Need Info to deploy WIN10 OS via UEFI

Hi,

 

Am n process of creating new Windows 10 OS image on DSM 2017.

Until now we are using Legacy BIOS on our machines and OSD was working fine.

 

Now want to deploy OS using UEFI , as some new gen machines doesnot have legacy BIOS option.

 

So to deploy win10 via UEFI, what needs to be done?

   in DSM OS package?
    in WIN PE package?

 

 

2) Also I have an issue with my current WINPE related to time zone.

    OS deployment fails if the BIOS time is different than the BLS.

    How to remove the timezone dependency in WINPE

Quick action based on subject line of email

hi!
we currently have 1 email listener setup and everything is working on that.

Email comes in, reply goes out with incident number, incident is created and assigned to the service desk.

 

I have a vendor that we are working with that is going to be sending in emails to notify us of issues they have responded to.  I am wonder if there is any way to setup a quick action or something to say the following

 

1. if the email subject contains "Vendor name"

2. Route incident to this "Event Support Team"

Filter request view using user type

Hi,

 

I am wondering if it is possible to filter a template (show/hide) using what type of user is accessing the request.

 

I already have various filters on the request which shows/hides depending on the title, however my idea was to hide fields that only the Analysts should be able to see or fill in.

 

If it's not possible to hide it, could it be possible to write protect them until the form has been saved?

 

I am using 2017.1

Create folder with distribution package for IOS

Hello,

 

We have configured a distribution package to deploy office applications on some Apple IOS Iphone.

Now when launching the task, we would like these applications to be grouped together in a single folder on the Iphone screen.
The task must therefore install applications on the mobile and create a folder and add icons in the new folder.

 

Is it possible?

Managing Configuration on QLn420

Hey all-

We have been using Avalanche Site Edition for years to manage our scanners (Honeywell CK3B and CK3X). We are using Site Edition 5.3. An upgrade to 6.2.2 is planned for 1Q 2019.

We are looking to add management capabilities for our Zebra QLn420 mobile printers with Avalanche.

I have been able to use the Zebra Setup Utilities to push a wireless config and the netmanage config so my printers are now in Avalanche.

 

My Config to connect the Zebra QLn420 to Avalanche:

A few notes/questions:

1) My printers are nearly continuously cycling with "Performong update. Please wait." and "Avalanche Update Complete." I assume it's a configuration element; and I believe it would be "Interval". Can anyone confirm? And is this number milliseconds?

2) Am I able up push firmware updates via Avalanche? Currently this is done via the Zebra Firmware Downloader and ZBI Key Manager. I'd like to have this managed centrally.

3) Am I able to push label configuration via Avalanche? We adjust some of the configuration, like Media.Sense_Mode and ZPL.Left_Position. These have always been pushed from the Setup Utils, but I'd like to move these into Avalanche. This will be especially useful for repairs.

calculation for bolean not working

I've been working on a calculation so that certain attributes only shown when the tick box has been selected. The calculation works and does exactly what I want it to do but I now need to introduce a second tick box called "Lync Request". I have copied in my current calculation that works but I'm uncertain how I start the next part of as it refuses "elif".

Has anyone come across this error or know what is causing it?

 

Our servers are set up exactly the same for production as in uat in Ivanti Email Configuration -- however, production gives this error while uat does not. Our production environment has been confirmed working previously but now this error occurs.

Does advanced setting 'used cached user context if...' eliminate the 'advanced detection of connection state' check?

I have the option enabled to 'used cached user context if latency to AD is above 6 MS'.

I just recently added an 'advanced detection of connection state' check to smooth out things for offline users.

 

My test user experiences higher latency so they end up utilizing the cached user context. It seems that this is causing the 'advanced detection of the connection state' to not run, I do not see it in the event logs, they indicate the system is online based on IP.

 

I can see that the user has received membership in the zone that should be checked for connection state, so is the user being 'online' the result of the cached context indicating the user is online?


When I add a lower or upper bound constraint to a date, the result includes weekends.

We use a Weekly HOP for everything which is only M-F.  Is there a way to make it so the weekends are not included?  An example is we don't want a certain Service Request to allow the customer to give a required date within 3 days.  I'm sure there is a long expression that could be written but I'm not understanding why it's not looking at the HOP.  Or perhaps there is a setting somewhere else I need to change?

How to add / create a new attribute in the bo "response level"

Hi,

 

I'm setting up a multi language Service Desk for a customer and have to translate ref and sorted lists.

For those lists I'm using the template function for WebDesk on the window itself.

 

To use the template function I always have to create a Title EN, Title DE etc. attribute on the business object.

 

Does someone know how to create a new attribute on the business object "response level" in the "Lifecycle" domain?!

