Blank start menu Windows 2012 R2 (capture, no roaming profiles)
Hi,
I have a problem with our customers environment.
They are running on Windows 2012 R2 terminal servers and Ivanti Workspace Control 10.3.0.0.
They don't use roaming profiles and capture their start menu tiles with:
File > %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Windows\appsFolder.itemdata-ms
File > %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Windows\appsFolder.itemdata-ms.bak
When users log in their start menu is empty untill they get a workspace refresh, after that they get their tiles back.
It's already on option Load on session start, not on load in background.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Device Nicknames?
Is it possible to create Device Nicknames and add that as a column in when viewing all devices?
Our devices are all named for their company inventory tag number so sorting by device name can be confusing. The Owner value usually shows the user name, but some of them display the Admin username (I think this is because I installed the agent manually using the Admin account) and some of them don't have anything in the field at all.
Is it possible to set a Device Nickname and be able to sort/search the devices using the assigned nickname?

how to upgrade 10.0 to 2018.1
I am trying to upgrade appsense environment manager and personalization from 10.0 to 2018.1. I can't seem to locate a document that details the steps. I attempted to simply install 2018.1 I can't really tell if that worked, now it is telling me I don't have rights. I can restore the DBs and Vms and start over easily enough if I can find the correct procedure to make this work.

Forcing provisioning to create a GPT
With the newest model of Dell laptop (Precision 7730) we have been having a bear of a time getting provisioning working, in part because the 32 bit Dell NIC drivers do not work if we use the legacy PXE boot option (which Dell has been zero help in). To get around this, we are UEFI booting off a thumbdrive that has the boot.wim on it. This works great, until the computer reboots, planning to go into Windows. At this point, there is no Windows Boot manager, and we have no way to boot into the Windows installation we just put on the machine. It seems the problem is because the provisioning job is creating an MBR instead of a GPT. We are using the automatic "create partition" action, which says it will use GPT if it sees we are in UEFI, but it only ever uses MBR instead.
My question is, is there a way to force the job to use GPT instead of MBR? If not, how do manually set up the GPT configuration?
Alternatively, if anyone knows what can use for a NIC driver to get legacy boot to work on these Dell Precision 7730's, I would be happy with that as well (legacy boot works fine on our other Dell laptops and desktops). We are using the latest 32bit Dell WinPE driver pack.

Does Landesk have functionality like SCCM's DCM?
This is importnat to create a baseline of what you want your servers or desktops to look like, so after the provisioning you can ensure all the right tools etc are installed and on the right version. There are a couple other ways to manage some of this through the software monitoring side but that doesn't fully address things like making sure everyone is the same office type, has various tools like procmon or whatever we need etc.

How can I send someone a link to a saved search in HEAT?
I created a saved search.
I want to share it with coworkers by sending them a link, and them being taken directly to the search results.
How do I do this? I can't get the URL from my browser since it doesn't contain any GUID or identifier https://clientlink.saasit.com/Default.aspx#1538070627744 ... when I send that link to others it doesn't take them to the search results).

Question on port 1433 used for SQL
I was wondering if anyone can tell me what information is passed over port 1433 from a console to the core when making SQL requests? our Systems and Security team will not allow us to have the console on our systems from our office so we have to navigate via RDP to a system in the data center.
The concern is port 1433 is not encrypted and usernames and passwords to the SQL database is flowing over that port and can easily be compromised.
I found the following document but cant seem to see if any username / password is passed along from the console to the core?
We are running 2018.1 Ivanti EPM at the moment.
If anyone can provide or point me to documentation, it would be greatly appreciated.

BridgeIT Query Sort after Group By has been applied
Hey ServiceDesk Pals,
Within "Query and Report Designer" is there a way to sort a query when the query is "Grouped by" in Bridge IT?
For Example this is what is occurring:

If you click on one of the Group By attributes you received an unsorted query even though in "Console" the Created Date is sorted to descending:
However what I do want is this once the attribute has been selected upon.
Is this possible?

