I have an issue regarding the lumesnion device control application .

User's system is unable to detect any of the USB Devices.somedays before it was working fine it was able to detect the USB Devices but now system does not detect any of the USB  devices.I though it is an issue with the USB Ports but when other user logs in on the same system the system detects the USB Devices.

would like to know is there anything that lumension is blocking access to all the usb devices  like not allowing access to any of the usb devices because none of the usb devices are getting detected by the system.Please suggest

In response to this Community thread, I have created a tool that will modify the ComputerName value in a Sysprep Unattend XML file after being injected during WinPE Provisioning.

 

The purpose of this tool is to eliminate the need to chose between automatic and manual computer naming when injecting an Unattend XML.

 

Syntax:

 

CompName.exe N "C:\Path\To\YourUnattend.xml"

 

The first command line argument is the number of seconds to wait before the tool exits and makes no modifications to the Unattend XML.

The second argument is the path to the Unattend XML you wish to modify.  You must wrap this string in quotes, even if there are no spaces in the pathname.

Both arguments are mandatory or the tool will default to 300 seconds and "C:\Unattend.xml"

 

Use:

In a Provisioning template, make a new Action of the type "Execute File" and have it execute CompName.exe.  Supply the number of seconds and the path to the newly injected XML as the command parameters.

Place this action directly after the existing Inject Script action in your template (or any other point after the Inject Script action, but before the system boots to the new image)

 

** In the ZIP file there is a _Demonstrate.bat that runs the tool against a sample Unattend XML file so you can try it out before putting it into LANDesk.

 

Warranty:

None

 

How it works:

 

1 - In WinPE, a Provisioning action launches the tool and waits a configurable number of seconds before moving on.

 

2 - Supply a computer name

3 - Script checks the hostname length and illegal characters

4 - Once validated, script displays old name and new name.

Unattend XML before:

Unattend XML after!

 

 

Application exit codes:

0	Success
2	System cannot find the file specified (Specified Unattend XML does not exist)
13	The data is invalid (Failed to update Unattend XML)
1223	The operation was canceled by the user
10022	An invalid argument was supplied (Command line arguments missing or syntax error)

I'm sorry for asking a noob question here, but I'm a total newbie in using this Ivanti Service Desk.

So, anyway, I'm trying to sum up the value of these two fields and the answer should be displayed on a different field.

 

 

Maintenance Cost + Maintenance Cost GST = Total of Maintenance Cost

Hi,

 

We have a requirement to capture a date and the requirement is, user should not be able to select a date which is older than X hours or days (should be a parameter ) . As an example user should not be able to select a date and time more than 24 hours older.

 

How do I achieve this ?

 

Following "Date Worked" should not be older than 24 hours older date.

I have two Zebra devices MC32N0 with Windows CE7 and MC33 with Android Nougat

 

I am trying to configure the macro as EscOT

 

If I configure the macro on the MC32 with Telnet

 

I can see how it is sending in Wireshark as 033 for Esc and OT

 

If I create in Velocity console as {hex:001B}[16~ or  {hex:001B}OT and I tried lot of combinations I will get it always sent separately like that

Why is it working different on Android is there a way to send it together. I am using the Script from Velocity console

Hello,

 

We have a existing AppSense 8.4 setup as below:

Management server has also Environment server role with Sites created for Personalisation Groups across 2 DataCenters

Another set of Server are as Environment server role and are Personalisation Servers.

The End State Config is setup of the Non-Persistent VDI environment and same msi is installed on the PVS Image.

The config has the Personalisation server as the load balanced server URL of Management servers

The Sites are configured on the Management server with the Membership rules of different Personalisation Groups.

 

We are planning create the Ivanti 10.1 setup as below:

Management server wont have another role

Personalisation server will have the site configured with membership rules of different Personalisation Groups

The End State config would have the Personalisation server as the load balanced server URL of Personalisation servers

 

Kindly let us know if this is how it should be done as the Site Selector servers are no more in use?

Customer is having citrix UPM configured for Xenapp environment running on Windows 2008 R2, as of our solution we are migrating Xenapp applicaitons to Windows 2012 R2 and Windows 2008 R2, and need to migrate profiles from Citrix UPM to AppSense across the operating systems. Hello,

 

I am currently having trouble getting the application personalization working. Right now I only wanted to test the personalization with calc.exe but even that fails.