Replicator Stops reporting

We have random issues where the replicator stops reporting after so long.  Than it works other times.

 

We have tried to reinstall agent on client no correct.

Hi everyone, I have updated our SYS environment to FR4 to test the new features and see how it fits with our 2016 & WIN10 setup, which leads me to my question:

 

Apparently FTA for Windows 10 has been applied to this version, where do I find this to configure it?

Uninstalling Avalanche

I have a Symbol 9200 scanner running Windows CE.  How to I completely uninstall Avalanche from this device?  I have looked in "Remove Programs" in Control Panel and it is not listed.  I have also done a factory reset on the device and it still remains.  There is no "uninstall" icon in the Programs folder. 

 

I would appreciate any suggestions anyone could give me.

Remove Kaspersky AV Engine and Install New Bitdefender AV

I am trying to come up with a way to do the following in either a bundle or sequential steps:

 

1. Remove old LD Antivirus (Kaspersky Engine)

2. Install new agent (current endpoints have a 2017.3 SU3 agent build installed, need to upgrade to 2018.1)

3. Install new ivanti AV 2017 (Bitdefender Engine)

 

2 and 3 can be flipped around and a reinstall of the agent isn't absolutely necessary but would be convenient to get it all done at once. I'm not terribly concerned with bandwidth, so if part of the solution is to copy over the entire standalone agent, that can be done. To my understanding from many articles and ivanti support reps, the AV component must be done in 2 steps. I'm not convinced this is case.... I mean, come on, our entire job consists of automation! haha!

 

I can't build a bundle to do this because the removal and addition of the components are not packages, which also means I can't run this as a provisioning template. Scheduling groups of tasks was removed in a previous version of ivanit/LANDesk. I'm sure I can dig up the info on how to run a CLI to uninstall KAV (then I could create a tiny script) but then I'm stumped on the BD AV install. 

 

All ideas are welcome- I'm stumped. I can do this in multiple steps but having a single task run is the route I'm looking for.

Saved search: new relationship is not visible in filter

Again with the problem filters. Added a new relationship (1: 0..N) to the BO Announcement, and it is not visible in the filter.
I tried to clear the cache and restart the service, nothing helps. And still should be in the list of positions "is Raleted to". Why is not it here?12.jpg


Unable to Access Reports in STG

Using 2017.3.1 On Premises

 

Hi,

I'm trying to access reporting a new(ish) setup but just get the message "Application failed to contact Report Server.Please contact Administrator".

This is only happening in the stg landscape, the production one works OK.

 

Can anybody point me in the right direction at what I should be looking for to fix this?

Automate Task and Request Closure

I have managed to automate User Creation in AD, it goes in, does its thing, and then closes the task. However, the request doesnt move on once the task is completed. I have a precondition that checks if all tasks are at an end state, but its like it doesnt run when the task is closed by the system. If I then go in and modify the request or add a task and then close it, then the request moves on, so I know the precondition works.

 

Anyone ever done this and knows how to make it work?

 

If there was a way to modify the request from the task then maybe it would work, but I havent found it. My alternative right now is having a scheduled task go in and modify the request, but if I can do it without that it will be much cleaner,

Custom Vulnerability to Find and Remove AppX packages on Windows 10 - Good or Bad idea?

I've been trying to find a way to remove unwanted AppX packages from our Windows 10 devices.  This has become a problem after our Branch upgrade to 1709.  Until now, we just removed the unwanted packages during imaging.

IEM doesn't really inventory AppX packages, so I've been looking for a good way to find and remove the unwanted apps.

 

Side note, I've put in a feature request to inventory AppX packages.  Please vote on it

 

Originally I tried to have a query find the packages but the only way was to comb through the Package Path data.  These queries ended up being so time consuming that they just didn't work when using them with a task.  The next idea I've had is to write a custom patch to detect and remove.  So far, it looks like it's working very well.  I have one master patch with one Rule per AppX package.  I've exported it and hopefully I can attach it to this post.

 

The only thing I'm not sure about is the detection logic that checks to see if the patch has been installed.  Since my logic for detecting if the patch is needed is a custom script, I don't really know how to do this.  The only options are reg or file detection.  Neither of these will work.  The patch does work, but I want to make sure that not having the patch installation detection logic won't bite me later.

 

Also, I hope others will find this useful.  As a work-around, we're blocking the apps with AppLocker in Group Policy. However, we'd still like these apps removed.

ResolvedDateTime field is not showing the seconds

Hello everyone Im having a problem with my ResolvedDateTime field not showing the seconds as the ClosedDateTime and the CreatedDateTime does.

Here is a example and as you can see the resolved time can´t be 19:17:00 if the created time was 19:17:39

Does anyone knows why is this happening and how to fix it?
