Remove the "Data in the database has changed while you were editing" verbiage from validation rule pop-up

We're using an ISM Cloud implementation and I'm working on a Validation Rule for the Incident BO. The rule seems to be behaving as expected and I'm seeing the message text listed in the Validation Rule appear in the information pop-up window. However, I'm also getting the generic "Data in the database has changed while you were editing" text at the bottom of the window. Is it possible to get rid of this verbiage?


APM hat wohl ein Problem mit FileZilla

Hallo,

 

seit dem wir wieder von PL auf APM umgestiegen sind bekommen wir keine FileZilla Updates mehr. Es kommt zwar im Catalog und das Grundpaket wird erstellt, aber das Patch wird nicht geladen und somit keine Policy erstellt usw.

 

Bei Shavlik habe ich das gefunden und könnte mir das als Ursache vorstellen https://community.shavlik.com/docs/DOC-24607  (Da sieht man den Unterschied zu PL, die soweit ich es ja verstanden habe, Patches selber packt, während APM original Dateien benutzt.

 

In dem Dokument oben wird dieser Link angegeben https://community.shavlik.com/docs/DOC-24407 welches beschreibt, wie man Patches manuell (in Shavlik for Windows) einbaut. Frage ist wie macht man das in APM?

 

Werde das trotzdem als BUG melden, das sowas von APM gefixt werden bzw. umgangen werden muss.

Data Translation Services

I have no idea how this feature works or what it's for.  I read https://help.ivanti.com/ld/help/en_US/LDDA/10.0/Content/DA/ldda-t-data-translation-services.htm

 

"Data Translation Services (DTS) is a Data Analytics tool for Ivanti® Management Suite that scans your organization's devices for the inventory data you most care about, such as software licensing, warranties, and so on. Once the data is scanned into the inventory database, you can customize, aggregate, and organize it in reports to make informed and practical decisions about hardware and software purchases and needs."

 

Ok, sounds great.  So how to I use it?

 

When I go to the data translation services to find details about how these are being generated, it's all empty folder structures.  I did "green light" the thing.

 

Does this affect client user/local device CPU processing?  Meaning, will the user see a performance hit from enabling it?

 

 

My whole goal here is to populate things like the "owner email" fields in the database.  These have never been populated for us and we have always been deriving the data from logon user names.

The following error messages were pulled out of the clients vulscan.log when attempting to patch Office 365.  I followed the document and have the patches in the folder specified.  I can browse to the patch folder in a web browser and see the files on the client.

When user double-clicks on field label in Primary Fields View, Contact Search Center opens to incorrect field

When a user double-clicks on the label for the KEY5 field in the Primary Fields View, the Contact Search Center opens for the Company field in the 'Search by' dropdown.  The text field is not populated at all.  I've attempted to add another KEY5 field to the view, and it's behavior is the same as the existing KEY5 field.

 

Has anyone experienced this issue before with the CSC?

Hi, I have a working remote site installations on two PC's both running Win 10. However the installation on my server (Win Server 2008 R2) has for no apparent reason stopped allowing logins. This means the remote sync is failing to connect. There's a silent login startup script on the server that is presumably failing because if I try to log in manually I get a dialog saying "Could not login into GoldMine Incorrect Password!".

SQL Server Management Studio can connect to the database so that's not the problem. I've tried copying the GM directory to a backup directory, then uninstalling GM and re-installing from the setup.exe but even then I get the same dialog, regardless of whether I use MASTER and the default pwd or whether I use my own username and password.

I have an up to date copy of the database on one of the remote machines that is working fine. What's the best way to get the server install back up and running and synced so it has the same data that is currently on the remote?

2018.3 Portal Manager Logo publishing

Hey Folks!

 

I just wanted to drop this here for anyone else that may run into similar issues.  In a nutshell, uploading logos in portal manager would only sometimes sync to our clients...it typically resulted in a blank logo.  I know that the recommended file type is .png, but I haven't found any relevant information regarding file size (which doesn't matter, as I've discovered). 

 

Resolution:  If you pre-populate the logo on the core in x:\Ivanti\LdMain\landesk\files\SWDPolicyImages, *then* upload the logo image via distribution package (use the same name, file type) - you can safely trick the core into properly accepting the image, then syncing to the clients.  This issue was not seen in EPM 2017, it was just noticed in EPM 2018.3. 

 

Anyways, hope this helps someone out there!

Windows Calculation to make a field mandatory

I'm trying to make a field mandatory when an Int32 attribute has a certain value and I'm having no luck.  It says my syntax is valid but the field never becomes mandatory.

