace control agent has loaded all the settings completley, your tiles in the "Start Menu" is "empty", but the "res10tiles.xml" filled.

If you logoff the "res10tiles.xml" is modified, and empty because the Tiles in the Start Menu or Empty, so your in  a loop.

 

LOOP:

Tiles filled in Start Menu,  log off, "res10tiles.xml" is filled, log on, Tiles empty in Start Menu, "res10tiles.xml" is still filled, log off, "res10tiles.xml" is empty, logon, Tiles empty in Start Menu.

 

 

Is there a solutions for this, or does someone else have the same issues?

CustomAppUserModeliDs.xml

Hi,

 

We have created a CustomAppUserModeliDs.xml file to allow multiple instances of custom apps to appear in the start menu which works a treat. However, we have a domain that consists of both Windows 10 and Windows 7 operating systems.

 

Would the .xml file being pushed out to Windows 7 machines be detrimental to their configuration?

 

How does Widows 10 reference the CustomAppUserModeliDs.xml file once it is in Custom Resources? Would it be possible to place the file in a start-up script to copy it into the Custom Resources folder, or does the act of allowing Ivanti to copy it there from the Custom Resources configuration screen make a difference?

 

Alternatively, is there a way to specify which items are downloaded to a specific OS from Custom Resources, or is it a catch all?

Hi Folks

 

Is there a way to completely disable the keyboard shortcuts in Ivanti Service Manager Premise 2017.3? Since they also work without pressing the "ALT" button it is very dangerous. Things might get changed or saved unknowingly...

Hi all

 

I'm getting the below error in my logs:

 

The length of field Journal.Email.EmployeeRecID value is 34 characters, which exceeds the maximum allocated in field definition (32 characters). The value cannot be stored in database.

 

This is a fairly regular occurance however the Field in Configuration is uneditable so I'm unable to extend the field length

Any ideals how to do this?

Inspect not working on Windows 7 machines

We have recently installed Ivanti EPM 2017.3.  (I have not got as far as installing any SU's yest)

 

We have begun to roll out new Windows 10 PC's along side our current Windows 7 PC's and all devices have now had a new agent built from the new EPM 2017.3 server installed.

 

Pretty much everything seems to be working fine but if we right clikc a Windows 7 device in the console and select Inspect the window states that real time moitoring is not enabled.  I can see in the agent though that it is.

 

This is the same agent on the Windows 10 PC's and Inspect works fine on those.

 

Inspect worked on the Windows 7 PC's before we upgraded to 2017.3 from 2016.3 so I am unsure why this would stop working now.

 

The only thing that has changed is the new server and the new agnet on all the PC's.

 

Anyone any thoughts why itwould pick on Windows 7 PC's?

Wake on Lan Devices wont shut down

Hello,

 

as you can read in the Title, im trying to use WoL to Patch devices and shut them down. The script is working without any problems, but the devices wont want to shut down after the task was sucessfully executed (I've waited more than 2 hours after completion).

 

As you can see in the Screenshot, Wake up devices is checked (Most of the devices are waking up, but not allways every device).

Is there something i am missing?

Use a calculation to find a 7 digit customer number in the title or text attributes of a Note on an Incident

I have been tasked with getting our Landesk Ivanti system to be able to sent our Incident reference number in an email to another company's servicedesk ticketing system and in turn extract their Incident Ref number from the email they send back to us, so that both service desk can send and receive creation emails and update emails with as little manual (human) involvement as possible. Their system is Microsoft's Cloud Provance  by the way and is currently set to send out their incident number in the both the subject and body text of the emails they send to us. Getting two entirely in related servicedesks to communicate with each other obviously begs a lot of practical questions but I'm not going to get into all that now, I'm just focusing on get their incident number so I can send them a Reminder back with their incident number in first part of the subject.

 

As far as I can tell the only way I can in do this inside our newly and especially designed Incident process, is to use a calculation to find numbers in a the text or body of the update or creation email note. I don't know a huge amount about calculations, but I've read Calculation Writing Tutorial - 4.  Working with Collections and Loops and done a few simple experiments but I was wondering if anybody has tried to use calculation to find and copy 7 digit number in attribute in a Note Title or Text body?

 

I'd also be interested in hearing from anyone who has any feedback or has tried to get their Landesk ITSM to send emails as part of a process to a 3rd party/external 'automated reply email' system or Helpdesk/Servicedesk product.

I'm looking at the accompanying SQL statement that is generated with the Test-to-Live Does anyone know how I would exclude the checking and migration of Form tabs (Those that exist at the bottom of a form) specifically Tabs containing queries.

