Hello all,

 

I've Upgraded from 2016.3 to 2018.3 Service-desk

 

after this many users report this error when trying to resolve incidents :
"Null value set for attribute Incident of class type IncidentManagement.Resolution. This attribute is mandatory and must contain a non-null value."

 

if i removed the Data Partitioning from the Group that user belong to , the error not coming and will be able to resolve .

 

but this was before working normally even with Data Partitioning active .

DSM 2018 / 4467

 

Guten Morgen,

 

mir ist der Vorgang des Clientsyncs nicht ganz klar, vlt. Kann mich hier jemand erhellen.

Ich habe es so verstanden, dass der Client bei jedem Kontakt mit dem DSM Server einen Sync durchführt und ich dies dann auch im DSM ablesen kann.

Ich gehe momentan davon aus, dass dies bei uns nicht immer passiert. Hintergrund ist die Spalte „Last synchronization“.

Beispiel:

Heute ist der 20.12..

Bei einem Client ist als last sync. der 17.12. 11:39 Uhr vermerkt.

Der letzte Reboot des Rechners ist vom 16.12. 13:38 Uhr.

Die AutoInstaller Polling frequency of Agent steht momentan auf 120 Minuten.

Der Rechner ist aktuell online.

 

Ich würde jetzt erwarten, dass der Client sich also alle 120 Minuten synct. In der Hilfe zur Client Synchronisation finde ich dazu:

„Die Client-Synchronisation wird vom Installer auf dem gemanagten Computer durchgeführt: AutoInstaller, Service Installer und Software Shop führen diese Synchronisation jeweils automatisch durch.“

 

Vielleicht verstehe ich ja auch den Begriff „Synchronisation“ falsch?

OneDrive On Citrix XenApp with new VHD feature include in 2018.3

Hello ,

 

Someone have already configured OneDrive on Xenapp ?

 

If you have any configuration exemple, i search information on cache process (downloaded locally before going in the VHD). How i can prevent or redirect this on Xenapp ?

 

Globally if you have step to make OneDrive working with UWM on XENAPP i'll take it

Slow logon when OneDrive Cache Roaming is integrate

Hi all,

 

We have implemented OneDrive cache roaming on our Citrix Xenapp environment, for the moment all work fine except for the logon time.

 

The node with the roaming action take more then 40 sec to be completed, for information i have an other node for exchange online cache roaming on the same storage and this one take less than 5 sec to be completed.

 

This is my roaming configuration for OneDrive

We have no error in log, only success but is it very (too) long to be completed.

 

I'm on 2018.3 version, OS 2016, Citrix 7.15.

Tracking Resource time on each incident

Auto Patching

I am new to patching and security . I want to setup auto patching of vulnerabilities to about 300 devices in our environment. We currently use WSUS to do that but I want to switch to fulI Landesk patching . My version of Ivanti is 11.0.0.164. We know Microsoft sends out new vulnerability updates on Tuesdays and we are a Win10 shop . I will grateful to get detailed documentation on how to do it and which is the best way .

Is there a way for me to use Ivanti Endpoint Manager 2018.3 to push out and run a SH script on Red Hat Linux?

I'm trying to set up a distribution package and schedule task to run a sh script to kickoff a yum update.

Different characters are showing on different language than english

Good morning

 

We have installed Wavelink Emulator 7.0.153 using ActiveSync - International version to work on our Motorola MC9000 units running CE 5.

 

As our business is across 3 countries, we need to have our emulator to have language for English, French and Spanish.

 

Unfortunately, when we put accents for French and Spanish, the characters are showing as weird characters rather than the correct characters.

 

There are not many options available on the MC900 for language and I am unable to find any about that problem on the Wavelink activesync application.

Getting fields from Employee to FRS_CompositeContract_Contact

I use the FRS_CompositeContract_Contact in my Request Offerings to allow customers to pick an employee name from a drop-down list. Right now the Display Name of FRS_CompositeContract_Contact shows up. However, I would really like to be able to constrain this list by Employment Status or Account Status so that terminated employees and service accounts don't show up on this list. I can't just use the Employee BO to generate the list for the drop down as it doesn't seem to work correctly for what I use these lists for. (Namely that I have a customer filling a form select an employee whom they want to be the target of the request, and that field is used to fill other fields in Service Request and link the target employee to the request for reporting and audit purposes.)

 

What would be the best way to get the IsDisabled field from Identity Contact and/or Status from Employee into FRS_CompositeContract_Contact?

