send email from service workflow

In the service request, I see there is an option to send a notification and opens an email template.

 

 

I was able to figure out the send from and how to populate the send to, however... it doesn't look like it actually sends.

 

I can see in the audit log it shows it was sent, but it was never received.

 

Has anyone had success with this?

 

We have a paper form that we want to make digital, but part of it has to be kept for the users records.


TaskhandlerProxy.exe constantly crashing

Hello everyone!

 

I am relativ new on Invanti UEM am I am trying to provision a client for some tests.

I have done that already successfully on our Testserver, but it fails permanently on our live system.

 

Everytime I boot up into WinPE, I log in with my admin account and select my public template (which is an exact copy from the test core server).

But as soon as WinPE starts to look for the template, I can see the taskhandlerproxy.exe crashing on the core server. This is reproduceable,

I have already followed procedures from here: Issue: Provisioning task failing after try 40 of 40

But nothing helps. The posted workaround does also say, that there would be a taskhandlerproxy.exe.log file. But that logfile isn't even being generated on

my live system.

 

I have check differences in setup on both cores but haven't find any, except for OS, which is 2012 R2 on the test core and 2016 on live core.

 

Anyone got an idea what else I could check or do?

Ignoring escape characters in Telnet

Is there a way that we can tell a scangun not to read the escape characters in a barcode through Wavelink Telnet?

 

I’ve found the option in Datawedge [Datawedge is interpreting that \1 as an escape character.  Go into "Basic configuration/Keystroke output" and uncheck "Allow Escape chars"].   But can’t seem to find the matching setting in Telnet.  Is this possible?

 

Using the Zebra MC92N0 for this.

Configuring Knowledge articles in multi tenant system

We would like to be able to search Knowledge articles across different tenant instances.

I've considered Universal Worklist option, but that only shows a dashboard of the Knowledge Objects from different tenants. However my question is whether the end users will be able to search for this Knowledge content across different tenants?

Has anyone implemented this and what approach was considered?

Error: ISM Reporting Feature configuration Issues

Hi,

I have facing 2 errors

 

1) ISM install successfully but when i Configuring the Reporting Feature that time didn't show 2 menu

          a) Microsoft SSRS Configuration.

          b) Reporting Service Configuration.

 

2) Login problem

How do I run a saved search/query to pull out a Service, it's categories and sub categories in IT Service Manager?

Is there a auto reconnect setting in Velocity - Endless loop problem?

Hi, I have just started using Zebra TC8000 with Velocity in our warehouse and we are seeing some issues with the RF gun getting into a endless loop when the operator try to wake up the device

when the gun is ldle under than 10 min  and it also happened a few times during sign in.   User has to exit Velocity and then activate the Velocity to sign back in and it work.  

 

We do not seem to have this problem with the old Window CE RF gun . 


Is there some reconnect setting or retry on loss setting that is on Velocity that we can try change or is this a hardware setting on the device ?

 

 

 

Copy category from triage (call domain) to incident or request

Hi guys,

 

Once again, thanks for the help in advance.

I'm using the call domain to create a new triage workflow, where the service desk analyst can create a request or an incident after. Because we use the same categories on both, I would like to copy the triage category to incident or request on creation.

Any idea how can I achieve this?

 

The idea is to open the triage ticket - and on raise request (example) I can choose the category where it will fit and save. From there the request gets assigned to Service Desk for further actions

Agent upgrade corrupt from 2017.3 to 2018.1

I have upgraded med core server from 2017.3 to 2018.1.

Everything works perfect except Agent upgrade on my clients.

 

The method i have tried:

 

1. Push out agent from console - agent is upgraded but loosing connection (common base agent status: not loaded)

2. Manually installed agent on client - agent is upgraded but loosing connection (common base agent status: not loaded)

3. Manually uninstalled agent, rebooted, install new agent - loosing connection (common base agent status: not loaded)

5. Manulaly uninstalled agent with switch /FORCECLEAN, NO reboot, installs new agent - loosing connection (common base agent status: not loaded)

4. Manually uninstalled agent with switch /FORCECLEAN, rebooted, install new agent - WORKS!

 

But i cant reinstall agents manually on all computers....

The best would be if i can uninstall the agent WITHOUT rebooting and then install the new agent and not loosing contact with CORE.

 

Any ideas? Anyone who had the same problem?

I'm looking to set the Category.FullName with a text string via a calculation, as I'm getting the equivalent of the FullName from another source.

 

import System

static def GetAttributeValue(Request):

     CAT = Request._DOC5600Category

     Value = ????????

     return Value

 

CAT is a string.

Value calculation using CAT is what I'm looking for.

 

The GetNamedObject will return the Named attribute, but I need the FullName.

I have a user trying to run a Crystal Report on a shared drive via Manage Reports menu. Which yields this error

 

     Heat Help Desk: Error opening Crystal Reports report message <filepath>

 

It looks like a file access problem, but I am not sure what user is trying to access the directory as we do not use unified network logins.
What user does the HHD use to access the report as when configured for stand alone Username/Passwords?