 

The Windows personalization (imported templates) is working as intended.

 

I checked the membership rules, application groups etc. but all looks right. Clientside the group folder is visible in teh appsensevirtual folder but the settings are not being synced (position and scientific/standard view).

 

Does anyone have some kind of hint where I could start looking for the problem, or have a link to troubleshoot issues like this.

When I try to do a custom task, Windows settings, Manually edit current settings for selected group, Subgroup name, and delete a file or folder it fails? I can however delete the folder above using quick tasks. This is no good as I need to delete the file or folder the file is in for cache clearing tasks. Any idea? No clue in the error in audit:

Source - PersOps

Type - Delete File Fail

Status - Error

Description - Delete file failed for '{CSIDL_APPDATA}\Softgrid Client\JRE8U45.CTX-xxxxxxxx

 

This can be done using the Personalization Analysis tools in EM console.

 

Any ideas? This is using a support user account and also a master admin account.

There is no "scope" or "commandId" defined in Admin Help for accessing Dashboards Using URLs.

How can I generate such an URL to open a specific Dashboard?

Is there any documentation on this yet?

 

I noticed, while we are on 2018.1 there is no documentation on the use of ivanti automation workflow block yet.

Admin help is still 2017.3. The release notes online mention it, with a paragraph description.

 

Am I looking in the wrong place or is there simply no admin help for 2018?

Precondition causing error in WebAccess

Hi,

 

I'm seeing error in WebAccess ticket where it was caused by a precondition.

 

As you can see in the process above, the status "Task In Progress" is connected to the precondition "Current Assigned Group is Within Group".

I think it's causing the following error when analyst/user trying to view the task ticket with the "Task In Progress" status.

 

So when I remove the linkage from status to the precondition, finally user can view the task ticket.(as per image below)

(no error)

 

Here's the precondition calculation which I think has no problem because the same precondition is used somewhere else without any error.

Hey all,

I added the Report Template workspace to the Admin role because having to switch back and forth is frustrating. It seems though that this workspace doesn't want to work from any other role:

 

Any reason for this? I'm not sure I understand why it would be locked down to one role. Any way around this?

Hi,

 

Avalanche has just been installed.

I test connection to web console on http://localhost:8080/AvalancheWeb :

But the web console does not work. Whatever the credentials entered, I have the following message:

NB : You can notice the opening parenthesis on the left with no error details

However, tomcat works well on http://localhost:8080 :

What's wrong ?

When using the send mail task with Sendgrid the task fails with "Unable to read data from the transport connection: net_io_connectionclosed."  (smtp.sengrid.net, port 25 or 587). Any idea what I should do to get this working?

Is there a way in escript to do an action, and then flag to run another action after a restart?  for example I'm looking at uninstalling a product, and then re-installing the product after a restart.  This is needed for a specific product where I need to do a repair, but the only option is to remove and the re-install.

Dear,

 

We use Ivanti Workspace Control (10.2.700.1) and have an issue with the Office suite.

When opening the Word application it will hang on opening the application (notification top right corner).

 

But the application will actually open in the background and the session will hang until we kill the proces.

 

It seems similair with the following issue:

 

Office 2016 applications failing to launch or hanging intermittently

 

Only this is for a different product. We reset the user profiles but that didn't matter.

We have recently installed Ivanti EPM 2017.3.  (I have not got as far as installing any SU's yest)

 

We have begun to roll out new Windows 10 PC's along side our current Windows 7 PC's and all devices have now had a new agent built from the new EPM 2017.3 server installed.

 

Pretty much everything seems to be working fine but if we right clikc a Windows 7 device in the console and select Inspect the window states that real time moitoring is not enabled.  I can see in the agent though that it is.

 

This is the same agent on the Windows 10 PC's and Inspect works fine on those.

 

Inspect worked on the Windows 7 PC's before we upgraded to 2017.3 from 2016.3 so I am unsure why this would stop working now.

 

The only thing that has changed is the new server and the new agnet on all the PC's.

 

Anyone any thoughts why itwould pick on Windows 7 PC's?

Just upgraded to 2017.3 from 2016.3, Pushed out new agents, most have had EPS added to the config. Most of these users are being asked for administrator credentials on every boot.

 

Is there a way to fix this? Will we need to redeploy the agent?