Computer Naming Template Help
Hoping someone can make this simple for me. We are looking at Upgrading a few thousand computers OSs and I don't want to have to have a technician there to type in the name, but the OS Version is part of the naming convention as is the machine type.
Our Naming convention is a two digit site code, OS Version Code, Computer Type, Asset Tag Number. i.e. 02WTD12345 would be Site 02 Windows Ten Desktop Asset Tag 12345
So down to the questions...
1) What do I have to do in the provisioning template to have it change the Site Code based on the Network the computer is being imaged on? i.e.. Site 02 IP = 02 in the computer name
2) Insert WTD in the Name for Windows 10 Images on desktops, WTL for laptops
3) What Naming Template Magic can I use to trim off all but the last 5 Digits of the Computer Name and then reuse them as the end of the new computer name

Agent Health Questions
I never really used agent health in the past and have started looking into again today. Some things confuse me about it. It seems there are three pieces to it and I'm not fully understanding how they all connect. You have a bootstrap task, an agent setting (which isn't even part of agent config), and patch manager definitions (which are much smaller in number compared to the amount of repair items in the agent settings).
Do we really have to manually run a change settings against all agents to use agent health or does the default agent health setting come into play? I couldn't find evidence of this in the registry. Having to deploy an agent AND run a change settings task seems odd to me.
How do the agent health patch definitions relate to the actual agent settings?
What happens if you use one without the other?
Some of the definitions reference specific file versions. I just updated to SU5, but have not updated most agents yet. Would these definitions start replacing files on those updated agents?
What part is the bootstrap task working in conjunction with? It looks like it just kicks off a vulscan for type 3 which would lead me to believe it works with the definitions.

Run Powershell commands HIDDEN
I created a powershell package. It's called printers.ps1
This script needs to run as the current user. So I select run as current user.
When running the script the powershell window appears while the user is using it.
It would be nice if LANDesk incorporated the -WindowStyle switch into the powershell package creation so I can run the script at least minimized.
Now I'm going to create a batch to run a powershell command hidden. Very frustrating.

Start/Stop Avalanche Services (Order)
Pardon my ignorance on this topic but I am looking to create a batch file to be run once a week to stop and start Avalanche services as a maintenance exercise. I know how to write the script but what I am not familiar with is the order in which I should stop and then start (assuming this is reverse of the stop) the services. Or does it not matter?

Breach Clock Blanks Out When Response Level Changes
Hello -
Were using Service Desk 2018.1 and when we manually change the response level of a ticket the breach clock goes blank. The SLA color tab will stay whatever color it was before and there is no longer a working clock. The Breach time will just blank out and the ticket will never breach.
Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas?

Can a visual expression in a request offering be based on the total cost
We are trying to create a request offering that only shows certain fields if there is a total cost more then $0 as there are certain items that have no cost. Is this possible?
We have been able to do this for the price of a field but would like to broaden this so we can use one request for multiple type of items.

SQL Import not running on schedule or importing manually. "Null value set for attribute Title" error
I've setup a new import from our SolarWinds Orion database for Router and Switch information. The Data Connector points to a view created in the SolarWinds database with the information needed to be imported into Service Desk.
The problems I have is that the import schedule doesn't appear to run on the daily schedule as the Last Run Information isn't updated and there are no entries in the log file. The second problem is that when the import is ran manually I get errors in the log file " Null value set for attribute Title of class type Config._Router. This attribute is mandatory and must contain a non-null value." even though the title attrib is mapped to a field in the source database. The source attribute does have data in it, I've also tried with different source attributes as well as converting the data to a short length but still get the same error. We do have other SQL imports running ok so not sure why this is causing issues.

Ivanti Workspace Licensing
I'm wondering what licenses and how many licenses I need when I want to use a Ivanti Workspace Agent on a desktop/laptop and also giving that same user acces to a RDS server farm for legacy apps. We do have an amount of Ivanti Workspace licenses bu do I also need licenses for the RDS server farm?