Can someone take a look and tell me what's missing?  Thanks

Setting With Customer or with 3rd party not sending email back to ticket creator

Hello all, I am fairly new to Service Desk and have somewhat of a dumb question. When a ticket is updated, the user who created the ticket will get an email with the update. However, when we change the status to "with customer" or "with 3rd party", the ticker creator does not get this notice with the note added via email. Where should I be looking to see why this is not functioning or whether my previous co-worker who set this up actually set this up properly?

Query Sort by Time Not Sorting Properly

I am having an issue with a query.  I am trying to sort based off time from a DateTime field that only displays time on a form (Start Time).  The query is grouped by a separate DateTime field that only displays date on the form (Start Date).  There is no calculation on these fields as they are meant as 'implementation dates and times' that a user selects themselves.  After digging deeper, it looks as if the date is being changed somehow though there are no calculations.  For instance, here is the query that gets emailed from scheduler:

 

However, if I launch the query via web desk, the date & time appear for the 'Start Time' column. As you can see, the date associated with the time is days prior:

 

Here is what the fields look like in the form (I used the first row in the example below).  The grouping is working fine (shows as an entry for a 11/13 Start Date) but the date that is getting assigned to the time field is showing as 11/12.  I am very confused and this is limiting our ability to utilize reports\queries to drive collision conversations.  There are also numerous entries where the date assigned to the Start Time field is a handful of days earlier (Additional screen shots below)

We're running Service Desk 2018.x.  Having had Service Desk since 2012, we've always been told that there is no audit of who accesses tickets, unless they perform an action and save the window.  Being a medical facility, we would like to know whenever someone accesses a record whether they save it or not.  Has this changed since 2012?  Are there any suggestions of how to accomplish this?

EPM 2018.1 - LDAP Group membership issue

Hi, we're on-prem customer and I've noticed some odd behaviour, it's either on the core/DB or agent, I can't quite work out which one.

 

The inventory on machines is not recording the LDAP group membership properly. For example, my laptop is in 4 different AD groups, EPM is only showing two, but appears to have mix and matched the records. This only appears to be affecting the machines LDAP group info, user group info is fine.

 

ldapwhomai reports the group membership properly, I ran an outputted inventory scan and found the below, which seems to suggest it's the agent mixing and matching the memberships:

LDAP Groups - Machine - (Display Name:D) - Name =CN=Domain Computers,CN=Users,DC=insurance,DC=lan

LDAP Groups - Machine - (Display Name:P) - Name =OU=Portable,OU=Swansea,OU=Clients,OU=Hardware Assets,DC=insurance,DC=lan

 

If I read this right (and I could well be wrong) it's trying to list the groups using the same display names, i.e. all with the display name of "P" - one for "Name =CN=PG-SW-Pilot Group" and one for "Name =OU=Portable,OU=Swansea,OU" and finally "ame =CN=PG-SW-Google Chrome"


I've tried uninstalling the agent/deleting from the console and reinstalling to no avail.

 

Tried following this: How to set up and configure policies to use LDAP Groups or LDAP Containers  but I don't seem to get any different results.

 

I've just changed the inventory history to 1 day (we've only just migrated so don't much history to keep) in case it's something in the history causing the issue. But I don't understand how when I get the above output on a manual scan on my computer. I would assume if it was the history or database I should only see that issue on the console, not output on the agent.

 

Can anyone recommend other settings/logs I can check for what might be causing this issue?

Application Control Self-Authorizing : Remember for session or always not remembering

I have Application Control 10.1 FR3 HF4 running on some machines using the self-authorizing setting for admins. I'm expecting the remember my decision setting to do just that, but these checkboxes never seem to take effect, using a range of file extensions (.exe, .msi, .msp are some examples).

 

Has this been resolved in a later version or is there some sort of client side config required?

show draft service request, created from incoming email, in "pending requests" in service catalog

Hello,

our idea: when HR department confims in their system a "new employee" their system sends

1) a structured mail to Ivanti --> we create a service request in status draft (customer = the head of the department where the new employee will start), link an existing request offering template "New employee" and create the service request parameters. This all works fine.

2) a mail to the head of the department with a link to the service catalog in Ivanti.

Our aim was that the head of department would see the draft service request as a "pending request" in his/her service catalog. However this is not the case.

We checked the service request object for other fields <> status that could hide it from the pending requests but we did not find anything.

 

Does anybody know what else could be the reason why this service request does not appear under "pending requests"? Is there any documentation when a request shows up as pending request and when not?

Set Owner field as the Manager of the Owner Team?

We're running ISM 2018.1.1 - I'm trying to automate a Change record that is triggered from a Service Request workflow. Everything is working fine, except we still have to manually enter the Owner of the Change.

 

I'm using a Create Object block in the RO workflow to create the Change record, and it sets the Owner Team. I want to then set the Owner (Change Manager) as the manager of that team; can a QA read the Owner Team field, then find the manager of that team and put that name in the Owner field?