Excluding the checking and migration of All form tabs would be great too.

Trying to run a remote powershell script using credssp

Hello there,

 

I'm trying to run a Powershell script triggered by a Service Request via Quick Action (run a program). The script does some stuff in Active Directory.

When the script is run by the Quick Action on a remote server, I get the following errors:

After "Import-Module ActiveDirectory":

WARNING: Error initializing default drive: 'Unable to contact the server. This may be because this server does not

exist, it is currently down, or it does not have the Active Directory Web Services running.'.

Afer any following AD cmdlet, e.g. "Get-ADUser -Identity AdamSam":

Unable to contact the server. This may be because this server does not exist, it is currently down, or it does not

have the Active Directory Web Services running.

    + CategoryInfo          : ResourceUnavailable: (AdamSam:ADUser) [Get-ADUser], ADServerDownException

    + FullyQualifiedErrorId : ActiveDirectoryServer:0,Microsoft.ActiveDirectory.Management.Commands.GetADUser

 

I did some research and there is a way to do this by using Credssp authentication ("2nd-Hop-Problem", Kerberos Delegation). So I followed instructions to enable Credssp.

Manually I run a Powershell console and use the command:

Enter-PSSession -ComputerName <targetcomputer> -Credential (Get-Credential) -Authentication Credssp

Works fine! I had the same errors described above when I tried it manually before Credssp was enabled, so Credssp is a resolution.

 

My question now is: how do I set up the quick action to use Credssp?

Currently it looks like this:

Connection:                              MyConnection (connection to target computer configured with an user that has admin rights)

Program with path:                   C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\Powershell.exe

 

Arguments:                               -File D:\Scripts\MyScript.ps1 param1 param2 param2

Wait for the program to finish:    true

Show Output:                             true

Output Field:                              ScriptResult

 

As far as I know, there is no commandline parameter for Powershell.exe to change authentication method

Has anybody tried this yet?

wir haben die virtuellen Server auf denen unsere Depots liegen in eine neue Umgebung umgezogen.

Seitdem funktioniert leider das Aktualisieren der Depots nicht mehr. Im Log auf dem Master finden wir folgenden Eintrag:

Change Workspaces Logo on login/logon page

Service Desk 2016.4

 

On the logon screen for workspaces it has a massive LANDESK logo.

 

To change the logo you need to replace the following file:

\\{server}\{installation drive}\Program Files (x86)\LANDESK\BridgeIT\Content\images\logon-logo-blue.svg

 

  1. I did this by uploading my logo to a site like Method Draw and saving it as an SVG.
  2. Rename the existing file (.old on the end)
  3. Place your image in the same path and rename to logon-logo-blue.svg.
  4. Refresh your Workspaces page and voilà

 

You may need to clear your internet browser cache or preform an application pool recycle or IISRESET to see the change. I pressed F5 and it loaded immediately.

 

There may be easier and neater ways but until the option is put it to change it as the administrator then this will do. I also don't recommend Method Draw as the only option, it was the first one I clicked on. Finally, this hasn't been fully tested by myself so please test yourselves before doing this in the production environment.


Average incident resolution time

My Boss has just asked the not unreasonable question:

"Can we get the average call time?"

 

IE The time between when an incident is opened to when it is resolved , taking into account business hours. For every call this year.

I'm a little stumped unless theres some magic attrib I dont know about.

Any ideas anyone?

I've found a similar post from 2011 where Julian replied "Isnt it the "IncidentDurationbyDays" report?" , which sounds promising , but wheres that?

Its not in the 'system report' in the designer...

 

Change Calendar Functionality

Hello,

 

Has anyone out there had any luck using the Service Desk Change Calendar? When we create new Change records they show in the calendar, but the calendar items themselves seem completely independent of the associated change record. This causes some aggravation when a change gets rescheduled but the calendar item does not reflect the change. Right now we are managing them separately and it is a very manual process (Also very unpopular). I have attempted to use window copy rules to move the new date from the Change record to the Calendar entry, but have never gotten this to work. Has anyone been able to get these to work together in a meaningful way? I would love to hear any solutions other folks are using. Thanks!

Copy Date field in a Parent/Child Change Request

Hello All, has anyone been able to copy a date/time attribute from a Parent request and pass it to the Child request when the Child request is created? I have tried but on date/time attributes there is no option to select a value for date/time fields? Has anyone accomplished some other method that would work better than what I am describing? Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Prevent Mobile Devices Charging

We are currently deploying Device Control 5..1.2 for a customer and they have enquired about preventing mobile devices from charging when connected to a laptop / desktop via USB.

Is this something that is possible ?