 

Edited: Made a stupid mistake and realized I can, in fact, use the Employee BO instead of Contact, and constrain the pick list that way.

Reporting from Parameters on a Service Request?

Is there any way to generate reports based on the selections in the Parameters of a Service Request?

 

For example, I have a request offering with 3 options, A, B & C. I want to generate a report to see how many people requested option A in the past month.

Set visibility of a field to specific users within a role

We would like to set the visibility expression on a field to a set of users within a role without naming them individually in the expression, as it would be a form maintenance point.  My initial thought was to create a contact group, and use the CurrentUserRelatedObjectFieldValues() function to check if they are a member of the contact group using an expression similar to this: $(if "Special Contact Group" in CurrentUserRelatedObjectFieldValues("ContactGroup#.",  "Name") then True else False).  But this function is not allowed in the client side or read only rules.

 

My second thought was to add a property to the employee BO and use the function CurrentUserField() to test for this new field.  This would work as the function is allowed in the client side, but could get messy if you have several of these to manage, i.e. having to add multiple fields to the employee BO.

 

Another option would be to add these users to a team, and check for membership, using the function CurrentUserInTeam(), as it is allowed in client side or read only rules. But would rather not add a new team for this purpose.

 

Has anyone created a more flexible solution to this problem?

Multiple approvers dependant upon drop down selection

Hi I really need some help on creating a service request which includes multiple  approvers depending on the option selected via a check box.

We have an ERP system with various levels of access, however each site has a differant approver(s)

 

For example i have 5 global sites  - Japan. Hong Kong, China, USA and the UK

and the approvers are as follows:

 

Japan - Mark Jones

Hong Kong - Steve Davies

UK - Rob Green

USA - James Red

China - Gary Mitchell

 

We actually have over 50 sites and don't want to list all users in a group and send an approval to all users for 1person to vote. Also you could multiple approval blocks dependant on the site selection but again i want to keep this as simple as possible, building a block per site will be very time consuming.

 

i want to understand peoples idea on the best approach for this?

 

I was thinking of having a text field hidden in the form and when the user selects "Japan" the field automatically populates Mark Jones name. In the "Block Properties" i could then select approve from Contact Group in Context BO Field/Service Request Parameter which will send an email approval to Mark Jones.

 

 

Please can someone point me in the right direction on the best set up for this

Client IP Detection - How is that information gathered?

How (or from where) does the environment manager agent retrieve the client IP address? Is there a certain listener it queries, regkey, logfiles, or some other mechanism? We're looking to use AppStream, but it doesn't use RDP, so it seems the client IP detection may not work as it would via an RDP or Citrix session connection.

Creating or exporting a list of linked objects

I have a CI object (type Enterprise Application) with 82 Change objects linked to it. For audit purposes, I need to produce a list of all the Changes linked to this Enterprise Application. I can't figure out how to do this with a regular Quick Action. I just need a list of these changes, but ideally I also want the export or report to include a few key fields from Change.

Asset Control / Data Translation Services – No cross platform central location for MAC Address - Iterating through Child Record MAC Addresses?

I’ve found that under Device > TCPIP > Address – There is the IP address of the device, Padded and unpadded. Very convenient. Why is there not the same for Physical Address? I’ve checked among the different manufactures of devices that we have and there simply isn’t one.

 

 

The first and fourth child Network Adapter record does not contain and physical address field or is null. The second and third have a value, but the 2nd record’s Physical address field is all zeros. Clearly in this situation the third record would be the obvious real mac address to use. However not all are this obvious.

 

 

So my Idea is that using some VBS and a calculation rule, I may be able to iterate through the child records and write them all to an array, then identify the best mac to grab. Then write it to the Physical address field on the MP_AP_Devices table.

There's a few obvious issues here:

1. I am able to iterate through the MacAddress Array, however, not able to iterate through the variable reference to Physical Address. Not sure if that's even possible or how to try that..

2. I decided to join all the strings together on the final line. There is no mechanism here to break down the strings and device which is most likely the MAC address.

 

 

Any ideas?

 

Btw, in case anyone wants to ask for some reason, were on version 18.3 about 7500 Managed and 3000 Asset Control..

How do you limit the number of parallel jobs?

Parallel job scheduling in Automation is relatively new, and I can't seem to locate the documentation that I need. I'd like to limit the number of parallel jobs.

 

I'm encountering a problem where too many Active Director jobs are running in parallel, resulting in this error "A connection to the directory on which to process the request was unavailable. This is likely a transient condition."

 

I'd like to limit the number of parallel jobs to 10 or something less than the default.