 

Other users successfully run this and other reports on this shared drive

Where should I add fields to an Extended Group Business Objects?

 

I need to add some fields to CI#Service and I haven't really modified a Group object with Extensions before.

 

First case i have is to add a field to allow me to limit which services show in different modules i.e. Incident, Problem, Change.

My thought is to add columns named by module and constrain the picklists, but the extended object complicates thes

 

  • How do I determine where the derived fields come from in Extended Group Business Objects?
  • What deteremineswhen the new fields should go in the Group Object or the Extension?

How can I display text to an approver in an approval request but not in the service request itself?

I want to display text to a service request approver that appears only in the approval request, for a specific service request template.

Ideally this would be only until the request has been approved.

 

A colleague suggested I use a visible expression so it only appears after the SR has been submitted, using the recid but that doesn't work as it always displays:

[parent.]RecID != ""

 

I tried also where the logged in user is the same as the approver, but if the approver is also the requestor it displays before the SR has been submitted:

CurrentLoginId() == Authoriser_SSO

 

Any ideas please?

HII Driver Assigment

Hi,

I would like to share my recent experience that I had with HII Driver Assignment.

We are using Management Suite v.2017.3 in a mix of diffrent hardware, 99% HP machines and we started working on WIndows 10 upgrade.

The HII Driver Management give us the most trouble on the upgrade process, with a special mention the Intel video drivers not been installed, even that have been assigned.

I'm aware that many users came accross about this situation.

The main issue is that the .config files are not downloaded and the driver is unable to be installed and the Basic Display Adapter driver is used instead.

The fix is extremly simple.

Check the MIME Types in the IIS Manager and make sure the "*" is added as MIME Type - "application/octet-stream".

Also make sure the .config extension is allowed on the Request FIltering image11.pngimage10.PNG

After making this changes, restart the IIS in order to apply the changes.

 

The fastest way to indentify the correct driver, in the Search Drivers tab, type the Device ID and the HII Assign will list the available drivers.

In case the driver is not found, you can download the correct driver form the manufacturer website and copy it in the driver library. Rebuild the library and the driver package will display in the search.

 

I hop this will help who ever has this issue and spare from the pain looking for a solution.

 

The support was unable to spot this issue for the last almost 4 weeks.

Calculation of SLA Compliance "Actual" Value

Does anyone have any information on the actual formula used to calculate the Actual SLA Compliance Target?

 

Example:

We have an SLP defined with the following:

  • SLP Target = 90.00%
  • ResponseSLT = 95.00% within this SLP
  • ResolutionSLT = 95.00% within this SLP
  • DeliverySLT = 95.00% within this SLP

 

Let's say we had 100 Incidents resolved and 200 SRs fulfilled since the Start Date of the SLP.

  • 95 of 100 Incidents met their ResponseSLT
  • 75 of 100 Incidents met their ResolutionSLT
  • 170 of 200 SRs met their DeliverySLT

 

I am guessing here, but I imagine the formula would be something like:

((95+75+170) / (100+100+200)) * 100 = 85.00%

Package installation at startup/shutdown

Hello everyone,

 

is there any way to distribute packages at startup or shutdown on the client in version 2017.3?

 

I'm currently facing this problem:

 

We have an Outlook Add-in which needs to get uninstalled before I'm able to install a newer version of the add-in. We are talking about 300+ clients.

While running the classic uninstaller without Ivanti, there pops up the notice that Outlook needs to be closed while uninstalling. In Ivanti this prombt

crashes the distribution and the task runs into an error. So I build a small PowerShell script with the command line Kill -Name OUTLOOK -Force -EA SilentlyContinue in it. I put this script

in the dependent packages into the uninstaller package. This works well. I start the task and Outlook shuts down.

 

But I think it's very annoying for our users when I shut down their Outlook session while working time. And I'm not sure how long the uninstall takes for 300+ clients.

 

That's why I want to know if there is any way to distribute the uninstaller while booting oder shutting down. It is very important that the uninstaller runs before Outlook starts up.

Hallo in die Runde,

 

nach vielen Jahren der Nutzung deutscher Versionen von LANDesk/Ivanti Management Console wurde die neueste Version englisch installiert.

Sehr hilfreich für die Übersicht in der "Patch and Compliance "Übersicht ist das Sortieren nach Veröffentlichungsdatum.

In der englischen Version ist die Datums-Angabe dd/mm/jjjj --> er sortiert als nach dem Tag im Datumsfeld des Erscheinens.(1/3/2018 steht in der Liste also weiter oben als 3/8/2014)

Das ist ziemlich unpraktisch.

Wie kann ich das Datums-Format umstellen, damit wieder nach dem tatsächlichen Erscheinungsdatum sortiert werden kann?
