Can't view record with public ownership

Hi all,

I have got our vendor to upgrade our goldmine 7 to latest goldmine version 2018.

After getting the previous database MySQL 2005 migrated to mysql2016, all the contact record has changed to (public) in the ownership and  only the administrator is able

to see the record.

We created new group and users and starting to assign the user to the group and found that no users is able to view the record.  I suspect something may be hidden unknown to us

after this migration.

 

I hope support or expert users is able to give some pointer how to resolve this issue.

Are the fields presented in the Webimport wizard the only fields available that can be mapped with a webimport script?

 

Is there a developer's guide available for WebImport so that scripts can be created offline and not using the wizard?

Selection Criteria for Smart Devices

We are using Avalanche 6.2.0.602 to manage Windows CE, Mobile, and Windows 10 devices. Now we have started adding TC8000s and ET50s Android devices for our warehouse management systems.

 

We are I am trying to split up smart devices under different payloads for different accounts in our building. The selection criteria does not have as many options as there are for the Windows CE and Mobile devices. I am trying to fully understand how avalanche decides who gets what payload. Our company is broken up by the site in Avalanche. So we enroll a smart device per location. I have created a couple of payloads under a location and need to create several more, but some of the devices are getting both and some are getting only one like it should.

 

I am using Model Name = TC8000 for one and IP = 10.172.21.185 - 200 for the other.

 

I know I need to add to the one with the model name the remainder of the IP addresses at that location to keep them from getting that payload.

 

However, I can not find detailed documentation on this. My problem is when I try to ad the remainder of the IP addresses at this location in the selection criteria wizard I can validate it.

 

When I click show devices it also shows my Windows devices. This location has multiple customers with multiple setups. Most of the devices were set up in the past and are on DHCP. I am making DHCP reservations going forward to group the devices. There are currently too many devices on DHCP to divide up the windows devices from the rest.

 

I am guessing that if a windows device downloads android files it will just ignore it. I want to confirm this because I can't risk messing up any of the Windows devices or causing downtime in the facility.

change default activity type for scheduled/unscheduled call?

I'd like to try and make things really simple (ie fast) for our sales people.

 

At the moment if you complete a "scheduled call" then the activity type is "call back".

Unscheduled - outgoing - is "call out"

Unscheduled - incoming - is "call in"

 

For us logically it makes more sense that a scheduled call is marked as "call out". So we ask Sales to update that field. That's a lot of clicks when you're making 100's of calls from 100's of sales people!

 

Is it possible to change the default activity type for these actions?

Reporting on patches Replaced By & Replaces in Xtraction

Hello,

 

In Security and Compliance...Patch and compliance, if I highlight 'All types (all items), I have the ability to find patches by specific criteria.

 

An example of what I am doing is in the Find box enter '2018-8161' and change the 'In column' to CVE ID. (change the column or the query will run awhile)

Currently it gives me 9 rows and I have multiple columns shown.

The columns I am especially interested in are 'Replaced By' and 'Replaces'.

 

The majority of the fields available are contained in the Vulnerability table in the DB.

'Replaced By' and 'Replaces' are not though.

 

I have been looking for foreign keys to other tables that may point to what I need.

I have also looked at dozens of tables to see if I can work backwards looking for that patch.

 

I have yet to be able to find where those fields come from.

 

Any ideas?

Hello, everybody,

 

I have another question. In the service request there is the tab "Cost item".

Where is it controlled whether a cost element is created here? - I could not find anything suitable in the business rules in the service request.

 

I would also like to know whether I can use the workflow to influence the creation of additional cost items.

The problem is that we use different forms (checkbox, dropdown) in a request offering and a cost item is not created for all selected elements.

However, this is absolutely essential for us, as we also want to evaluate what was ordered via a service request.

 

I'd be happy if someone can help.

Hello everybody,

 

we are experiencing some issue about Portal Manager. We deliver to our users link and programs to launch thru Portal Manager. We associated this links to some scopes that are created from queries. These queries are based on AD groups. The problem is often some icons in the Portal Manager are missing, then appear again after minutes. It's not steady. In the task the client is associated and delivered (green) but the user can't show it. Is there a best practice. Maybe some alternative. This system is not working so well... and it's important for our complany. The core is Ivanti 2017.3 Thanks.

When I add raw html to a html editor control, it appears to be functional (and css works) but when saving, the css and script elements are stripped

 

Can anyone advise - Is this by design?

How to send an email when we have patch inside "Unassigned" tab ?

Hello,

 

We would like send an email to our patch manager when EPM download new patch and when they are inside "Unassigned" tab.

 

We use "Definition download" rules for lot of product or editor but sometimes we have patch without rules and they are moved to "Unassigned" tab.

 

We want to send an email when this tab have patch. When our patch manager receive the mail, it can go inside EPM and move the patch on the good folder/rollout project.

Assigning incidents to a team in Service Manager

My company is transitioning from Service Desk to Service Manager. Our current assignment process allows us to assign to the entire support group or to analyst. The support group field is mandatory but the analyst field is not. I would like to setup the same process in Service Manager. I have created a new status labeled Waiting for Owner Assignment. The status would only require a selection of a team and not an owner for the assignment process. The status I following the rule Required Rule for Incident.OwnerTeam (Default) and making the selection of team and owner fields required. I am needing to know if it would be best to created a new required rule for this status or add an exception to the current rule. As I am new to this application I am unsure which option would correct or how to make this change. Thank you for your help on this issue.

Capturing website shortcuts pinned to Start Menu using IE's "Add site to Apps"

We are in the process of rolling out XenApp 7.15 LTSR shared desktops running 2012 R2. We've had the request from one of our testers to have website shortcuts added to her Start Menu using IE's "Add site to Apps" option be captured and saved. It appears as though these are simply saved as .website files in "%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\" so I added that to our existing User Settings capture for 8.1 Start Menu layout (see attached) but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. We are on running 10.2.700.1 for console and agents but none of the release notes for newer versions mention this. Am I missing something?

Rapid Reports

I know Rapid Reports are coming soon, but those that have it in their staging environments, Have you figured out how to change the columns?

 

Here is the copy of the default template that I want to modify

 

 

I want to use some of the custom options we have added to our Incidents, for example, I want to see the Resolved Date instead of modified, but I don't seem to have that data list

 

Our DB admin is off this week, so I thought I would ask here and see if anyone has played with this.

We have several search queries on LANDesk Service Desk 2016.4 which have prompts to enter the Id into.

 

Since our ref numbers have gone over 1,000,000 the whole of the number will not show.  How can I make my query prompts wider?

Request Offering Save Before Submit

I'm looking at creating a new process.  I'm thinking I'll have a Request Offering form that may need to be filled in by a couple of different persons - at different times in the process.  I'd like to have one form that keeps all information, but may need to have different persons fill it in.  I know I can submit a RO and edit it using the Service Request/Parameters/Edit tab, but I don't want to have a non-technical user use this interface.  Rather, I'd like to have the process email the person, that needs to fill in additional information, a link to the RO form and have them use that interface to add the info.  Is this possible?

HTML fields - Set default font?

How does one systematically set the default font for html boxes on forms?

 

The forms use Arial, but the html fields all default to Times Roman even with no actual font selected.

 

Content with two different fonts does not look good. We would like to set this system wide and manually change only when needed.

How Do I Scan 'Switches' On Our Network With LANDesk EPM?

Hi All.

 

As the question suggests, how do I scan all the switches (mostly cisco) on our network and have them show up in asset control?

 

FYI we have a license for Data Analytics so thats not the problem but I would like to know how to set up a scan for the switches in general?

 

Our console is version 2017.3 SU4
